Non deployable is a bad word for them, because this is by choice. Think of the countless vets that grinded and fought to stay in after amputations, being wounded, etc. it's a disgrace to them. This is legit malingering.

My husband retired out of Nellis Air Force Base. When we go to the bx or commissary, we are shocked by how out of shape and sloppy so many troops are. It’s an embarrassment.
What is the use if these troops are not deployable. Very confusing times we live in. The focus should be on training and winning wars. Let’s go Army!!!

The United States military will pay for stuff like this BUT...people like my brother, who lost his leg due to wounds in actual combat action ( and bad docs) has to fight...fight for crappy healthcare! My husband became a type 1 diabetic at age 29 six months after returning from Iraq (where he had just re-enlisted). He has no family history and no genetic markers for diabetes, his pancreas just stopped producing insulin for some unknown, to us, reason. Despite having glowing reviews from his higher ups and doctors he was medically discharged due to his inability to deploy. During out processing the troop sitting next to him was being discharged for the same exact thing! Currently my husband works with another former military member who was also forced out due to becoming type 1 diabetic out of the blue. My husband can't even get a decent rating from the VA while these people have elective procedures on our dime! It is very maddening to say the least.

If an enemy of America took over our military and wanted to do everything possible to destroy any sense of morale and team cohesiveness, ensuring that we are never again able to win another war, then this is exactly the kind of thing you would expect them to do.
If you look you'll see we haven't won a war since WWII. We didn't actually win that one we were just the last man standing because we had the manufacturing capability to out-produce all our enemies. Not anymore. After 18 months of sending ammo to Ukraine we're standing on the grinder with our pockets turned inside out. If we get in a real war where we we get our ammo from? China?

My Grandfather was a Tech 5 in the 1636th Eng Btn in WWII. I'm going to pop down to the cemetery to make sure he hasn't spun out of his grave. He served in both the European and Pacific theaters and received a bronze star. 😢

here is the point they are not fit to fight they are out of shape no matter trans or not and they will probably break under pressure . A NCO or commissioned officer their job is to take care of the situation and lead this people are not leaders and one is a captain which is scary .

Why would you want to join the army if your biggest concern is having your nails look pretty and smelling nice. IT IS THE DAMN ARMY. Getting covered in filth and sweat after days in the field is a part of the job.
Having an NCO or OIC with short man syndrome is bad enough, imagine what it will be like when someone like this wants to take control and prove themselves, not to mention they are virtually untouchable by discrimination laws. A lot of bad decisions can be made and carried out.

I'm SOOO glad I'm retired from the Army. This silliness was filtering in as my career was winding down. It's VERY sad what our military is turning into. And now the Defense Department is wondering why recruitment is down.
Our military has been shameful for a while. Look at Iraqi freedom and all subsequent involvements. The US government systematically destabilizes regions of the world, collapses governments, installs dictators (we put Sadam in power and let him be a genocidal maniac until it effected our oil supply), create famines through sanctions, support tyrannical regimes (Saudi Arabia and its war in Yemen). What good has our military actually done in the last 30 years?

We actually caught mentally ill folks early on in our basic training cycle and out they went. That was in the 1980's when straight, patriotic, normal folks ran the military. Not sure now. Judging by the wokeness at the highest level, it's gotta be bad, really bad. Feel sorry for the young, impoverished fighters that join up to actually serve and escape poverty, and have to leave due to this nonsense. Bad for us as a country.

Simple respect is almost gone, saluting, greetings....for awhile at Fort Knox, Reveille, Morning Colors,Evening Colors and Taps were not sounded....I promise this happened...due to " Garrison bothering the neighbors." New Garrison Commander came in and started it all back up , he said " The neighbors knew we are the famous Fort Knox when they moved in!"

With a severe recruiting problem...how does creating a class of non-deployable, non-PT soldiers help? Surely the mission comes first? Combat Effectiveness is obviously not something the CoC thinks exists anymore.

Question from a retired Marine of 28 years, if these medications, psychological care, and surgeries are approved while in, does that equate to instant 100% disability? Remember, it is care provided for surgeries during active duty. We all know that transgender people require continuous medical maintenance. Something to think about or look into as we move forward.
Imagine how much sick call and days incapacitated by being medicated and in medical care, this is a liability and as much as hiring a disabled personnel in active duty, it reduces the effectiveness in a mission.

So, they can't pass the APFT and can't deploy. They are exempt from the APFT and from deployment. Their pay should be cut by 40% and only be allowed to serve one 4 year term. They should only be allowed to re-enlist if they can pass the APFT and be fully deployable. This undermines the readiness, morale, discipline, deployability, combat readiness and combat effectiveness of the Army and Military as a whole. It also interferes with the safety of the Nation.

A recruiting crisis is a military draft opportunity. They wouldn't do a military draft without control of it's direction. Maybe General Rainbowshidtles will be a great commander. Not deploying with the forces, commanding from home in their PJs, make up tutorials for clown shows and their other benefits should not be dismissed.
