Billy Woods’ verse is beautiful and haunting, but ELUCID’s first verse, and that refrain, hit me so damn deep. I’ll listen to it on the subway and just start crying. There’s so much naked emotion, so much feeling in his delivery that I couldn’t even begin to put into words. It just devastates me.

Coming back to this from the future after an interview with Prof Skye where woods references this as one of his best ever verses, but credits to E L U C I D picking the beat and singing the chorus, setting him up to succeed, to “set a scene and bring it full circle in a verse with emotional weight and clarity. I can do that! If you get Shaq the ball under the basket, he’s going to bring the rim down on people” This song is a game-winning dunk, Kobe to Shaq. Absolutely devastating.
