Maximize Leverage 💪 thru Connection ✅
Capturing Rotational Energy (Segmentation Mechanics or Hip/Shoulder Separation) with a Connected (Inside 90) Arm Path
The most difficult dynamic to truly understand when it comes to efficiently throwing a baseball at high velocities doesn’t stem from the arm independently. More often times than not actually thinking “throw this ball fast” will disrupt the timing and alignment needed to truly capture the Rotational Energy you’ve created up until the point in which your front foot anchors into the ground.
Leverage will come from the absorption of the created rotational energy generated via “Segmentation Mechanics” which starts its process of energy generation as the lower half initiates rotation. The upper body is simply staying silent while aligning in such a way that best captures this energy via connection.
This is why it’s important (long term) to analyze your throwing mechanics in an effort to identify how much strain you’re putting on your throwing arm independently while putting a plan of attack in motion to find efficient effortless chedda bob.

This is good coaching, most baseball coaches aren't this good

The quick feedback and adjustment after every throw must help the pitcher a lot to calibrate his movement. Great coaching

This video has changed my thought process of retraction! For the longest time I’ve been doing double retraction and I feel like is just slows me down that I lose my rhythm l

I’m 5’11” 210 and top out at 95. I’ve learned from multiple major leaguers how to throw a baseball- most academy owners are clueless let’s be honest. Add another one to that category

I love this video, is this the video you were talking about, or are you still working on a pocket path video as well?

How fast you think he was throwing in this?

When I pitch and overall throw my scap starts to hurt which causes my whole arm to get very heavy. Ive learned from coaches to load the scap back when I throw. What training can I do to either strengthen my scap or am I doing something mechanically wrong causing my arm to hurt.

Don’t overdo the scapload. The hips load the scap. I know exactly what you’re trying to do. Don’t think about having to feel the damn thing load and lock. SCap does what it needs to do when the hips/pelvis shoots forward. It somewhat pulls the cap into load.

Thank you. I will work on that.

Why’d he change arm slots. My son does this naturally and everyone has been trying to get him to throw “over the top” because he’s 6’3 without shoes and has a 6’7 wingspan so they keep saying his height is a big deal. But he naturally throws from a low slot and his slider is freaking filthy has been since age 12. He was told he has the layback of a 100 mph pitcher by a big time coach and now has been on a mission to throw that way. His money was low slot to me.

Arm path has 3 main points. 1) scap load 2) layback 3) trunk acceleration and arm pronation. Everything you try out of these 3 are wrong.

Don't disagree. But i have found that when working with individuals of the younger age groups they don't quite have a sense for their "arm" in space as much as they do the "hand" so a lot of my teachings are individually grouped for how much spacial awareness they have.

Effortless is a nonsense term. Less wasted effort is the physics-based term. I'm a physics professor not another ignoramus.
