+Camdyn Standley threre is a game coming out for xbox one called The Mean Greens Plastic Warfare , check it out there is only 4 secons of gameplay and no info but just letting you know
I must admit, like many of us here Sarge's heroes 1&2 was my childhood and then I moved on from army men games never knew they was another game from Sarge saga. Until I just found out about this part III and to learn about what happened to story from where I left off is depressing. I miss the old comedic Sarge and the old vibe.
This game was awesome it saddens me how the story ended and i really wish in the near future that sarge makes one hell of a comeback and ill be waiting for that day real soon. But right now, Thank you sarge and Bravo company for the wild ride
The story is that Malice steals Army Men infantry molds, and at the end he has the Crew's molds in his lab. (probably from the real world) So it's saying there is infinite Vickis, Grimm, Scorch, Hoover, et.c. There will be more. It's basically saying Army Men will be back. So they didn't really die.
Before 3DO went bankrupt, they said the ending suggests that the capsules were keeping the Heroes alive and well. The molding that Lord Malice stole were used to create clones of Colonel Grimm, Picky and the heroes. Malice never intended to actually kill them. Just to make Sergeant Hawk understand the pain he went through.
@@goldcoins8515 Couldn't find anything official that 3DO said, so it's probably just internet hearsay. Then again, it could also be from a publication that's long since lost to time. I've heard this theory before as well, and it's plausible I suppose. As a kid, I always thought they were just meant to be gravestones or something like that, or things capable of recreating the people who died.
If Sarge didn't waste his time talking to Malice, he could've saved everyone. How depressing. Though, at the end of the game it's hinted that Malice created clones of Sarge's friends and sent them to Green Town, and THEY were the ones who died. Malice apparently has the real guys... but that doesn't explain why one of the coffin-things is open, and empty...
3030sonic there’s a game where it explains he uses the heroes drain and make super soldiers, but one turns green and your that soldier, it’s arcade style and only moving forward, but explains a lot
Really iconic and memorable, I like it how they made it look serious. Heck, I first watched it when I was 11 years old. I watched it a hundred times and it never gets bored for me, i don't know why but It's so entertaining and very influential even though it's a PS2 Video Game based on the Army Men Toys.
This destroyed my childhood memories of when Army Men was fun i.e. Sarge heroes, Green Rogue, Air Attack. Then again, it is slightly comforting to know that the deaths may be of copies. I also sense some similarities to Max Payne 1 in terms of his deadpan voice and the ending. (Max Payne: "They were all dead.")
This game was good, grimdark, but it didn't feel overbearing or edgy. A vengeance mission that sarge departed on not because it would fulfill him, but because he had nothing else to live for. The shooting was fun and getting your arm or head blown off at low health too, and I still remember those shotgun tans in the plastic mines killing me several times. Good stuff.
+Exposed Brain Films Airborne Coyote There is also blue (used as spies in the cannon),orange (mentioned by Plastro) and red (during the spider machine mission)
I really don't like how they took Army Men and made it super serious and gritty out of the blue. Not even the original PC Army Men games were THIS serious. I mean come on, these games are about toy soldiers coming to life and killing each other!
@Natalie Case the XM8 was used because when the game was being developed it was the expected replacement Even military games (rather games designed around war) have a habit of doing this
@Natalie Case you're the one that said they ignored the M4, they didn't. They just went with the most likely firearm to be used by the military when the game was being designed
@Natalie Casethe M4 was adopted in the 90's, long before this game was conceived You don't see the M4 often in the game because the M4 was never a common weapon, almost exclusively used for urban environments. The M4 has also never been used on army men (nor has the XM8, but it was trying to modernize Abit) It wasn't skipped, it just made no sense for them to have M4's
@Natalie Case it's a mixed environment. To us it'd be urban ,but due to size differences Except the M4 didn't, it's widescale deployment occurred during 2003-2005 with the Iraq and Afghan invasion And even then it was purely because it's a carbine instead of a full size rifle, and we were in an environment where most engagements we're expected to be close range with having to do otherwise a rarity The Marines kept the M16 until 2015..again because there was never any need for more than a carbine (but kept the M27 for marksman) The environments in which they fight in these games however ranges, and can rapidly shift Making the M4 a poor choice What are you talking about a shape of mag? Stanag is merely the dimensions, not looks. It's purely there so that forces can interchange magazines as needed There are 30rd mags and 10rnd mags that fit it even some 5rnd Shape, and looks mean nothing
What are with those weapons they're so weird plus they are SILVER! Everyone knows Green carries Green Weapons Tan, Tan weapon Blue, Blue weapons Grey, Grey weapons Red, Red weapons
I can't believe they killed off everyone in this game what BS *sigh* This better be some twisted dream sarge had so it can go back to it's funny comedy games.
I actually liked this game and the gameplay, but I'm with you about everyone dying; for all intents and purposes, this is the end of Sarge's story. From Sarge's Heroes, through Air Attack and Green Rogue, it all ended here... especially considering that the few games that came after this were apparently terrible. Ah well... "Real Combat, Plastic Men". The catch phrase we'll always remember.
It was ridiculous, but that's only because 3DO didn't completely make it. Global Star purchased and took control of the game when 3DO went bankrupt, and now we have the dark and edgy Sarge's War.
Why "ridiculous" ?This game didn't have the charm the other games had,for sure, but overall it was much better and a lot more polished than 3DO's games(okay, maybe all of them except RTS)
Sadly I never ended up playing this one, I was like 9 when it came out and I ended up missing the release date and didn't see it anywhere. I also listened to the bad reviews when pretty much all of the army men games I liked got bad reviews. This game also came out the year my dad died so it would've been pretty intense for me
I remember getting this game as a gift from my older brother when I was a kid. He got it used from Gamestop for cheap and the disk was damaged, so I never actually got to play it because it would always give me errors before I could get anywhere. On a whim, I decided to look this video up and, wow, I don't think it would've sunk in when I was so young, but it's really screwed up that they'd just kill off the whole cast like that. I see some comments mentioning that something implies they were copies and not Sarge's actual friends, but I don't know how much I buy that. Even if it is the official word, it seems like a major stretch. What, this dude was bitter toward Sarge and set up a terrorist attack to destroy everything he held dear, but before actually doing that he captured all of his friends and replaced them with doubles? What's the point of that other than the irl functional purpose of keeping the whole cast around for potential future games? What, was he gonna go "Haha, it's just a prank, bro"? He still set off a bomb at a peace ceremony, destroyed a town and killed a whole bunch of people. All in all, this game's story feels like somebody was just given a list of character names and was told "idk, it's a war game. Make a sequel."
I used to watch these as a kid i played with them i always wanted to go to the army here i am today i still think about joining the army i guess old habbits die hard
You know since 3DO was bankrupt there hasn’t been an army man game like this one or the previous ones in years. If they made another army man game where you can customize your army soldier with each rank you achieve. The story would be like the first army men game, then when you reach Sargent it would be like this, when you reach captain it would be like Sarg’s heroes both one and 2 combined where you enter the big world. And you meet a girl similar to Viki and her game adventures. Then the war’s over where you get the girl and retire in what rank you finish, you can stay the rank of captain or come a Colonel.
They need to take it back to Sarge's Heroes when all of the weapons were actually plastic, the stories/humour were more lighthearted and the series was at its best. The franchise died after RTS. I hope Army Men gets a reboot like what happened with Tomb Raider or at least carries on somehow. I didn't see Bridgette Bleu anywhere? Maybe she was released from prison and went back to her home world where Sarge eventually meets up with her, manage to track down that magician from Portal Runner and revive Bravo Company in someway.
Even if everyone is dead there are still Alpha Wolf Battalion, the Green Rogue, Bullseye, Tannenberg and Brigitte Bleu to work with, not to mention the weirdos from Portal Runner.
you know if they remaster the "Army Men" series, they'll be able to get really graphic with the animations that you wouldn't be able to see with normal human looking subjects.
Army Men II got rated by one of the Brazilian rating boards for PC, PS4, Xbox One. Apparently it's the same rating board that got a date for a Digimon game & Quantum Break. Fingers crossed.
This was the last game made by some of the original developers of 3do. It might reference the fact that the company went bankrupt. Sad end to the company and the series...
That's according to 3DO. It does make sense really. Why else would Malice have capsules of the Sarge's lover, commanding officer and heroes inside his base?
Spartanking331 I couldn't agree more with that he was a bullet magnet. I played the same game and when I found the prison in the kitchen. I realized that there are still green soldiers out there
I waited for so long for the Army Men series to come to pass and still nothing?! Can't there be a sequel like this but with more better graphics, enemy AI, more maturity, and much more better cutscenes with better voice acting, let alone make it comparable to Battlefield or COD?
I got legitimately surprised that the previous villain/leader of the Tan Army actually was on the peace treaty cerimony and ended up killed in the process. I mean, he actually accepted the peace treaty, and ended up killed for that. So, this isn't a war between nations anymore, is about two factions... and one of them only has one man standing.
Sarge wasn't the only soldier left, there were others that we can even save throughout the game, he was just the only one able to make a dent in Malice's forces.
