2015 Loss, Devon was 20lbs lighter and in the middle of rehabiliatation, nowhere near the beast in this video, and before this match John beat Devon 3 times before Devon hit his prime and peak weight. Once Devon hit his prime no one could beat him. That's the truth, John simply not as good as Devon prime vs prime. Kind of, he was being disrespectful in attempting to tire johns hand and get a mental advantage from being a twat on purpose. I mean look at the way hes looking at john out of the corner of his eye trying to stay calm and gauge rather or not he has a mental edge before the start. I love his videos, but least respect to devon and Travis bagent on the arm wrestling table. Off the table both are great.
@insultmeplease not true at all. I have just binged watched a few matches and Devon def likes the mental side. However Ronnie is way off base to get upset on the strategy of tiring out your opponent, shows you lack tactics.

There was a series about all of these arm wrestling guys a few years back. I love watching.....very entertaining

guy in the black got spanked that day, but make no mistake.. there is no better arm wrestler, ever, then the "man in black" youre referring to. his name is John Brzenk, aka the Tom Brady of Arm Wrestling.
I agree. I don't think Devon will let John blast through him to get those non-strapped pins the way he did in their rematch and how Devon was unable to slip out. Devon's level of strength has gone waaaay up since this match or their rematch. I expect this same type of result however.
John has reoccurring nightmares of this match where he looks over at the ref to argue "Why is his webbing so much higher than mine" but to John's surprise the ref is Devon Larratt and the ref says I WANT YOU TO REMEMBER!

Yeah that's why 8 weeks later John beat Cyplenkov at Zloty, and the next year John beats Cyplenkov at Vegas 5-1, because he was old and weak and time had caught up to him. Devon simply got too strong, and was too much for everyone at this time. Even John. I mean Devon was beating Bath 6-0, Lupkes 6-0, Bresnan 5-1, Pushkar 5-1.
25 years undefeated dominating anything that comes in front of him in a sport like this is unheard of, and if you want to be the best you gotta beat the best. Kudos to both guys who are true champions. John is the Mohammed Ali of arm wrestling but only better 👑 🏆

Part of the reason Larratt won easily here is Larratt shoulder was not squared at all while John was more honest in the setup. But John indeed wasn't prepared well that day.
@Sagnik Ghosh It is not about cringy or not, it is just factual observation, look at 4:40, look where was the shoulder of Devon. John was weak that day, no doubt.

9 months has passed. Devon is looking bigger and stronger, but back to being the best in the world is a bet with the odds against it. But, one thing is for sure, and that's that Devon will never beat Levan.

Brzenk beat Cyplenkov in the same year. So imagine what Devon wouldve done to Cyplenkov. I reckon Cyplenkov got stronger when Devon arm wrestled him in 2015 with left hand and Devon had lost his prime.
I love Devon but he is a master of tricks and getting the advantage. Notice how he put his right hand facing out during the strap up with elbow out. It’s a trick to get a strap advantage. Devon is the most intelligent arm wrestler of all time.
Don't think so. In all the sports new generations are better than the previous one (in general). John had little injure here. But during those years he was still very strong. In 2008 or 2009 he only lost 3 matches if I'm not wrong. This one was between them. In 2014 or 2015 with Devon still not at perfect shape, John beated him for example. regardless of their game plan for this weekend in Dubai, I hope Devon remembers that he won this match before they even pulled. the calm, confident, swagger that Devon possessed on this day sent shockwaves into Johns soul that day -- and this was apparent to everyone with two good eyeballs, and gave Devon an air of dominance is this match that has not been eclipsed by anyone in any hand-to-hand combat sport since. I hope Devon's demeanor from this match makes a return appearance this weekend. the demeanor Devon carried in the Chaffee WAL match won't be good enough, this time.
