I'm a pretty big Arlo supporter and I really hope they get this product right. I want to pull the trigger on it but if they don't hurry and fix the issues dealing with the camera than I'll be forced to move on.
Good information. I'm afraid I've lost my confidence in Arlo as a company over time. I've been using their products since the first generation cameras came out and have found the products and app to consistently have bugs that Arlo seems unwilling or unable to address. They instead seem to just come out with a "new and improved" product to replace a former buggy one (but the new and improved is rarely improved, having a list of bugs on it's own). Likewise I've found their tech support to be sub-par, even by today's "sub-par is normal" standards. I finally gave up on them on a personal level and had a hard-wired camera system installed on my property. I don't believe for a second they thoroughly tested the Ultra system before shipping them to stores - thorough testing would be as simple as letting employees take systems home to test them out ... who would have seen and reported these early glitches. As per the standard with so many companies anymore, I feel they shipped these to use the public as beta testers so they could work out the bugs later - only it backfired in this case as the bugs were more numerous and talked about than they had anticipated. I no longer hope for them to fix their products because I know from past experience it won't happen except in rare "have to" instances. What I do look forward to are competitors coming out with similar (but better) items to give people more options.
