The empty stadium was Srbuk’s idea to add the intensity of herself being all alone in the world and isolated from everyone. They used her rehearsal footage to make it “more powerful” 💀. She announced it before the Semi on her instagram but I guess her idea didn’t work cuz almost everyone was hella confused at that part lol.
First of all I hope you have read the lyrics. Well her acting was the interpretation of the song; she has to portray a dramatic sense of loss & hope.. She"s singing about a hurtful lost love, so she has to show her emotions of anger, sadness, frustration & betrayal. Towards the end she musters up enough courage to walk out of a manipulative & destructive relationship. She was dramatising a theatrical tragedy. At the end when she decides to walk out, you feel a sense of positivity that she is on the road to healing & recovery.
@@guillaumeducellier792 Have a look at my comment to @Amaan Storm below. Yes the song was interpreting a MODERN TRAGEDY! That will not hold the interest nor attention of Esc fans, like yourself & you find it boring. The SONG was not right for the Esc.
Really love it. She deserves the final. And totally agree with idea of adding men on stage and simulation of the music video by making her battling with those men.
To me this was just so flat. A complete missed opportunity. The chorus is punchy and demands attention. She needed women in black with dark high ponytails, giving it an edge dancing around her, like a battle. Perhaps where they’re encroaching on her until the chorus where SRBUK blasts them away with her powerful “walking out oooh oooh”. I found the camera angles weren’t the best and the whole thing just felt empty and lonely. I get that people are saying she wanted to portray loneliness, but this wasn’t loneliness, just a distinct lack of energy. Shame.
I really feel that presenting a theatrical, modern type of tragedy for a Esc is not the right stage. The audience cannot digest anything too in-depth.The Esc is for very light entertainment, kirsch, schlager modern bop songs & anything LGBTQI etc. The average audience cannot comprehend any songs of depth & won't be bothered to do so. They won't like anything too dark, dramatic or complicated with emotional songs & performances. They just want to have fun, bop & love gimmicky presentations. "Walking Out" is a type of song that should be presented to an appropriate audience who will appreciate its quality.
No audience in a hall doesn’t mean loneliness, it means empty hall. Bad decision. Why not just bring the dancers instead? That worked in the video. Got millions of viewing. Does that mean anything to whoever made the empty hall and stage decision? Wasted opportunity.
I thought there was a stage invasion and they just put the dress rehearsal footage over it when it happened. The effect they talked about on social media didn’t really work for me unfortunately
I love how everybody knows that the dress rehearsals are performed in front of a crowd, yet everybody somehow thought that the backup footage will contain an empty arena. People are such idiots.
There was no audience 03:14 which is bizarre (doesn't that break the rules?); and she needed the male dancers like in her video. She may have qualified if she had.
I've read they didn't sold all the tickets... Far from it.. Love her voice.. Love the song and yes guys on that stage that she would push would be nice to see.. It would empower the performance
Srdjan Savic That destroyed her chances of qualifying, because when my family watched this, we all thought she was cheating .. so nobody voted for her! That was such a big mistake they made.. Armenia kills it at staging.. but this time it was horrible!
Ugh, I had such HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SONG. She did not look as good as before and the sound was TERRIBLE. She could not pronounce the words properly, which took away from the power of the song, plus the stage was an EMPTY MESS which did not help her at all. I was sooooo disappointed by Albania which is typically one of my faves. This had TONS of potential but was fucked up big time like something Spain would do.
This performance was horrible. I couldnt understand what she was singing... Scream, scream and scream. Too much. I am not surprised that she did not make it to the final.
She doesn't speak English so what? Not everyone is obligated around Europe to know English.. if that song was in Armenian I dont know how it would sound like I'm glad she sings it in English. It requires nerves for someone to sing that powerful in a language that cant speak.. from Greece I am sad about Armenia:/
Nasuji yep i needed the power from the music video, sorry but she barrely made the higher notes :/ it wasnt just the empty staging (that too) but also the live performance wasn‘t that great - my opinion tho
her voice was more than ok, they could use dancers or something on stage to support her, most of the songs were so basic and so easy to be sung by everyone they were literality talking not singing, so think again before saying anything, only opera singers can sing better at lives than the recorded one.
I think we (Armenians) should stop participating in this silly Euroision thing that kills the character of the songs and nations. No need to try to impress others with something that is not yours, is not your culture, not your language! OR go with something like DLE YAMAN. People we cry? it is too sad? yes, but it reflects OUR history and OUR pain, and others should know what WE feel. Bravo Srbuk, you did well, but all what I said above applies. Sing DLE YAMAN next time.
@Your name here yes thats it. Nakhijevan was Armenian land too. But now part of azerbaijan. They're called Artsakh as Karabakh but in Artsakh now live only Armenians. Its our part.
