Local petco mistook one of these Ouroborus Cataphractus as your common species of armadillo lizards and had it on sale at their store for 49.99 that my friend bought. Watching it grab its own tail and puff itself up into a ball to hide into things was the coolest shit.
Oh my goodness, I wish I had a whole family but they're not even for sale at all in my state, not to mention for such a ridiculously great price :D lucky guy!
Great video as always guys! I loved seeing those rarer species, I had never even heard of the pygmy spiny tail skinks! Super jealous you guys guys got to interact with the girdled armadillo lizards, thanks for sharing!
Armadillo lizard where one of those lizards I’ve always wanted to have! I’m so glad you guys were able to find one. I eventually will see if I can take a look at that store.
Shelduck2 I am a breeder myself I don’t just buy endangered animals just for the fun of it. I would breed them to conserve their numbers in the wild aswell.
Shelduck2 and for your information they are not endangered like you say they are. The are noted as least concern. Inform yourself before you inform others buddy. Your spreading false information.
Hey guys I just wanted to say that I really like the video and I was actually blown away that you showed my favorite lizard ever at armadillo lizard is just insane man keep up the good work Brothers
I liked the first lizard and armadillo lizard the best! The first lizard had beautiful brown eyes like a bird!!! I am a bird person but I have learned to appreciate reptiles in my older age. Thank you for this awesome video!
Bought one for 35 dollars 32 years ago when my daughter was born. Still going strong, thank god,. Cool lizards, easy to care for. Cordylus cataphractus cataphractus. Would love another.
I love the Armadillo Lizard, in fact I have made the inspired by this Beautiful Lizard, and I made her the love interest for Marvin the Martian from Looney tunes.
BOIIII, I DIDNT EVEN KNOW EGERNIA WERE IN THE REPTILE TRADE, I need to get one of those in the future. I remember hearing of the species and immediately checked online to see if anyone was selling them, but I found no one selling them. They must be pretty rare to find though!
I am very interested in getting the armadillo lizard. Idk if there's anyway you can get me in contact with someone who deals with them but any insight is greatly appreciated
Beautiful lizards. Please educate people more on our threatened lizards like Amarillo girdled lizards and please try to captive breed them as much as possible to reduce demand on our very endangered sungazer lizard, which can not be bred in captivity... yet.
@@brehe1657 l dont know in the us, but here in eu, they usually sell them with a CITES. But they are crazy rare, even if you have the cash good luck to find some.
@@brehe1657 that's not true, l even know a breeder. And what's the best option to save the specie ? Leaving them in a destroyed habitat or breeding them in captivity with mb one day a program to release them into the wild ? Having this specie in captivity (under regulation ofc) is the way to go if you want to save them.
Those keel-bellies are awesome, I never see those in shops. I love their long tails and how slim they are. Theyre smaller in comparison than i thought theyd be, are those full grown keel bellies? Great video, also that armadillo lizard is so colorful compared to the ones ive seen, any change your friend there sells and ships them across the u.s? 😂
@@brehe1657 also you dont need to copy and paste that under every comment of the video 😂 we understand theyre endangered, we also understand repopulating them prevents extinction
@@brehe1657 A: who tf is Brian, B: alligator lizards are bred often and the first people to successfully breed keel bellies in an enclosure happened 2 years ago, and since then has happened more, weve learned more about doing it, and we have keel bellies thriving in multiple national parks better than a few years ago.
I love lizards! I like the presentation… but, maybe you should speak at a volume that isn't terrifying to them? A booming voice is never adaptable. Could you get used to a person yelling above your head? Behind you? In captivity? Not that you are yelling… but the lizard's visible panicked breathing isn't a great sign of cooperation on the lizard's part.
I would not say these are anywhere close to the rarest lizard in the world sorry man... my Fijian banded iguanas are 10000x more rare and actually endangered. There is less then 7000 left in existence and there for are considered only top 3 rarest lizards in the world. I keep them myself I also keep cataphractus and those are not endangered at all and hard to find but definitely not close to the rarest in the world.
