Turn right and pass through Chepstow and that is my bit of the world. Some cracking rides and scenery in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. Up the A48, left onto the A40 and head to Ross on Wye and then drop down to Bicknor amd Shortstanding. Right onto the A4136 to Monmouth. Turn left just before the Wye river and then follow it all the way back to Chepstow. Great ride.
Great footage Bruce! Did much the same route last year but in several stints. Lynton.....was actually Lynmouth lol! Lynton is up above Lynmouth...lovely area. Brecons and Snowdonia on a sunny day...some of the best biking roads and views in the UK. Riding from Capel Curig on the A4086 and then the A498 to Garreg was spectacular. There were a few hidden gems paralleling that route on minor roads too. Rained the whole time but still smiled the whole way!
Here'a a bike tip from a native West Walian. Best road EVER is Llandovery to Tregaron. It's mostly single track so cars are scared to use it. But If you think you're gonna have room to open up a litre bike, forget it.
Iv just done north Wales all the roads you rode . I live in Nottinghamshire Derbyshire boarders. So a regular up in the peaks . Your videos have got me planning my next ride . Thinking isles of sky . Great videos pal . One day I'll probably meet you in some cafe 😂 you never know
I know all about long days in the saddle in that neck of the woods! Hope you managed to get the drone up whilst you were at it...looking forward to assessing your pilotage skills ;0)
Great country for bikers, thats the UK , when the weather is good. Just one thing i would like to add. WHY OH WHY IS THE NAME OF ENGLAND, YES , ENGLAND NEVER MENTIONED. I FIND IT INSULTING .
How coincidental, after meeting up with you on the Sunday, I end up spending a night with the garbage run lot at the same accommodation in the north Pennines on the Tuesday! Small world indeed
Yeah I think so. Was a good evening that day. I did join them for a bit of the run; about 5miles worth when they headed towards Scotland on the Wednesday. All very jolly
Great vid as always. I rode the A39 earlier in the month and it definitely brought back some great memories. We stopped in Lynton for a Pasty and a coffee as well. I'm looking forward to seeing the next instalment, keep up the great content pal.
Thanks TP1 for this series - I've only just noticed it and busy catching up. I like to do a fair few miles on my own GS, but I'm in awe of the daily distances you cover! I try to stick to maybe 6-7 hrs max per day. Good on you, thanks again for the effort.
Hi TeaPot. Nice to see these kind of vids again. A friend of mine ask me yesterday "have you seen the vids of that guy" referring to your RTW trip. Answer was "Off course, who hasnt" Just had a little trip around norway myself. Nothing better than riding with friends. Vid will be up soon.
Just discovered your channel via the Shoei review and promptly subscribed. I look forward to watching all your stuff. Just finished going thru Richy Vida's trips so need something new to watch! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Shame day 2 is missing, I'd be interested to see the rest of the route you took through Wales. I did a trip round the Welsh coast last year (never doing that in February again!) and the A5 coming down out of Snowdonia from Capel Curig towards Bethesda/Bangor was absolutely breathtaking.
@@teapotone RU-vid's copyright system sucks - I've had copyright claims from organisations that don't even own the copyright that they're claiming! Sadly though it's part of the system, we can either get off RU-vid or get on and deal with it :). We do have some amazing scenery here in Wales, I need to get out and explore the roads more often. Your Rever links here will certainly help, so thanks for including those! As luck would have it I suddenly have a free day tomorrow that I didn't expect to have, and I've just cleaned the bike today... :D
I did that bit of road on the a39 on my Teapotone inspired trip I've mentioned before, except on a 125 Exmoor was *quite an experience* ahaha my poor bike nearly exploded up those roads as my maps said go right, off a cliff apparently, so I went left trying to avoid the steep road and ended up having to go up and down much steeper roads in that little village only to loop back around to the road I wanted to avoid - small engine so very little engine braking at that incline and it was brakes all the way down. Worth it for those views though! 2nd gear and barely moving forward, the presence of gravity very much on my mind haha, I thought I was going to fall backwards front wheel over back wheel! Shame I missed you for this one but hopefully our paths will cross in the future
Nice, got to do Wales. Just found this vid after doing the A39 yesterday from Newquay to get the Triumph serviced. Had to go cross country fm Bideford, looks like i missed the best views after Bideford.
Mate you just make me want to grab a tent and go for a ride. Looking at these views reminds me of my flight to NZ when a kindly gentleman told me the country is a bit like Wales, but beautifuller, or some such.
Hi. Nice video. Next time in Cornwall go to Lizard Point which is the most southern point. Beautiful there. I live here so my rides take me from central Cornwall down to Lizard point and the further west to Lands End and then St Ives through to the Bude area and then back home across the Bodmin Moor. Not found the Beast of Bodmin yet....
I do miss Wales (I'm from there originally) but now I live in California so it's a tough call!! Love watching you ride through Mach. Have done that so many times and I've always loved it. But in autumn/winter it can get very gnarly!!
i have bought a 2003 anniversary ultra classic it is the mechanics shop getting a thorough check up, and then I am going to do the same here in Mexico. I have to be extremely careful, some areas you do not go. Otto was had a camera on helmet, Can you please tell me what brand it is? I am looking for a camera just like that.
Hi Allan, I think back in the days of this vid, I was using a Drift Ghost-S camera. They don’t make that anymore sadly, but they do still make Drift Ghost cameras - they’re not very good though from my experience, hence why I moved back to GoPro
Hi Dude. Thanks for sharing. Did you miss the M48 to Bridgwater section off from your routes mate ? Tryin to follow your route for a group run planning for next year ....
Doing the same next summer but the whole coast of uk. Any tips would be help. This road in Devon was where I was born, south Molton.your making me home sick. Nice way to get outt of herself indoors. Ride safe stay biking.
Hi Ian, If you’re able to take some time when you do it, I’d suggest you do it a lot slower than I did. I only had 4 days to play with so was against the clock, but there is SO much to see around the UK.
Do you have a separate web page or something detailing future trips around the UK so I and others could meet you and other like minded people. Thanks RR
Can't believe It . I find your channel today from a recommendation start watching your vids and subscribe because I like em and there I am at 12.38 on a non biking day sat in me car with me head buried in a map. Top biking country Wales with so much more than the obvious and now I found you watch this space for an invite.
Made me excited to pass my test so I can go see more of the country! I could go now but I'd have to leave my gf behind, plus there are many merits and thrills of 125 tour riding (like not being sure if you'll make it up a hill) but I'd like to have a bit more power ;)
Scrap your appeal to Mrs May! Her Tory-ness will not allow her to see past her nose. But there is cake for you to have... my tip, which until now has been my secret pleasure, is this; Ride when England (or wherever you be) has an important football match - THE ROADS ARE EMPTY! It may only come around every four years, but sometimes produces clusters of increasingly quite riding sessions. Most national matches of importance make our roads noticeably quieter. Another tip if you like night riding, which I do, is the last 3 hours of December 31, on main A roads preferably between large towns and cities - it's very, very quiet. Ideal if you're not into football, or partying! Safe riding :)
Fantastic stuff mate! Very much looking forward to watching the other videos :-) Where abouts was the place where you stopped with the lake just before the road that Top Gear use? Looks superb and want to add it to my riding bucket list! Just goes to show what a stunning country we live in.... Take care mate, Mark
+Biker's Hub Thanks Mark, the scenery only gets better through the other vids, can't wait to get them done and uploaded too. I'm in tour with ChickenStrips at the mo in Spain so have no time to edit this week unfortunately. I'll crack on once I'm back next week. The lake is the Llyn Clywedog Reservoir on the B4518. If you look at the description of the vid there are links to the Rever tracking maps of the roads I used there 👍
New Orleans, huh. I'm 90 miles away in Baton Rouge. Those guys must have rented Harleys from EagleRider. Hope you had a chance to eat some authentic Cajun food while you were down there, not to be missed!
Fantastic Video chap. New subscriber here looking forward to atching more of your videos. Happy TheMissendenFlyer recommended you as a RU-vidr to watch!
Believe this Bruce! I'm a HGV driver and you will not believe how many times I get slowed down by idiots in cars! If its 30 MPH, they'll do 20. If its 40, they'll do 31. People behind me always thinking they're behind a "SLOW" truck. Cars 'try' to over take me and realise there's another 2 cars in front of me, Every chance of a MAJOR pile up! Going slow is AS DANGEROUS as FAST. They don't seem to realise this is in UK. I'm a biker too mate and its shocking to see car drivers man and dare I say the age of car drivers that still think they can drive safely.
Yes, it’s just having the time to re-edit it mate. I’m literally working every day at the moment, 12hrs shifts with nearly 3hrs travel every day. I’ve hardly got time to get a new vid out each week, let alone redo an old one I’m afraid. I will get it done when I can though bud, promise you that 👍
+Marc Fulcher Mate I'm trying, but Day 2 of the UK ride is taking forever. Doesn't help that these twats have been trying to blow up London so all my days off are cancelled! Got a day at it today though so hoping to get it live this week 👍
Richard Hammond had it right; you can tell a persons driving competance by the car they're in. Some small Korean or suchlike shitbox shows no passion for it. It's just something to get from A to B in. But if you have no passion for what you're doing in a 1 1/2 ton machine then basically you don't care and if you don't care then you're dangerous. ( I know this is a very polarised view though :-D ) You wouldn't be allowed to operate a 1 1/2 ton machine of any other sort without some sort of detailed knowledge of it which in turns means a degree of passion for it. No passion, no licence. I should be Transport Secretary. :-)

So why are bmw,s called the ultimate driving machine when the folks who drive them are as far from ultimate drivers as you can get
It would have been much more interesting if you'd actually bothered to mention where you were at certain points. Apart from spotting the odd town name on a road sign, we had no clue where you were. Like the reservoir at 13:51; no attempt made at saying where it is, just your mate acting like a 10 year old. Without reference, it's just an endless video of random roads. A missed opportunity for what could have been a very interesting video.
I’m sorry this didn’t meet your high expectations Jer, and that you’d wasted your hard-earned money paying to view such low-grade nonsense. I’ll check out your channel and see how it should be done 👍
