Well deserved for the great man. The actor James Arness always walked tall.Thank You to John Wayne for requesting James to take the role of Matt Dillon in "Gunsmoke".
Thank you , I can't believe CBS Did not do this for the best tv show on Earth. I love Gunsmoke & James Arness plus all the rest of the crew. James, Doc , Kitty, Fetus made that show a big hit.
Always loved 🥰 James. Arness even as a child I would watch Gunsmoke and I still watch all the reruns. Still my favorite show. Along with wanted dead or alive . This is a beautiful thing you all are doing. RIP James. 🙏🥰🦋🌈🇺🇸
There would have been no one else to Star in this role except James Arness. It fit him right down to his boots. I love the show and still watch all the re runs on TV. T have even recorded several, just in case I get sick and can't go anywhere I can just watch them all day long. What a great man he truly was. God Bless him forever.
WONDERFUL TRIBUTE. LOVED JAMES ARNESS IN GUNSMOKE!!! I STILL WATCH THE RERUNS EVERY NIGHT. GOD BLESS YOU JAMES IN HEAVEN. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 P.S. wish the guy in blue shirt would have moved out of of the way of the camerman.😬😬😬😬
Nice statue of James Arness. May you rest in peace. I sure love your shows on Gunsmoke, you,Kitty, Festus and the rest who appeared on Gunsmoke. ❤❤❤ I still watch everyday.
James Arness, a highly-decorated WW2 veteran, reminded me very much of my father. They were both around the same age, both large men and James portrayed law enforcement and my father was a Chicago cop. I was in awe of both men! BTW...Gunsmoke was my late father's favorite show so I believe he identified with James Arness. RIP dad and James!
Been watching alot of the early 1955 to 65 episodes on INSP, never seen them so it's like watching a new show.....best show ever, fun to see some of the guest that went on to other shows.....Matt Dillon, greatest TV character ever
Shows today are awful. My son told me the other night daddy Yellowstone is bad for young kids to hear and see. Gunsmoke was never like that always clean and never heard a curse word. I miss this show that’s why I own the DVD’s. Never watch TV anymore including news . Loved all the characters from Gunsmoke seem like family. God bless you all!!!
I'm 71 years old. I can remember being small enough to cuddle up on the couch with my dad to watch Saturday night Have Gun Will Travel and Gunmoke. No I didn't spell it wrong. My little brother could not pronounce Gunsmoke, which was forever known as Gunmoke around our house.
R t early episodes still in b/w? I heard somewhere they r going to b in color. I want to purchase t entire 20 yrs, but I want t b/w episodes. I love Matt & Kitty.
For me, I'm nearly 70. GUN SMOKE was a permanent fixture in our home. My dad would call us in to watch our favorite western show. My brother & I would be wearing our western clothes, our 6 shooters & cowboy hat.
It would have been good if the videographer had taken some closer shots of the statue and tacked them on the end of the presentation. I imagine that his heart was in the right place.
James Arness and John Wayne were my heroes !! I grew up watching these westerns movies with my daddy and at night I still watch gunsmoke !!! I am 59 and married for 42 years and I still need my fix of matt Dillon !! lol
The honor was great and it was a touching tribute but the video was terrible for such a special moment. Would have liked to seen closer up and heard what Janet was saying but it turned right in the middle. I got tired looking at people's arms and feet
We love and respect this beautiful human being for the unselfish work he did for this country to save us and to bless us with beautiful television work 💕❤️❤️🙏🙏💕❤️🙏
What a waste. My neighbor and Father's best friend James Arness being Honored and we cannot hear a thing!!! JUST CARS and Janet and others screaming over the noise. Oh well. Another terrible video but, our Memories of GUNSMOKE and a wonderful Family Friend cannot ever be destroyed. FOND MEMORIES. RIP MR., ARNESS. RIP Ken Curtis.
Que bueno que le hicieron ese omenaje a este hombre maravilloso que nos hizo sonar de ninos fue mi heroe .por los anos secentas el marshal Dillon felizidades desde zacatecas Mexico.
James Arness and his son were really good surfers..his son world the world championship in Oz in 1970 at Bells Beach..there is video of James and Rolf surfing double overhead waves together likes it's 3 foot at Malibu..very impressive I bet you had no clue...? I knew his son and surfed with him in the early 90's..a likably fellow.
Buck showing up in his Best pair of jeans . . smh Do you think Jim would show up looking like that for him and others ? AND Whoever filmed this Absolutely SUCKS at it !!! SERIOUSLY , a Very Poor Presentation To James - and IN Dodge 4CS !
@@markharrison2544 Yea now they have to ruin everything with "Diversity" ...Nowadays 100 actors show up for an audition and they'll give the part to a person of color, female, or LBGTQ before even looking at a str8 white male. That's the reason EVERY movie or tv series sux now!
@Dusk Hollow jeolous fools who never accomplish ANYTHING in life just get on internet and complain & prove their STUPIDITY. Actor from 50's? Idiot. Tty 50's, 60''s 70's and beyond. James Arness was a US Army Hero getting shot terribly & wounded for life in Anzio, Italy. By Nazi machine gun fire. 18 months in hospital. He worked in Radio first then got a contract with john Wayne. Wayne convinced him to do GUNSMOKE. 20 YEAR TV SUCCESS. PLUS, SEVERAL FILMS. AMANDA BLAKE A CANCER SURVIVOR and suffering with AIDS her cruel husband gave to her even came back to work with James on film. James had many losses too in personal life. Overdose by his first wife and suicide by a daughter who worked in Gunsmoke several episodes. RIP MR. JAMES ARNESS. Thank you for 40 years of memories! My family loved you! Dear family friend. RIP
