Yes! You need a grade in your leaving certificate but not fluency. All drill, parade and ceremonial commands are conducted through Irish. Not an obstacle though, its like like learning acronyms for your favourite sport, game or hobby. If you are interested you will pick it up if not it sounds like Double Dutch. like when I take my car to the mechanic and he starts spouting engine terminology or when you bring your phone or laptop to the repair shop and the helpful tech assistants starts spewing IT words.
Im a bit late to this but do you mean 2nd brigade? You can choose between 1st or second brigade when joining the army but they tell you what battalion you'll be going into after training. Also you need to be 18
