Well thank goodness, the question ha been answered. With Jean Butler, Michael Flatley and River Dance, popularising Irish Dancing worldwide, I have often wondered if there was significance with the arms held close but knew that especially with Mr Flatley, that it was not always so strict that the arms were not extended. In the clips from this video, it shows hoe more expressive the dancing is when the arms are used. Thanks for the upload Lulu.
