I worked with a man who once ran a shop that made parts for Ford parts. He told me that he could buy finished Ferguson parts from Canada for less money than the raw castings were costing him in the US. Every part on that Tractor has an identical Ford part. That is a hold over from the time before the legal troubles with Ford.
Another great show dude I think I'm the most excited about your small block flatbed truck and your sprayer projects those are going to be really interesting
Good job mate 👍many videos to come that’s fantastic news 👌the sound of the 1150 very good don’t forget to crack a beer 🍺 or two so now and then because you can’t rush perfection 😁cheers from down under 🇦🇺
Excellent video JT :) also nice keep busy to and yes you have lots to do plus be lots fun too! Also Painting and Replacing plus more you do too! ! That Massey Ferguson Lawn Mower Tractor be cool see Pretor motor be one kind and seen lots changes in lots things over years but look nice !
Just ran across your channel. Awesome find an$ I agree it runs great. My dad used to collect and sell Massey Harris tractors here in Wisconsin. Never did a lot with MF but he did at the end pick up a 98 and a pair of 97’s a two wheel drive and a four wheel drive. He completely restored the 97’s and add a chrome stack on both. They just roared when you started them up. All memories now as he passed over 20 years ago. Still fond of Massey’s and our family has most of his toy collection to also remind us of him. My son took an interest in Tractors as well and is now one of the top Service Techs at our local JD dealer. Wrong color but he also has an appreciation for the Red tractors as well. I will be watching your progress bringing her back to life. Steve….
It sounds like you have a lot of great videos coming up as long as you are able to find time to work on things and are able to get all of the parts that you need in a timely manner. I am looking forward to all of them.
JT im glad you're going to keep the loader tractor original color i voted for yellow. Im happy that you have all those projects it's going to make for some good watching.
JT my friend, I’m looking forward to seeing you working on all your projects. I like the idea of yellow on the tractor 🚜, but especially on the loader!
1150 is an icon. I suggest NOT to give it a paint job. Give it a bath, clean it up, give it some turtle wax. Make it look like a very! well maintained but working tracktor. It have just the right patina for that look, and it will till the story better than make it look new. It don't look like there are dents in the hood or fenders. Just need a new front grill and change a few non stock back to stock.
JT's barn-n-grill and previously made love to Massey Ferguson emporium. I really enjoy this channel. If you put a Predator in the #7, you won't be able to show it at the Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance. Predator makes perfect sense. It's not like you're making a living mowing lawns with it. Good enough, cheap enough, easy enough to install. Win to the 3rd power.
We aren't farmers, but my grandfather had a 1952 Massey Harris 33 that he used for dragging trees out of the woods every summer. It was always prepped and put away for winter. Come spring time it fired right up without issues. Sadly he sold it for pennies back in 2001 when he got something new with a bucket. It ran like a top. His even had the hard to find wide front on it.
No matter what project your doing it's fun to watch. Besides I'm a big Massey Ferguson fan . I was 16 when Massey came out with the multi power thought it was perty cool. Don't remember size of the old tractor it pulled a three bottom roller over plow. Thanks for sharing your Massey's with us old farts.
hey man great video again, we have a saying here in ireland when it comes to wiring and extra length. ~~~~~( its better to be looking at it than looking for it)
Well I thought the school bus cab truck should have been yellow. Past that, a yellow tractor that once was yellow only seems right. Congrats also on the “You shitin’ me 1150!”
Predator engine for sure and not everything has to be original. Upgrades are sometimes necessary and important. Looking forward to seeing all the projects. Love your channel.
Hi J T, the TO 30 I had was basically Grey, with several other colors under that, Crazy ! Seems like the fenders even said something, not sure now I'll have to look for the pictures of it. You have plenty to do my friend. And harvest is near. Life is Great isn't it. 😊 Have a Great Weekend.
Hey Joe. Another great video. I'm one that thinks you should keep that 7 hydro original. I'd just find an old snowblower with a good tec engine in it. But, it's yours, you do what you want. Will be following either way. Cheers
WOW! You're gonna be "Busier than a one legged butt kicker !" One request though, paint the axles on the 1150 black. They just look Cooler that way. 👍🇺🇲
If you have too much to do you could sell me that wreck of a 1150 i would go up to $20 purely as a favour as I would hate to see you work to hard with all that work 😊 great video as always and what a buy you lucky SOAB.
My son’s show tractor is an MF8 with original Tecemsuh engine. It’s very finicky. If you have the patience to mess with it then by all means keep it original. I will say this thing is high maintenance: drive it for an hour = work on it for 2 hours.
I Have a 1955 TO 35 restored. Nice little tractor. However, I sold the loader off of it. Took 3 men and a boy to steer it with any weight in the bucket
I’m excited about your 1150 project it’ll be a show piece when you’re done. I’m going to show my 1150 at our local fair this fall. It’ll out show them all.
I got two m a s s e y Ferguson 7 a n d both engines are awesome like I said before I wish you lived closer because I'll be dropping them off to your house
wow, you are gonna be busy! Going forward, you'll have to start organizing your channel into playlists and episodes. I'd love to see the 1150 get restored in steps over time vs all at once like the other tractors and trucks videos. Fixing small engines is not a cheap adventure anymore--parts and labor make buying new very attractive. Tecumseh has been out of manufacturing engines for over 10 years now so things that were common and cheap may not be available anywhere. B&S and Kohler have also been streamlining their practices so their classic parts aren't as easy to find either. The Predator isn't the worst idea, if you put in the work to make it look good and function the same. Some mower frames use weird mounts and shafts or drive from the shroud side just to make ez swaps impossible. Many Predator powered machines at shows no longer can drive a deck or the snowblower because of the special designs. Hopefully you can make it work on Ol Number 7 :)
JT, try not to go too wide with the booms on the 1505 sprayer. Years ago we had a pivot steer self propelled sprayer here in the UK, called a Wilmott. As you can imagine, slight twitch on the steering, is amplified many times at the boom end !! Looking forward to it, and everything else my friend.
Depending on your serial tag a yellow 35 also would have been known as a Massey Harris Ferguson 202 Work bull. Special industrial model with special decals on the hood. Satisfies both fields of being yellow and still original official. Depending on the serial tag.
J T this is my opinion you may want to put the word out that your looking for a few enthusiastic youngsters, high school age that are into farm mechanics and would be willing to work with you ,after school and weekends to get hands on experience. It could be a win win for all , you seam like patient and smart teacher.
I truly enjoy your videos. I noticed on the Massey TO 35 it has Ford rear fenders on it, are you going to keep them on or not. It’s your tractor do whatever you want, just like you said in today’s video which I’m watching now.
YES!. JT is going to paint the tractor Yellow. The color that i had picked. Alot to work-on, only money and time will tell when u get them finished. Fluffy will lv the tractor yellow..
Right as I was going to post about the ignition switch wires being all the same color you said “It’s my tractor and I can do what I want.” So I let it go…sort of. 🥴😂 Your videos and editing technique get better every week. 👍🏻
Good vid. As long as you got a channel, you got viewer's. Projects? As long as you got projects, you got a channel. AND!!! Anyone can drive a Porsche, Most of them will never be able to drive a Massey. Or combine a bean crop. Or, do a corn crop. AND completely forget about baling hay! Good call with the yellow paint. Was wondering about it being an early model Industrial with the loader bucket. Back pinned instead of side pinned.
That finds it absolutely gem I have a 255 that I have restored totally and I love it I am looking for some other projects too work on. You're starting to turn into Ross the Oliver man but instead it is the Massey man you have some beautiful equipment
You’re a lucky SOB with the 1150. It would look great with a pair of 20.8-38s on the back and 11.00-16 on the front. On the 35, are you sure the yellow is original if it’s on the Ford fenders? 😂
_Fine,_ do the yellow. I can't argue with vintage original, I suppose. A far as the 7 goes, I say just slap that Predator in and be done with it. That swap is super popular for good reason. Being a small lawn tractor, and having a trash engine from the factory, it's only natural as far as I'm concerned, because stickng with hard-to-find-but-not-worth-it parts just isn't the smart play. If "all original" isn't a feasible option, just swap it. No shame in it... It's really just a lawnmower, with a lawnmower engine anyway... not a nice utility tractor with a better powerplant in it that was purpose-built to do hard work for years and years. Thanks for the update!
Jt, the 1150 should have no less than 6-16s behind it, and it is hard to believe someone put it in a junkyard and took off its legs ( tires) . But it was just sitting there waiting for you to rescue it. The little fegusion again is one you rescued and is lucky you found it. And even though I picked red and gray yellow will be fine. I agree save the red for the 1150. Btw if you quit the full time job you would have alot more time for your projects. Maybe your wife could get a better job to support you and your toys.😮
I have a TO-30 Ferguson, I believe that the TO-35 uses the same fenders F.Y.I. I also have a NAA ford 1954 which those fenders were O.E.M. for that model
