Great detailed review! It's currently on sale on Amazon for $68 after a $60 coupon and another for 20% off. It was even cheaper last week at $51 with a 30% coupon.
@@TechBrothersReviews Yeah, the only issue is that because the item is new, they don't make cheap compatible filters yet. So you have to buy the real filters from the company and they are expensive. I'm hoping that generic filters will be available in a few months.
@@stevenberry2554 Well, it's Friday. I hope you're enjoying some purified air! I'm still debating whether to buy this or the Winix c545. This definitely had the cool factor. I'll have to decide by this weekend because my home smells like a locker room and guests are coming over. And thanks for pointing out that cleaning will be an issue. I'll have to factor that into my decision.
Two things to consider: 1) This is a new model so that are no generic filters available yet. Believe me, I've searched. So you'll be forced to buy their $49 filters for awhile. Hopefully, generic $15 filters will be available soon. 2) This has UV light, which is supposed to be antimicrobial. But it's controversial because UV light can generate ozone, which some people find irritating. Plus, some experts say that the germs don't get exposed to the UV light long enough to be neutralized. Germs basically go in and get blown out in seconds. If you don't like the UV light just unscrew the bulb.
I haven't tested the Dyson, so I cannot tell you which one is better. However, the Dyson air purifier is five times or even more expensive. It is not even quite right to compare them.
