I am an Expatriate American living in Finland since 2003. Most Finns, especially the younger generation speak excellent English. Our President, has a better English language vocabulary than I do. And I have taught Conversational English as an elective class for 5th and sixth grade elementary students. Two 10 year old neighbor boys, have a good command of English, when they speak with me. They start learning English in the first grade.

Definently the biggest steal of the draft. I see a future NHL captain here

I love how this fellow handles himself. He has a quiet self confidence that makes me believe he'll be a hell of a player. I did check him out beforehand and people that have seen him say he's a year or two ahead of many others. Great choice.

If there is any organization that can get Kiviharju to the NHL, it’s probably the one with a 5’9 defenseman at captain.

I feel IFK would be better for his development.

@@ruttybuck1825 Based in what exactly? HIFK is absolutely wrong place to Kiviharju's development. SM liiga is not a real hockey league and game in there is more soccer on the ice than actual hockey. HIFK gives icetime only 30-39 yrs old veteran players they hate junior players and that's why guys like Halttunen, Salin and Teissala didn't get much games what their development would've required. Ville Peltonen is a clown coach who benches juniors after one mistake. HIFK has also been last 10-12 yrs most injury prone SM liiga team. That injury history what Kiviharju already has he is not ready to play against men's in SM liiga because repeating injuries have hurt a lot his development as a hockey player. If Kiviharju has brains left he should go to Moncton Wildcats and play there next 2 yrs years before AHL. CHL is development league in the whole world and world's best junior hockey coaches works there so why Kiviharju should stay to HIFK. Even San Jose Sharks took Kasper Halttunen out of HIFK last year and look Halttunen now. He's started to developing and getting better hockey player after his very good season 2023-2024 in London Knights. Even Brad Lambert is now totally different player after playing 1 year in WHL. If Kiviharju wants to play winning hockey this coming season he goes to QMJHL because HIFK will be one the worst and weakest teams in SM liiga season 2024-2025. And yes i'm HIFK fan.

is it just me or do the hats and jerseys look incredibly cheap and low quality this year? I guess that's what you get with Fanatics though.

What a fall from grace. I remember reading from different places he was projected to be a top 5 pick a year or two ago
@AlexAnteroLammikko
@AlexAnteroLammikko Месяц назад
I would not call it a fall from grace. He got injured, badly. The reason he fell is because his playing career is entirely uncertain due to the severity of the injury and how much time he missed. Hoping for the best, but its a tough road.

He’s still a kid and all these prospects have a ton of pressure on them. He was a steal for the wild in this draft considering his upside. Chill out
