Join us at the British Motor Museum for the fabulous milestone of 20 years of the world's biggest British car web site Aronline.co.uk. This is part 2 and features the question and answer session with some lunimaries from the British Leyland, Austin-Rover, Rover Group and MG Rover companies: Denis Chick (Austin-Rover Communications Director), Kevin Jones (PR Manager for Rover Group and MG Rover), Ian Pogson (Powertrain Engineer and MG Rover Chief Engineer) and finally Aronline number 2 Mike Humble who was an Austin-Rover dealer mechanic before he switched to actually selling these famous British cars.

Really enjoyed Part 2 as wel Johnl, and could listen to these guys sharing anecdotes and experiences from the BL, BMW and John Tower days all day. . The Musgrove vs. Bache argument must have been typical of the egos within the company at the time - both brilliant men (the mentorship story was interesting), however in a negative climate/culture and the destructive behaviours common at that time, I’m sure there are many other examples of these clashes. People tend to think of John Towers as the ‘villIn’ of the ‘end game’, so it was interesting to hear the other side of the coin. Thanks again for filming this John - I will definitely try and get to the next anniversary meeting (if there ever is one) before these guys get too old old to share their experiences. It was lovely to see the faces of the AROnline team - some really interesting folks that Keith has working for the web site and now understand why the quality of contributions and articles on the site is so high. See from the end of the video that the Mini is still doing well - was half-expecting to see the TR7 though!

Aronline is simply the best British car web site in the world. I think it's probably the biggest British car web site too. Mike Humble could have a job doing car programming on television but no one has ever spotted him. Both he and Keith are great writers too so quite a formidable pair. The TR7 is still going through a few troubles but we did take it on a 500 mile trip about six weeks ago and it was fine but I made the mistake of trying to make it perfect again and of course, those plans never seem to go through smoothly. I should get an Aston Martin really! John.
