In the 80s and 90s my dad liked to film absolutely everything on what I remember was a Philips vkr 6820 (VHS) - (he was the original family vlogger lol.)
Among the many places we liked to visit in the 80s and 90s were theme parks like Alton Towers, Flamingo Land, Lightwater Valley etc.. and as I am in the process of digitising these old VHS tapes, I thought I would be interesting to post footage featuring old rides at these Theme Parks that no longer exist but people like myself have very fond memories of.
I thought a good start would be Alton Towers in 1988 and the 4 min Dark boat ride “Around the World in 80 Days”. Most of the 4min experience is captured but the video does cut off short as we enter the final area of Battersea in London.
