If a wolf has armor they don't take damage till it breaks. The hit that breaks the armor doesn't damage the wolf either.

If I'm not mistaken, the armor is technically a really massive health boost. They become essentially invincible until the armor itself breaks then you just have a normal dog.

Do note guys that the armour only protects from PHYSICAL damage, so explosions, fall damage etc. will do no damage till the armour breaks, potion effects should be able to do damage same with drowning and i have no idea about piercing crossbow

I'd say that's balanced. Potions, flint and steel, and lava still being useful. A dog army is fun and powerful but a couple splash potions and they are reduced.

Basically the armor is like Shield points from other video games. 64 of them and they protect 100% against the damage they work on, even on the attack that broke it.

They doubled its base hp but also doubled the damage it takes, so it's still the same amount of health. They did it that way to make player damage less against dogs while still maintaining the same amount of damage from other sources Essentially, they reduced damage you deal to your own dogs. But otherwise the health is the same

I like that armor actually does something, for multiplayer it might need tweaking but I like not being afraid to take my wolf with me.
