Armed Police in Lytham! The Festival 2024 

The fact that we now have armed police at a family event just shows how far we've fallen as a society! So sad to see!

Thanks for showing a lot of Lytham it brings back great memories from where I was born 72 years ago. I remember playing on the green and around the windmill with my grandfather and siblings

They were brilliant, felt very safe, thankyou all 👏

We stayed as children back in the late seventies between Lytham and St Annes in a caravan park . Was very nice, took our tourer and awning. Lovely area.❤

What’s the world coming to when your at a festival in an upmarket place but with larger barriers around it and have to see police with guns outside - puts a damper on things to say the least - bring back the old days lol

I live in NJ and our coastal towns are just like that. Atlantic City crime (2 blocks off boardwalk) and a short walk to Ventnor or Margate.. 3 miles .. and super nice and $$$$

Now, now, don't tar every Lythamer with being affluent with Porsches, mainly the posh commuters making it a dormitory town with inflated house prices, compared to when I moved in 40 years ago. 1980 Mini & 2010 Fiat 500 bought new for myself in passing.. Organisers couldn't be bothered with a 'Thank You' firework show at the end this year, yet had increased capacity to 25,000. Status Quo and Rod Stewart were memorable in the past!! 🤔🤭😀🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Don’t we live in sad times when we need armed police and heavy duty road blocks including vehicles to protect a family event. Looked like a great event even though I haven’t heard of many of the performers, does that make me officially old?

what started as a "last night of the proms" sunday night concert has turned into a week long monster that makes a lot of money for someone and causes a huge amount of inconvenience and disturbance for many locals who get no benefit out of it. Roads closed, parking problems, noise, litter.

IM GUESSING THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A SECURITY THREAT OR CONCERN FOR THETE TO BE OLD BILL WITH GUNS IT'S A SAD DAY REALLY HAS THIS COUNTRY BECOME THAT DANGEROUS ? ARMED POLICE ACTUALLY MAKE ME NERVOUS SPECIALLY IF YOU'VE GOT A TRIGGER HAPPY ONE 🌊☀️🙏🤑♥️

I don't go into Lytham during the festival, its full of undesirables

It's not to keep the rife raff out' it's to stop terrorist attacks

Just to make people aware when using the car parks, don't scan the QR codes to pay for your parking because scammers are covering the QR codes with their own QR codes and instead of paying for parking you'll just have loads of money stolen from your account.
