AROMANIAN LANGUAGE, PEOPLE, & CULTURE 

Most of the words you don't understand are of greek etymology. Pirazmo (pirazmo/πειρασμό), fuljiaua (foljia/φωλιά), aftuchinaljei (aftokinito/αυτοκίνητο), chiro (kero/καιρό), tihisi (tihi/τύχει), fendi (afendi/αφέντη), lahtarosu (lahtara/λαχτάρα), frixi (frixi/φρίξει), praxi (praxi/πράξη), haristo (efharisto/ευχαριστώ), palacarsescu (parakaleso/παρακαλέσω), idyia (idyia/ίδια), ilichi (ilikia/ηλικία), hoara (hora/χώρα), cratu (cratos/κράτος), tihi (tihi/τύχη), ariseashti (aresi/αρέσει), tora (tora/τώρα), cumata (comati/κομμάτι), tihi (tihi/τύχη), mana (mana/μάνα), papu (papu/παππού), nicuchira (nikokira/νοικοκυρά), yrambo (ghambro/γαμπρό) etc. I also recognised some words of non-greek etymology, that modern Greek speakers also use: yumaru (ghomari/γομάρι), zulapi (zulapi/ζουλάπι). Finally, aslanu is of turkish etymology.

As a Portuguese speaker, Aromanian sounds far harder to understand than Romanian for me. In Romanian I can get the meaning of several words, but it seems that they are far less in Aromanian.

The aromanian language has 2 relations with Romanian. First was the linguistic continuum of latin dialects, while the people themselves have always been seperate (aromanians were probably a mix of Illyrians Thracians ans Greeks while Romanians are only daco-thracians)we had a linguistic continuum with who later became Romanian. The other reason is because many of the balkan vlachs have historically migrated to Romania and that includes many aromanians who would often come together with Greeks which resulted in some dialects not only being similar to vlachs due to the common origins of the languages but also forming through the mixing of the 2 languages. The notable thing is also that both languages are rather conservative so even though there is a complete separation of the continuum for around 1000 years, the changes have not been extremely large.

Dalmatians most common haplougroup is I2 and absolutaly certain that I2 haplogrupe is native haplogrupe on Balkan.. Our folklore is very similar to Wallachs...

@@mahomadabrahimabenjucef Morlachs are Wallachs...therefore. It's actually from Italian Morowallachi, meaning dark/ black Wallachs. They were called dark/black due to color of their folklore cloths.

​@@vmb2697not sure but all we know is that Morlachs were not native to Dalmatia originally. In my opinion they were Romanians from Transylvania (they had the rhotacism in Țara Moților) who split into a different ethnic group with their own language of which only the Istro-Romanians survive.

Vlachs are not real Greeks/ Hellens. They are a branch of Romanian nation

It is not mentioned in the video, but Vlachs/Aromanians were cattle-breeding nomadic tribal populations that by the XIth century began to immigrate in great numbers into the Western Balkans as well, and had a very important presence in Bosnia and Croatia during the late Middle Ages, and of course an even more important presence in medieval Serbia (in the eastern part of modern-day Serbia there are still a considerable number of Vlach communities who preserve their medieval Romance language). When the Ottoman armies advanced North-Westwards from Rumelia (Macedonia-Thrace) they integrated the Vlach tribal nomads jointly with the Serb nomad shepherds and some Albanian and Croatian nomadic cattle-breeding groups into the Eflak (Vlach, in Ottoman Turkish) Non-Muslim social-military caste, which performed until the end of the XVIth century very important military duties, such as carrying out border plundering raids and scorched-earth operations into enemy christian territory. The majority of Vlach and other Vlach-like tribes (katuns, with their chieftains, or primikurs) ended up being Slavicized and ended either integrated into Serb Orthodox (the majority of Vlach tribes were Orthodox initially though), Catholic Croat (in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia), or Muslim Slav (in Bosnia, and specially in Herzegovina) communities, after they ended up abandonning their nomadic life-style and thus their privileges regarding tax-paying and permission to bear arms and ride horses were considerably reduced by the Ottoman authorities. Besides, starting when the Ottoman armies under Mehmed the Conqueror conquered the kingdom of Bosnia in 1463, many Vlachs (specially Catholic) in Bosnia and the Western Balkans migrated into Dalmatia (Ragusan republic), Venetian republic and Italy (specially North Italy).

Those who lived hundreds of years in Bijdova, Lupova, Shatra, Bachitsa now in Romania have the nick-name "Vâryâgeani"(Bulgarian Aromanians)

And there still are some Aromanians in Bulgaria, because they have the famous organisation Fântâna, by Yioryi Gushev

Vlachs or v/walachs (the name comes from the first neo-Romanic tribe found in today's Belgium; this name was given by Germanic barbarian tribes - meaning people who speak a vulgar Latin language) were divided into 2 parts: South Danube and North Danube who coexisted in the same culture and language. Aromanian is branched eastern Romance, along Daco-Romanian and its intelligibility with Romanian depends on their grade of assimilation. This one presents a heavily Hellenized and Turkified variant, clearly to distance it from its sister Daco-Romanian, but if they use the existing 'Latin' derived vocabulary would be much closer. Between the south Balkan Vlach languages Meglen-Romanian is the closest to Daco-Romanian, Romanians being also of Vlach ethnicity and language. What most don't know or refuse to accept is the obvious Pelasg origin of the Vlach people, Latinized to some extent. Towards that comes not only a significant amount of specific vocabulary, inherited from Pellac / Pallach, Bellaich / Pallaic language, but also the very Vlach or Balkan / Val'chan names. Either as Vlachs (Romanians) or Getae people named their traditions Pelagine, Belagines and their Vlach / Vlashin ancestors and their old people as B'lajin/i. Depending on region or linguistic backgroud P is also pronounced / spelled as B or V. Then middle G goes either as CH, SH or J and the first E/A/O is also mute. That's why the variety of Vlach names, signifying or being related to the same ethnic group. Vlach, Valch, Valach, Blach/k, Balch/k, Balak, Pelach, Pelag/a, 'Lach, Vlash, Vlashin, Blashin, Blajin, Blaj, Blagh, Blaga, Voloch, Boloch, Bolog, Bologa, Voloha The only language that still kept God as the Pelasg Zeus as Zeu and not the Greek Theos or Latin Deus, or Tata for Father and not Greek Pateras and Latin Pater or Mama for Mother and not the Greek Mitera or Latin Mater or Slavic Maty/Mayka, aiesta, aiasta - this, that, afara - outside, merg, marga - to go, and many other words, inherited by Vlach Romanian from Pellaic, Getae language. Now the entire ancient history tells us, but we love to ignore it, that the ancestors of Latin speaking Romans migrated to central Italic peninsula from Thessaly, south Balkans and the fact that their Tyrrhenian language was also PELASG. Latin being a Celtified Pelasg language, since Hallstatt Celtic expand, most probably due to Celtified Volcae people, originated in the Gava culture of east Pannonia, also considered in archeology a cradle of DACIAN Culture. Last but not least, must notice the VERY STRONG maternal and autosomal DNA connection between the Carpathian region, the north west Balkans, the west Carpathian towards central Europe, the Alps, central Italic peninsula around Latium and Rome, the Walloon regions of Belgium, the north west regions of Iberic peninsula, specifically Galicia, the Baltic regions in Latvia and Lithuania and last but not least most of Wales, but specially in the north, where was registered a strong Dacian presence for few centuries, due to the Dacian legion Prima Aelia Dacorum stationed at and around DEVA (very much Dacian name), the 3rd and 4th century capital of the Roman Britannia. Dacian legion spread around Castrum, Chester and Chester Shire today.

Mocans, originally, were Vlachs who emigrated to the Capathian mountains in Romania. When Aromanians met them and they said they are "mocani", Aromanians nick-named them "mucanji" generally for all the Romanians. Before that they called them "vlăhuți"(Vlachs)

Romanians brainwashed to forget the real name of their language, to adopt the exonym "Vlach" and to feel patriotic for Serbia). Serbia most likely thought that Romania would claim Timok Valley after Romania's foundation in 1859, so they needed to break the ties of the Timok Romanians to Romania.

It is medieval România with loan words from the country of residence. All these Romanian dialects starten from the Romanian language snd and diversified after immersion in an non Romanian theritory. It is impossible to Latinize a language exactly in the same manner in individual and different ethnic populations hundreds of kms apart. The question is whether this is about Latinization or another latin language preexistente. Romanias 🇷🇴 were under different occupiers of different powers from Romans to Austro-Hungarian occupation for hundreds of years, some longer than the Roman occupation. And yet Romanians language did not change. On the contrary. In this case it could be that all these other romance languages developed independently of each other, from a basic language that resembled Latin but was not influenced by it.

@@Gelu345 You are missing historical facts about the region, i could give you an explanation but it would be long, study the history of ancient Greece and its colonies, study ancient Rome and its roots (Aeneas from Troy) then study Byzantium (Eastern Roman Empire), look the maps and you will understand why Vlachs consider themselves Greeks and they fought for Greece in greek revolution against Ottomans, why they fought and gave their lives for Greece? And generally Romania in Greece is a very beloved nation with many similarities and Vlad Dracul (Dragon - Δράκος) is a very famous ruler in Greece and he belonged to the orthodox brotherhood of Imperial Dragons protectors of the Byzantine Empire.

They are not Romanians proper. They have their own history and culture. People do know me and Aromanians respect me because we know out truth DNA. DNA tests have been done by many Aromanians and it's been proven we share almost 0% Romanian Dna. We're old Thracians in the Balkan peninsula, more exactly Thracian Macedonians, not the nowadays Macedonians who are Bulgarians. We and Romanians are old Thracians, but thousands of years separated us and influenced us differently. I spread no anti-Romanian propaganda, as you believe and lie. ​@@saebicato be honest genetics tells you nothing really. Languages, genes and cultures spread in different ways, not necessarily connected. When a new group, with new genes and language, moves into a new area, this small group of people with their own language can become a sort of elite, for example via military conquest, and then they can enforce their own language into the people that already lived there. This would result in people who shared no genes with the guys who conquered the land speaking their language. It could also go the other way around. A large number of people can immigrate into an area and flood that land with their new genes, but they can be compelled to learn their language, for example when workers immigrate a new country. As a result the people there still speak their old language but they have new genes. The same goes for culture. American culture can become super popular everywhere thanks to TV and the internet and now everyone celebrates Halloween as a consumerist event, despite not sharing the language or genes of the Americans. It's even more complicated, because creole languages exist. In those cases, a large number of people with their own language and/or genes can be compelled to talk a new language, but they speak it with an accent, or, most often, they adopt the vocabulary but keep using that vocabulary with their old grammar and word order. I'll give you a real life example: there are similarities in grammar between Romanian and other Balkan languages. Those common grammatical rules aren't shared between Romanian and western romance languages like Spanish, and they aren't shared between for example Serbian and Russian. This would indicate that the languages in the Balkan all had a grammatical substrate originating in a common language, but then they adopted the words from other languages (Slavic or romance languages) and created their own creole languages. This would essentially mean that the Balkan languages all came from a similar language with similar grammar, but they aren't grouped together because nearly all their vocabulary comes from either latin or Slavic. This is only a hypothesis but it's still an interesting one at least. The point of this comment was to illustrate that really genes don't tell you that much about a language or culture.
