Mentzer sounds like a punk in that telephone interview. As if he's some kind of tough guy Arnold was afraid of. Bullocks! Arnold would have mopped the floor with Mentzer in a physical confrontation. Oh and on training styles. How many people injured themselves doing the so called HD Training system vs. the Weider Training Principles Arnold used, even before he got to America? I know for a fact Mentzer's system damaged a lot of people who tried it. Mentzer tried to cash in on a fast track training system that never worked for anyone that wasn't on a ton of roids. He was a typical huckster and a charlatan making money off people looking for a faster and easier method....and it didn't work. Today the Cult of Mentzer still lives on while the guys doing the Weider System make gains, and the HD one set boys don't...or else they get hurt.

I cannot comment on Arnold today, but I knew Arnold in the 1980s. We worked out at Gold's gym together. Our connection was Corvettes and weight training. I still have a photo of us and our cars together. We are the same height, but he was so massively developed that he appeared much bigger than me. I remember mad training days where there were no rules, we just pumped one weight until we could not lift another inch. We did that over and over for hours. Back then, Arnold was a very nice guy. I saw no dark side or anything like that. He was already very famous but did not act like a Hollywood bigshot. If was not for his size, fame and accent, you would think he was a regular guy. He did have one difference .. Women waited in line to be with him.

Some parents are just quite harsh and cannot\will-not see the harm they can\do to their children. I remember when I was a boy, 11, 12.. when my mum got angry with me she had this habit of constantly, in utter rage at times, wishing me a future and existence lower than that of a tramp, zero success, someone utterly down and out, and who would have nothing whatsoever, as if in the dirt and with hardly clothing covering my behind. Such were constantly her wishes for me, like evil prophecies. You can not say such things to your children and think they are going to honour you the way they should honour a real mother\parent, when you behave like a cruel enemy towards them. Many parents are indeed abusive, like destructive forces to their own children.

Basically so insulting it's borderline funny given it's your own parents who say that. I'm 36 now so I don't have any ill feelings towards them, I still love them but reflecting upon the physical and psychological abuse at times I'd say they were on the stricter/more punishing side, probably not too far but slightly above average. But maybe I'm actually blessed, I have no reference point after all. Sometimes, these slightly more abusive/harsh parents help their children come out on top by toughening them up. It worked with Max Verstappen where his father went way beyond than what my parents did (IIRC), but he's more of an exception than the rule and an extreme one at that. Most children don't possess the mental fortitude, energy and drive to thrive under such parenting. I remember being really nervous every day at school, so my grades deteriorated for a few years so that type of parenting unfortunately did nothing for me at all.

@@libertarianPinoy Really with the exception of Rape, Murder, or violent physical attack, and from all these there is some ablity to mount a defense; how do you succeed in ruining a person? If they have brains, some brawn, and plenty of guts they should develop the ablity to defend themselves against any actor or action that would cause them ruination. While I was limiting my thoughts to the competitive world it extenda to business and finances as well. If you don't do your homework and do the deal with the wrong financial institutions and corporations and get burned IT'S on you fella. If the institution is the only game in town, like the IFBB let's say, you just have to learn to play the game as they want you too to become and remain a success. It's always a level playing field you can do as much to "ruin" the other person as he can do to you. That's the way of the real world. If it's wrong we're all wrong and unless you're a monk or a "Casper milk toast", you engage with the world in the same manner as I and Arnold do, you just don't see your actions clearly, and definitely don't get the same results. But those that out perform you are not worse humans than you. We all look out for, # 1 first if we're any kind of success at all.

I would rather be a loser in this life and gain eternal life by faith in YHWH and His Son, than to be an eternal loser like Arnold. I gave the same lecture to Rich Piana 2 years before he died. I think he changed before he died, but never said so. I did see some humility and a lot of introspection in Rich during the last year of his life. I pray he chose to believe in the D.B.R. of Jesus.

If you read his book - Total Recall. Its just amazing how he was at the exact time, exact moment for each of his careers. Bodybuilding was just starting and there was no leading men with character so it was Arnod who became one. Same with movie industry, he just got in after Sly has made a few movies and having well built body was a must to become an action star.Same was with his businesses, You can read in the book the way he went through military service. There were so many lucky parts in his life. If he was born 20 years earlier, he wouldn't be where he is today, simply because of the technology. But also to say that there were 5billion more people who were living in exact same period as Arnold and they didn't benefit of all that simply because they were not visionary and didn't work hard

Arnold went to London in 1666...he's a time traveler, too! Pic at roughly 11:16 was of the Mr. O in Essen in 1972, not 1970. As for Arnold's dark past, we know that he's never been faithful to his girlfriends before Maria, or even after, if those reports are true, and they seem to be. His father joined the Naz* party because not doing so would've marked him and the authorities probably would've jailed him or done something worse. AFAIK, the elder Schwarzeneggar never participated in atrocities that the other members of hitler's armed forces did. Arnold's always been after power; that much is true. But he was never like his father and he's cultivated friends from all walks of life. He's definitely a complicated person, far from perfect, but in terms of bodybuilding, no one's done more for the sport/art than Arnold. Just my take on all this.

I find there are loads of mistakes in this video that's hard to watch it. Loads of stuff taking from pumping iron which is well known to have been scripted and not to be factual. The time lines are over the place. The point people are making about Arnold being a bad person because of the mind games is nonsense. Look at modern mma or boxing stars they all do the same thing. Indeed there was some favouritism later on when he was so well known. This was the same with Ronnie in the last olympia he won Jay cutler should of won. Point being there are many stars of different sports that will do whatever it takes to be the best. Isolating out Arnold as some big baddie when there has been so many since that have been just as self centered and narcistic is wrong

I was a big Arnold fanboy in the 80's and 90's. I even met him and got a picture with him. But over time, my fanism has soured. He promised so much as a governor but largely failed and did nothing to clean up CA politics. In fact, it only got worse. He had no idea what he was doing and really should not have run for office. Sure, he could win an election, but then what? He needed to actually do the job. After so many years of preaching conservative poltics, he is now preaching global warming and bashing Trump who is actually DOING all the things that Arnold preached. Watching Arnold now trying to stay relevant is just pathetic. All his failures as a familiy man cannot be easily forgiven. All the years he said that he has matured and left his womanizing behind? Nope. He cheated on Maria from day one and just kept doing it. Then all the steroids. Funny, I still train and maintain a good physique in my 50's. Arnold certainly had a big influence on that. But he was a big time steroid user. He lied about it over and over. Arnold carefully decides what he lets people know about him. I guess that is his choice. But there are so many lies, I just can't really care about him anymore.

Without framing Davis and manipulating the recall process, Arnold never would have become governor because he could not have beaten other Republicans in a primary election. I don’t think he’s a narcissist. Narcissus are inherently unsure of themselves, he on the other hand is leaking confidence without a doubt. It’s impossible to get above certain level of success without making some questionable decisions, compromises. He was smart enough to know what he wanted but most importantly he knew what he had to do to achieve it and had guts to do so. Also he seems very conscious about everything he had done and acknowledges it - doesn’t try to say it was someone else’s fault.

At around 23:00 the host forgot to mention that people know for a fact that Arnold was the first to use the then unknown and therefore undetectable GH. He already had a "genetic" for it, as you can tell by his teeth and head. But if you take notice on those same features in his "already adult but not quite" pics, and his later Olmypia pics, he has much more spaced teeth which does not come from the actual teeth effects from GH, but for the growth of the connective tissue in your face when you take GH, that wont grow past your first "blow" of puberty until you get old, over 50, and your connective tissue do not actually "grow that much" but it doesnt shrink as much as the rest. That is why old people often have big ears, hands, feet, etc. The change in there denotes he was taking not small doses of a specific type of GH, and therefore, while not judging the use of it, I think it is cheating because others would not be aware they could. The abuse of these kinds of GH is what a while back also brought the Palumbism, which is the "next side effect" should you keep doing it and growing your use. When your organs start to grow for the use of GH, your gut gets bloated, and a lot of things get messed up because your body wasnt ready to that growth. Anyway, you can know that now, as I mentioned, because you can see in old Arnold the effects of having used GH of that type when he was young. On top of that, people know for a fact that Arnould took Methandrostenolone and Stanozolol, at the time, also, not something that anyone could just find a nice "pharmacist to buy", and when taken "correctly" if there is such thing, they will also promote a "inflated aspect" that do something before you "lose water gain": It opens your bones to look larger. This effect is normal in bodybuilders, which will look as if they have longer necks, but it is just that their traps being developed push the shoulders down. The game effect those african girls do with the rings. When you take a drug that inflates your muscles like Methandrostenolone, it forces that effect, but when you stop, it deflates the muscle, but the bone structure wont go back as it was, even if the muscle size does. Stanozolol selectively enhances the growth from certain muscle fibers, which make the strenght and thickness of the muscle develop faster. That is why it is called "powerlifter gear". That when carefully dosed with methandrostenolone, makes you see incredible "striation" and also enhances the effects of methandrostenolone in changing bone structure. All that you can see now in old Arnold as the results of those things. And I can tell as a fact that early supplements had a lot of stuff in them, as it wasnt possible to detect it, nor the "FDAs" of the World cared. While I had known whey from a long time, being a country kid, when it got to the city, it was "infused" with gear to give it power that it doesnt have. The industry quietly removed it in some cases when they got the hint that regulation was comming, while some did not. It is possible that Arnold had it without knowing ? Yes. It is possible that he never had it from youth ? No.

Imo hes an 🍑 hole.went to the judges and whispered that they should have a closer look at platz arm.platz had torn a bicep muscle, but it wasnt really obvious because he hid it well .but when the "rat" AS said it to them they inspected his arm closer, they saw it and it effected his result...i mean who likes a "teller"🤷
