Today, I'll be sharing a few speed paint tips while I paint the Necrotech Wraithriders. First, I prime the minis-batch priming multiple at once saves time. Then, I move on to dry brushing with gray, followed by white. The focus is on highlighting the raised areas, especially the face to make it pop.
Next, I work on details like hoses, metal plates, exhaust ports, and the rings around their eyes. I thin matte white with speed paint medium to brighten their eyes and exhaust ports for a glowing effect once I add the teal. A quick white highlight on their teeth adds menace, and I use slaughter red for a bloody, battle-worn touch on the weapons.
For the base, I dry brush the rocks with dark stone and lighter shades of gray, then finish with matte black. Finally, I coat the minis in satin varnish to protect the paint and deepen the colors. I’m really happy with how the Wraithriders turned out-the glowing details and metallics really stand out.
