I had a feeling the moment I heard the music, as it immediately reminded me of the music from previous AC games. And boy, was I hyped when I saw that Armored Core on screen. It's been 10 years, and it's about time.
The series has had a ton of soft reboots. This is definitely a reboot, reworked from the ground up with fast-paced soulsborne combat. (Confirmed) I believe they called it VI to keep with tradition. Calling it VI doesn't necessarily mean it's a direct sequel to V. It's the sixth main game and not a spinoff or small side project, so it gets called VI. Also to avoid the stupid shit other companies do... Calling God of War 4... God of War. God of War already exists... Call of Duty Modern Warfare Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.... both already fucking exist... Doom 5 being called... Doom.. already exists.. It's so stupid. Makes talking about the games annoying.. gotta specify the year and if you don't, people can get confused.. I appreciate FromSoftware not being stupid, not being pretentious, and just calling it what it is. Armored Core VI
I definitely appreciate that as well. Glad to see it doesn't just go for the easy "ARMORED CORE" reboot title and keeps things from being super confusing.
That seems to be more a western developer thing as I can't think of a Japanese game that did that. But I completely agree with you, I can't even believe they think it's a good idea to name a game the same as the first in the series... So stupid and confusing.
There have been fan theories that all games are connected with 2 different timelines. 4-4A-5-VD-ps1 games-2 4-4A-5-VD-3- the rest of the ps2 games I like to think 6 also branches off from verdict day Got to wait and see I guess

I called Armored Core when I saw the red blip. But the only reason was because FS already admitted about a year ago they were working on a mech game. Now if we can remember the old Elden Ring leaks that suggested that we would go around collecting the limbs of our enemies? There was AC leaks IN the ER rumor leaks.

What do you mean not next gen? Its for PS5 and PS4 as well as both gens for xbox. Mostly likely they have a downgraded version for last gen because not everyone can afford or get the next gen.
I think what I meant was it's not exclusive to next-gen. I trust FromSoft overall so I'm not worried about it, but I prefer newer games at this point to be exclusive to next gen just so I can be sure the developers are using as much of these new consoles' power as possible. FromSoft still might, but I know a lot of others kinda just present PS4-caliber games that are a bit higher resolution and more stable framerates rather than presenting PS5-caliber games that get downgraded for PS4. Regardless though, that's such a minor concern in any case. This game is going to be sick
Basically games are held back by their lowest common denominator. They are weak links in a chain. Console games for example just for being on console at all, means they aren't true next gen because PCs are WAY more advanced than consoles. The only reason PC games even look like console games are because they HAVE to be playable alongside weaker components. So as long as games are still being made for PS4, they will hold back Next Gen games. Just like a PS5, or a PS6 will always hold back PCs. Been this way since they stopped making pure exclusives for PC, which consoles couldn't ever touch back when they did.
