CallMehTOMMEH Of course. I can fly just fine, but landing in tight spaces is so risky just because I cannot look around fast enough using my hat switch.

Hmm, maybe the FOV option could work for you until you get a TRACK IR. I mean it is dooable, you just have to be very spatially aware of your helo when going for tight LZ's.

Hahaha, I know EXACTLY what you mean. Don't worry man, been there. It's not the most intuitive menu...basically you have to drag 'Mouse Left' etc from the Right Hand panel, into the empty control slot. Then it will be binded properly. Hope this helps!

im 2 years late but if you still need it you might have vehicle freelook enabled under options, game, general i had it enabled because i got annoyed by the mouse driving in vehicles but it also disables mouse flying in helis

Hey man, and you should delete any banking controls that are A and D. There shouldn't be any controls for 'banking'. Cyclic left and right are for the mouse. A and D are for the pedals. Hope this helps! :-)

I figured it out! My Logitech GX 56 HOTAS which I had been using previously, was causing conflict between the mouse and the key binds. So what I did was I disabled the HOTAS in the controllers tab and it worked!😃

Hey Jim, thanks so much my friend, glad you're enjoying it! And make sure there aren't any crossovers if you scroll down to the bottom of the list. Also the duplicates can be caused by plane controls. Make sure plane controls match heli controls and that should work :-)

I would argue no; since your hands are not in an ergonomic position to pull off the manoeuvres I can do.

I managed it, but it took 6 months of practice with default bindings to get to tommehs skill level. His bindings are far superior to the defaults..

I am having the same problem for jets and helis my mouse controls only the camera but doesnt affect any plane movement.

Exactly, it's all about personal preference. But I'm from the school of thought that says newbie pilots should stick to normal K/M until they progress onto expensive HOTAS setups (although not all of them are pricey, but the good ones tend to be).

CallMehTOMMEH I agree whole heartedly stick to the basics before you make the decision to go with a stick or a controller. I ended up reconfiguring all the controls and still felt like I didn't have the fine control I wanted. For quick and snappy I usually just use old faithful.

For flying a helictopter in Arma though I wouldn't suggest a hotas maybe a Logitech extreme 3d pro or a thrustmaster t1000 or whatever their budget stick is. Ive grown quite fond of my Logitech over the past idk man like 5 years

Hey dude, it's quite simple. Just extract the file to a random location. Open it, enter your details (resolution, desired FOV) and then click the 'open' button to locate your Arma 3 profile file!

Hey dude, yeah I used to play EU1 AhoyWorld but not much these days.

That's just a simple bleed flare landing man haha. You need to be going at a steady decent, and make sure your speed and altitude hit zero at the same time. If you have forward speed and try landing, you will explode. If you flare up too much you'll hit the tail and explode ;)

Hey man! Thanks again. Little update if you're curious. I've been practicing almost non-stop for the past few days and it's been paying off quite a bit. Especially useful the X/C binds for pitch. I saved my crash landing aircraft twice in two days (still crashed more often than not, but at least it's not a 100% death rate the moment I lose my tail rotor anymore). I've been meaning to ask you something by the way. What utility keys do you use? Most notably, countermeasures? I went ahead and set up my countermeasures to KP5. Secondly, the controls mess about with the Jet controls a little bit. I edited those for now as I'm nowhere near flying jets, but, I thought it interesting to have your input on those as well. Do you happen to pilot Jets, too? If so, you use a similar set of controls for those, yes?

Hey! And that's what I like to hear. Non stop practise is what separates an okay pilot and an amazing one! The X/C is crucial, so I'm glad it's saved you a few times haha. As for your question about countermeasures, I use R for flares in both jets and helos. The controls do work with the jets, however because of the update you need to change around some of the settings. For example I use CTRL + C for radar toggle, Y for the jet targeting camera and left windows for the airbrake. All of these should work without any conflict with the helo controls. I would recommend sticking as close as possible to the helo controls as you do in jets, simply because of muscle memory, and how it will carry across more seamlessly than always using different bindings to fly jets and different bindings to fly helos.
