This is the story of five years after Leos mars rebellion, a story that really does not have much substance to it, however it will open up the doors of theories and time line questions for ever.
While this game didn't really have a story, I do think it gave a pretty satisfying conclusion to the storyline starting from AC1 as well as a pretty satisfactory amount of worldbuilding.
The game itself standalone doesn't have a story but it felt nice as a world building game after the events of 2. Especially with what was going on at Earth at the time. So in a way it felt nice to play as a clear cut mercenary just doing missions to survive with little bits of story plot going on in the background. Literally "same shit, different planet"
I always wondered why this title was named Another Age, but after hearing your story breakdown and ending summery. Another Age is a polite for the public way of saying "Same Shit, Different Day."
The fact in the previous installment we were hired by Zio Matrix Earth was in question for me for some time. Sir I thank you for the revelation of Zio Matrix's Earth and Mars division
After watching the Armored core 2 video, I still think to myself that this raven is the Raven that fought Leo's Klein. Just my theory: perhaps he knew things would get peaceful on Mars so we went back to earth. Then again I'm just speculating.
Speculate away as personally like you i believe this raven is the one who defeated Klein and with his wish he returned to earth only to see even after he'd saved mars, he was just another pawn in the game of corporation warfare.
It's a perfect bridge to ANOTHER AGE, get it? Another Age pretty much just an "Intermission" for the upcoming Gen 3, powered with some throwback and foreshadow as an icing on the cake. 4:11 9:04 That's more like it, I love seeing that. Testament of the best build, and I can see by the gameplay, you just want an easy way out.
I don't think there is another lore channel out there that grabs my attention. Your voice even keeps you interested like a nice documentary TV channel. I can't wait to see your work on AC6. I'm recovering from spinal surgery and I have many sleepless nights from med side effects and I'm binging your content. Do you have enough to do a vid on Scylla the Merc?
@@armoredcorelore Well since I've been diving deep into AC 5th gen, I have a theory where the idea of Nineball came from if timeline and universes match up. But you probably saving this idea for future content videos. ^-^
Ah, if I get a new PS2 controller I can revisit this. It was the first armored core game I ever touched as a kid (I’m 22 now) and after that I went straight to ACV, ACVD, ACFA and AC4. I never beat AC2:Another age and I probably should change that.
But before story of armored core 3 silent line, nexus, formula front, last raven (Except for ninebreaker bc There’s no story in the game. They’re a bunch of training mission that’s it.)
It's kinda nice to just be a mercenary. Loyal only to who pays in a post apocalyptic age. NOONE provided anything for the remaining survivors. So why have loyalty to anyone based on morals? Money is neutral. Perfect for a world like this.
I love the political stuff is implemented into the story it seems like history and lore of Armored core also Armored Core/Soulsborne veteran here I love really good video aswell
Great breakdown on Another Age! Despite its lack of story, it was still a solid entry. Had AC 2 been produced in current times, Another Age would have been a worthy DLC. This has me wondering if AC VI will have DLC seasons or will it be a standalone like previous entries.
Gooooood timing amigo. Just had my assistant manager quit on us. Things going off in a weird kind of way today. Needed this. Aaahhhh whyyy. Lol. (I'm a keyholder, my direct supervisor is who quit.)
@@armoredcorelore thank you my friend. I needed that. It was good to get to enjoy something made by a friend, about something we all care so much about. I am working on a workaround for not having my laptop atm.
So this is the supposed better or good ending of the Armored Core timeline huh?... _new year, same day huh?_ You might say this is the perfect conclusion for _ANOTHER AGE_ you might say (which is somehow worse) *It's a fitting ending for Armored Core even if it's anti-climatic...* a satisfactory end to the first timeline
Oh fromsoftware do not like them good ending. But yes it is kinda of a anti climatic ending i admit however i think this just show as you say the wars of the corporations would never end not even in another age.
Kinda like that fallout saying. War, war never changes. I think it was a fitting end, relate it to real life experiences. As things progress, majority stays the same. Still pay taxes to Feudal Lords(developer projects) 😊
Bravo really good Info because I’m prepared to see new footage for armor core 6 fires of Rubicon at this year’s Taipei game show Because it’s gonna be 20 minutes long
Thank you and Well we'll see, I'm keeping myself on the fence as always but i hope we get something even if it just a this is the main garage screen, look at the ac spin.
this game was one of from softs better ones for gameplay and story was light but contextual it was in more a background thing youd have to read and pay attention to see but its there its not heavy and its fairly good im suprised you didnt comment on the lost field missions vs stinger phantasma and seraph nineball they always stuck out to me as huge easter eggs for multiple reasons
Ahh see the reason i did not speak about that place is really i scanned over my copy of the ac2aa book i have and found nothing. In fact the more i look at the lost field the more i think it really was just that an Easter egg, however could the earth government been conducting secret projects? Sure they wanted power so why no bring back the things that killed and enslaved humanity. Then go you know what maybe we did an oops better call in that raven who just killed the top mars raven, he should be able to clean up our mess right.
@@armoredcorelore i always saw it as one of the controllers last bastions maybe or like u said a gov facility studying those units who somehow regained autonomy and ran amok the enemies themselves were easter eggs but im more interested in what exactly lost field itself was
@@armoredcorelore I always consider those fights in that area, a little more than an Easter egg as well. I always thought of them more as a tying back to the original trilogy of games and kind of showing how, regardless of what people think of the second game they all did take place at some point in that LinkedIn timeline and it definitely helped to tie in armored core to back with the original three What you mentioned about the flying MT boss I totally forgot that. It does definitely resemble and have a similar weapon set up to the one in three whether or not they are the same given that three and onward seem to take place in a different universe timeline, or somehow are supposedly not connected, whereas I thought they were growing up playing them back in the day , it’s an interesting idea and I do need to take a good look at both of them to see what the deal with that is. Perhaps it’s just a non-back to the second GEN games. Maybe there’s something a little more there I mean we are dealing with fromsoft they love their references.
Make more money by making a problem. The age old method of profit. Though I have certainly not complained as I was making that money, and never really knowing where one war ended and another began.
@@armoredcorelore there's SOOOO little going on in the actual game in terms of story but I guess in Japan there was "a lot" (read: more than zero) of extra content to flesh out the story.
Question about Human Plus. The battles with Zaltehook show him after losing to you challenging you again with h+ modifications. Doesn't that show evidence of it earlier in the game?
A good question and I believe the example i give in this video can be done at the start of the game. But really the point was not to show how early one could see Human plus in action, what the other fight offered was history and details about who was still using human plus tech which the Zaltehook did not.
Surprisingly more story and potential to it than one might think from the start. Sadly, this is where the seeds of Armored Core's downfall would be planted as well.
Domino effect... *makeing humanoid working mechs for easier and effecint manuel laber* | | \/ *Multi world war 2, because one war between earth and mars wasint enough*
I like to think between these war and profit there is some good time, raven sharing a drink, people celebrating. Fromsoftware really do not do the happy ending thing anyway.
The space elevator confuses me. Is it a launcher? Or legitimatly an elevator from earth to mars? And if it does connect the two how does it not get destroyed from the force of both planets lol
