I like that back in the day, strength and physique went hand in hand. I understand that there is a “classic” physique category but I don’t think it gets nearly as much attention as it should
Nothing compared to the body builders of today. Coleman himself said he trained for an hour or two hours max. Arnold and Co. trained for about 4-5 hours per day everyday. These guys were aesthetic nowadays they're a bunch of blocky bodied,hot headed, half repping,roided up weightlifters all up their feelings if you refer to them as anything but "genetic" dropping dead before they get to age 45. This guys got the best built and although he took steroids because back then it was not illegal, he worked hard and he admitted to it instead of pretending to be natural like most of all of todays people.
Um I'm pretty sure it was illegal back then and still is. Only thing, now it's legal to use for body building enhancement but not for any other sport. Yes I agree, he busted his a** to get in great shape steroids can get you so far.

I agree. Arnold was the perfect blend of aesthetics and mass and when people saw him on stage, their minds were blown. The golden era is still my favorite era of bodybuilding.
