@@AstromarineCorpse In Armored Core games up to 4 Answer, Ravens refer to all AC pilots under PMC employ. Every pilot in every game is a Raven. Some fans take it a step further and refer to all player characters as THE Raven, and in Armored Core: Last Raven, yes, your character becomes the Last Raven by the end of the story. In honor of that old adage, it's very fitting that your player AC is called a Raven. For old AC players, it's essentially welcoming them back to Armored Core.

@@AstromarineCorpseIn previous games up to the fourth generation, "Raven" was the name for any and all AC pilots. It's a term a lot of armored core diehards use to refer to each other more often than not as a result. So hearing the phrase "Welcome back, Raven" in a new AC title after a decade long break is just... Unbelievably nostalgic.

@@threesofthree6100 And by continuing the game you- Spoilers: Meet the one who originally had your current callsign(surrounded by fresh wreckage of ships and ACs), and might actually be an old Pilot, especially with how their operator was calling the Raven call sign as not just a simple call sign, but a title of many AC pilots before them and you. They were testing you if you were good enough for the title, and brother, the mofo moved like something from the older games, and can also heal themselves. Epic.

Handler does tell you to stay off the ground as much as possible. The sword already got shown to do better against heavy armor. The tools and advice on how to use them was given for the first boss. It is certainly a hell of a first boss though.

I believe that the planet Rubicon 3 was pretty prosperous until the Coral outbreak that wipes out majority of the civilization. That's why you see a bunch of megastructures left in ruins or took over by each of the cooperates.

for this exact reason I hope the next game is a prequel prior to the collapse and Fires of Ibis. Rubicon can't have been populated long so it should have the vibrant hope of a new colony, lot of people there all hoping to strike it rich to either found the next corporation or get out from under their heels. It should have a good organized sports feel to the arenas too, they can keep the Arena system from RC6 as a license test to qualify for arena rankings.

Awakened corals, now with integrated AC bodies, take the war to the humans and the corporations that have exploited them for so long. 621 and Ayre are caught in the middle of the crossfire. And once again, choices need to be made.

@@IRUKANJI From what I understand of the lore it was a planet that basically had the most advanced technology in the galaxy, everything on Rubicon was cutting edge and they were deep into all kinds of mysterious and secret research but their research of coral got to out of hand mistakes were made and the coral erupted and basically wiped out everything and everyone in the system. The Rubicon liberation front is basically the remnants of the original population.

I think MT used to mean "Muscle Tracer" in the old AC games and is probably the same here. The name comes from the tech used to pilot them, i imagine by mirroring the pilots movements inside.

Yup, mass produced military units. ACs are custom built neural interface, and by this point in the story most if not all the pilots are Human+ (cyborgs, at best. Implication is 621 isn't just brain fried, but a clone). The difference in responsiveness is the in-game reason AC's can tear through scores of MTs, although augmented by having a better class of gear since they're all custom work. As an analogy, if they were just soldiers on the ground some merc having kevlar with ceramic plates and a custom rigged assault rifle isn't going to let him mow through scores of guys in flak jackets carrying AKs just by itself.

You can save color sets. When you click color set, there's different categories. One of which is User or custom or something, which you can save presets to. In case you make various ones you wanna swap between for different mech builds or for any reason.

Wander, about your comment near the end about you being the bad guy... You are a mercenary. A gun for hire. You are not supposed to think about whether or not what you're doing is moral. You can, but that's not in your job description. You are supposed to not think about anything except the mission, killing people, getting paid, and doing it all over again, this time for the guys you just fought against because they have a nice paycheck to offer you. Otherwise, nice gameplay, hope to see more of this.

I also want to point out some things about Armored Core 6, specially for people that have not played an AC game before: - AC6 has a lot of replay value due to the decisions made throughout the campaign (that includes multiple endings), as well as the unlockables of New Game + and beyond! - For all newcomer Ravens, you DO NOT need to have played the previous AC games to get into this one, very similar on how Final Fantasy dev teams create its titles. - Plays different from Souls - same smooth, responsive controls. - Long range arsenal: bazookas, gatling guns, split missiles, plasma rifles and more. - Melee weaponry: Cluster bomb thrower, chainsaw, pulse blade, lances and more. - The movement speed is between AC3 and AC5 - There is a heavy on customization. - Tons of custom paint jobs and the posibility of downloading weapons for making decals. - Legs are one of the most important parts of your mech, because they determine how much weight your vehicle can carry. - Your power engine / energy source is on other one as it modifies the amount of energy available, as well as how slow or fast your energy bar will recharge, when its depleted.

I noticed that too. It's actually part of the reason I'm slightly torn on whether to buy it or not. It feels more like you're playing iron man than a gundam. I feel like they didn't get the sense of scale quite right.

@@KaleRylan That weird disconnect is a fundamental part of the power fantasy. You'll notice that most of the non-AC opponents you fight: the "fodder" slow moving ground-bound bipedal mechs without jet boosters, tanks, gun turrets... they're slow, they're plodding. Armored Cores fight on an entirely different level. They utilize technology a generation ahead of what the average line soldier is capable of, they zip around like faeries, they jump around like grasshoppers. That's why they're so fearsome on the battlefield, they violate 'common sense'. You're in a jet fighter while your foes are cavemen. It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea. For a sense of scale and weight and heft, you'd be looking into something more like Mechwarrior.

@@KaleRylanthe technology in these AC is very advanced unlike your traditional mech these AC are basically fighter jets with arms and legs a gundam would have hard time against AC even Valkyries will struggle only other mech 2 universe could fight AC would be total eclipse there technology similar to AC technology and front mission

@@KaleRylan So many people think Gundam's mobile suits are heavy and slow when they've only been shown to be so VERY RARELY with shows like the 08th MS Team. Even in the mostly-grounded UC era they tend to be about as maneuverable as these ACs.

I used to really like these games when I was a kid. I remember renting them here and there and getting into them. I was like you - I liked playing them, but I kinda sucked a them lol. I don't think I fully understood what was going on, but I think that made them even more interesting. They had a certain vibe and feeling to them that made them alluring and addictive. If this one gives of those same vibes then I'm sure it'll be pretty sweet and I'll like it. It really comes down to how much customization we'll have. It would be nice if you could upgrade the stuff you like with different effects and stuff like that too. I really like painting and pimping out mechs. Equipping them with super cool weapons and trying to make the most elite killing machine possible. Hopefully there's plenty of content that's fun to replay. Did you like it though Wanderbot? Do you think you'll get into this and put any real time into it?

Also, I'm pretty sure you can copy and paste the entire color set by going clicking on the color set, though they definitely didn't make it obvious. If you haven't tried it already, you can press F when looking at parts to get A LOT more information, including how their charge fires are handled and what your scan range is. Similarly, you can press V to get a description of what each state means, though some of them remain annoyingly vague. Finally, Wander, you are DEFINITELY the bad guy at the moment, or at least you're the pawn of a bad guy. The AC series has never been shy about its anti-corporate greed themes and VI is very on the nose with its allusions to imperialism and exploiting colonies/foreign lands for natural resources, even if it means a forever war. Seriously, just replace Coral with Oil and Rubicon III with Middle East.

There is a big diff between MTs and ACs in this game universe. An enemy AC would basically always be a Mini-Boss or Boss-Fight. MTs are the grunts. Lore wise there is more to it than that but its the easiest way of explaining it without doing a massive lore dump

i will be honest here something felt off here while watching through the video, and i realised what is was when re-watched the video and cutscene at the beginning played. the gun fire and movement sound effects are nearly non-existent, and it is due to wander's habit of always turning down sound effects all the way down.

I feel like SOOOO many ppl just completely forget that Assisted Targeting, Assault Boost & the fookin LASER BLADE exists whenever they reach the BIG Helicopter boy. Quite a few ppl I've watched so far end up struggling with the guy more than necessary.

That's because the helicopter is a massive difficulty spike out of nowhere, and most players haven't had the time to build up an understanding for how the game works, let alone the deeper mechanics. Unless you're an expert AC player, it's a heck of a wall.

Seen a lot of folk get folded by that whirly bird cause they forget that bonking the thing with Shiny Laser Blade is a option! XD I'll admit I haven't gotten my hands on the game yet, so I don't know how I may fare... but it does feel like it'd be a logical conclusion to come up with all the pop ups & dialogue. Idk

The one thing I regret is playing it with controller. It was designed to be that way. Pushing the limits takes M/KB and manual aim. You don't get that chance with a controller. It's also not nearly as comfortable no matter how high the ceiling is. Controller will get you through all end game. M/KB will make for better PVP and nothing is going to change that.

Nice guess, but in the original Armored Core lore, MT stands for "Muscle Tracer", which evolved to "Cored MTs" as they became more modular, and finally "Armored Cores". By AC4 The outdated MTs and old-style ACs became known as NORMALS, while the players pilot a new generation of machines known as NEXTs.

I dunno. The game looks great visually. I love mechs in general but this also looks boring to me... Where does all this hype come from? Just from the fact that it's a from Software game?
