After watching the video a few more times it’s clear this league is pretty weak, I’m 18, play Jr A in Quebec after playing AA and BB and my team mates and i were all way better than these guys at 15 and 16. I think every league in Canada should have way faster hockey than what we’re watching here

Goalies are voodoo, there are very few consistently good goalies even in the NHL and prospects are a total crapshoot

What? Finland's full hitting since Ds, he's been in full hitting for 4 years. Obviously the times he gets hit don't make the highlights. But BTW, he gets hit very, very rarely. I watched every game he played this season(that were streamed) and saw zero hard hits on him. He's so much better a skater than anyone else.

What, he has incredible explosive speed and rapid acceleration. And in 13-14 Dahlin wasn't playing vs the same competition, Dahlin was playing in low-end Swedish leagues whereas Kiviharju played in Finland's top u-16 league.

@@ijuka he doesn't have rapid acceleration. Compared to his age group, yes, but not compared to the mcdavids and Eichels at the same age. He just doesn't.

@@dancarpentieri7762 Oh but he absolutely does. Maybe you haven't seen very many games of him, and Finland doesn't really play coast-to-coast hockey. But he does have quite incredible acceleration. If your main exposure to him is WSI or something it isn't a great indicator, he always coasts through those and doesn't even try to skate. In general he usually prefers a slower start through the defensive zone with the puck, but in many situations especially during rapid turnarounds and when he needs to make a defensive play such as stopping a breakaway there's some very significant acceleration displayed. I doubt it makes any highlight reels, though.

Well this just is so wrong it's not even funny. See, Finland's u16 league actually is much more stacked than North American leagues, because it's a national league where all of Finland's best players play. North American leagues at this age, on the other hand, are all just regional leagues with a fraction of the talent. There's just a few exceptions, such as the Ontario region. Or Minnesota.

ijukaSSB your population is much smaller so you’re top league is more condensed because the better kids were discovered quicker. North America has so many people and a much larger territory that they created multiple leagues to scout the talent and try to get them to the better leagues as soon as possible. The nhl teams got a little too excited by your jr championship teams doing so well that they drafted a lot of its players early in draft, but not a lot of them are thriving.

He played u14 A. That's a hobbyist league, come on. He also is an overager. If you will use stats of players to call them good at least make sure they played AAA. Luke Törmä probably can't even make an AAA hockey team. That's why he's playing A.
