Just some thoughts that are... well, not really much needed: in T-140 Angara's name the stress in on the last syllable (AngarA). It is named after river AngarA (or i assume so) which is located in Krasnoyarskiy region in Russia. And yes, thank you for the video =)
Also, its said in the Altis Requirem campaign, that the armor plates are secret. I think thats because they are made from some extraterrestrial materials. Could explain why they are secret, and also maybe because CSAT wants to have better stuff than everyone else
I love it when the Arma 3 campaigns start "Arma-ing" like shit will just blow up or objects will clip into each other so much that they clip out of existence. This is why I play Arma, for its "realism".
IDK why I'm rewatching this years later, it just popped up on my recommended videos and I watched it again.... just like to say, god I have fond memories of the Nyx...it and a couple other veey light armored vics were the only ones available for purchase on this phenomenal Exile Mod server I used to play on years ago, and seeing as I really only played Exile, it was my first "tank" I ever used in A3... absolutely loved that little dude, especially because the map used was Tanoa at the time, and you know how jungle ridden that gorgeous map is, it was a fantastic purchase for doing the missions solo 😅 (even though I mainly used it for transport to and from the missions and jumped out and did them on foot 🤣)
It is ironically that both the Merkava and T-14 had the 3D model with Active Protection System (Trophy HV, Afhanit) but only for decoration purpose.....LOL
Looks cool, how detailed is the armor and penetration system in Arma III compared with War Thunder? I'd really like a more realistic tank game, even if less graphically pleasant, but "health bar vehicles" I can't really take...
With a well experienced full tank crew who all know what they're doing and have really good communication skills between each other, if they had an AngarA tank they would be op...
Fantastic content DLC... but the AI STILL cannot drive from anywhere to anywhere without crashing, flipping, getting stuck. I love tank games, and Arma would be my go-to if only the AI could drive! Here's a challenge if you're interested... get a squad of 4 tanks, start them in the desert on the east side of Altis, and get them to drive all the way to the west coast, using AI drivers only. Even if you use "safe" and "on road" only, they'll miss a corner and smash into a house, or a tree, or end up upside down in a ditch. I wish Arma could be used like a real time strategic game, with several platoons of tanks on both sides having a big ol' tank battle. That would be tremendous!
Yep when I was in 1SBCT 5-1 Cav fuckin squadron Commander Ltcol West had us put so much foliage on our fucking Stryker hah. If putting moon rocks made the Stryker more adaptive he’s find a fcukkng way to make us do it 💀 good times

Hello. Tank singleplayer. How do you set how many meters the cannon's range should be ? The T button measures the distance ? But where, how set distance for cannon ? What button should I use to set the distance if the meter showed 1000 meters ?

I think it's just weapons-grade bullshit that NATO didn't get a PL-01 as their new "high tech" tank to rival the Angara. For those of you who don't know what the PL-01 is, it's a new Polish tank with a lot of "stealth" capabilities - it's in Grand Theft Auto Online under the name of the "Khanjali", just for reference. The PL-01 could've received a cool "Arma name" as the "Ghost" or "Phantom" and had a special passive ability that makes it harder to lock onto with guided launchers but the tradeoff is that it has slightly less armor than the Angara (I keep wanting to call it "Armata", its IRL name). Some people probably agree with me but the harsh truth is that it was a totally missed opportunity, which is just disappointing. Instead, NATO gets the most hideous tank destroyer ever (they could've used the M1128; that thing looks like a true tank killer). Oh, and AAF's "tank" looks gross. It's nice that it has so many variants, though.
Just look up the sabot round. Its a modern heat round that pretty much a rod that pens into an armored vehicle and then explodes once inside sending shrapnel everywhere inside the vehicle killing the crew and and blowing it up with its own ammo.
Heat doesnt enter then explode. It explodes outside compressing a rod of metal (usually copper) into a superheated stream traveling at speeds of mach 7 to mach 10 to punch a hole into a tough armored target
heat explodes on contact and it`s focus most of explosion in strait line so it can penetrate realy heavy armour but modern armour does better against it than the kinetic shells for example last version of T 72BZ (version of 2016 ) have 730mm armour against kinetic shells and 1100mm against heat

The cage armor is for stopping HEAT rounds, causing them to detonate before they strike the hull of the vehicle. This is a very cool ARMA add-on pack.. thanks for the intro!

And the Thing with 3d models is that theyre Not getting easier to make, so a more detailed modern set of models is a lot more costly than operation flashpoint models.
i think the Nyx is designed after the german "Wiesel", atleast the look and configurations are quiet similar even though i'm missing a mortar configuration for the Nyx which the Gebirgsjäger actually have for their Wiesels
The Nyx is longer than the wiesel, with one additional roadwheel pair, because the weapon station is a remote controled one behind the commander rather than on top of his position. It looks extra cool imho.
Ah, yes, definitely, I just wanted to add that there were interesting differences between the two. EDIT: actually the Wiesel II, used for the german SHORAD system and mortar system, and a few more variants, have that hull length already. But the Wiesel I is the short version, used for the real life 20mm fire-support vehicle and the TOW carrier. The Arma devlopper just rationalized all of this on a single long hull.
The nyx is based on the German weasel tank. Used by the Heer and Luftwaffe. It's used today in the airbourne and light infantry units of the Bundeswehr
probably my favorite DLC besides APEX to come out, the Armata, The Wiesel, The Rooikat and the MAAWS Launchers, gonna be a goodtime in wasteland if i ever get around to playing it again.
Soo... in a DLC called "Tanks" theres only one OP main battle tank (CSAT obv, because biasing for OPFOR is what cool kids do today), a minuscule two-seater coffin, and an AFV that was not really needed since it's the same thing as the Marshall? Uh... that's disappointing.
This is my favorite DLC Arma 3 has made BY FAR!!! XD Love tanks so much, they're my favorite part of the military overall, and now I can finally get a sense of what it's really like to be in one! Great video.
The T-140K also has insane AA capability for a tank. I have had 2 A-164s come to shoot me (in the campaign, they were AI so not that good) and I could take them out with my main cannon (pressing T on them so it adjusts to the range and then aiming a bit lower left before taking the shot) or with the commander seat 30 mil. I think it’s an amazing tank and the 30 mil is kind of like an AA cannon too.
The cages protect against shape charges such as RPG17 and pretty much every AT rocket. Same with the little blocks, they are “reactive” however. But by this time in the future all AT munitions would have dual shape charges, one to blow through the cage or reactive and the other to punch through the armor itself.
well theres ERA that can deal with tandem heat these days, also arma doesnt have any tandem heat except maybe on some missiles, largely because many vehicles also deploy active anti munition systems that are probably not possible to implement in arma.
Drewski.... you said that the T-100 was the overall vanilla winner "because of its ability to fire high explosive ammunition" as if that the Slammer doesn't have that ability...... you know that the slammer has HE in addition to the AP rounds, right?
If you look at it from a tank vs tank perspective, only firing AP, HEAT, and HE rounds makes these tanks incredibly weak. I do believe that most tanks at this stage no longer used conventional admiring piercing rounds
thats a deliberate choice because physics can break when the barrels clip with certain objects, many mods do have barrel collision and it happens way too often that the barrel clips into one of those small stone walls and decided that you need a bit of "ballistic aerial reconnaissance"
The DataLink works also with other vehicles/tanks, not only aircraft. btw: the recon mini tank (Nyx) has a radar for air and graund targets - together with the other variants a nasty combo^^
Its easy to say "its a troll" but i highly doubt that wasnt legit. Also they could be reviewing the alpha builds to make sure the game is going in the right direction and not end up a buggy mess
To be fair, Slammer is based off either the Abrams or Challenger II, with the T-100 being based off the T-90. The new T-140k is based off the new T-14 Armata.
They could have added a vehicle like the Leopard 2A7, or the M1A2 Abrams SEPv3, which are all up-to-date tanks NATO has access though. They have severely weighted the tank battle now.

Thats Arma 3. CSAT always gets the best equipment and most OP stuff. Bohemia simply expects the mod and mission makers to deal with it somehow and spend days having to reballance their missions every time Bohemia throws some new toys into the sandbox. Having the "big bad wolf" faction sounds nice and all on paper, but in actual gameplay its a massive pain in the ass and we all hope they scrap that idea in Arma 4. We want ballanced factions not this shit.
Some people sleep on the Nyx, yes it's lightly armoured and heavy gunners of infantry squads can penetrate the armour and at the very least disable it, but when used right it's so nimble and can be the right asset in the right place at the right time. On an Invade & Annex server I play on I often see a T140 or an M2A4 on high ground overlooking the AO ready to provide support, with an AA Nyx a few hundred metres away to provide protection. As a hostile vehicle they're sometimes tricky to deal with especially with unguided rockets if they're on the move, because they're so speedy, easy kill if they're stationary but if they're firing at you and doing circles around you they can be really dangerous.
I think when DayZ Standalone is done that's when ArmA 4 will kinda come out because it will be smart to use DayZ's Enfusion engine because better graphics... and other stuff optimization so means more client and server stability so better fps when playing multiplayer and the maps will be more detailed and more populated by players and npc's and shit better animations and other stuff it will be dope... can't wait for DayZ Standalone 0.63 :D
Arma 3 is CSAT biased in terms of tanks......... Not until I add in an Upgrade mod for M2 Slammer tanks.... 140mm cannon. Can wreck the shit out of T100 and T140 angara ....
You uh, you forgot to mention that 30mm is only available for the t140k which is different from the regular t140, like m2a4 up kinda different, with cage armor.
