Believe it or not, I meant to put all of this info in the video. It just got a little bloated. :P Here's all the dungeon unlock quests, all of these "blue" quests will be available at lvl 50 after "The Ultimate Weapon" unless stated otherwise. If they say "MSQ" it means they are unlocked by playing the post-ARR MSQ: Halatali: "Hallo Halatali" - level 20; Western Thanalan. Sunken Temple of Qarn: "Braving New Depths" - level 35; Western Thanalan Cutter's Cry: "Dishonor Before Death" - level 38; Ul'dah, Steps of Thal Dzemael Darkhold: "Fort of Fear" - level 44; Coerthas Central Highlands Aurum Vale: "Going for Gold" - level 47; Western Thanalan - Level 50 dungeons from now on - Wanderer's Palace: "Trauma Queen" - Western Thanalan Amdapor Keep: "Ghosts of Amdapor" - complete Aurum Vale; Western Thanalan Pharos Sirius: "Sirius Business" - Western La Noscea Copperbell (Hard): "Out of Sight, Out of Mine" - Mor Dhona Haukke Manor (Hard): "Maniac Manor" - Mor Dhona Lost City of Amdapor: "One Night in Amdapor" - Old Gridania Halatali (Hard): "This Time's for Fun" - complete Halatali; Mor Dhona Brayflox (Hard): "Curds and Slay" - Mor Dhona Hullbreaker Isle: "King of the Hull" - Mor Dhona Tam-Tara (Hard): "Corpse Groom" - Ul'dah, Steps of Nald Stone Vigil (Hard): "Blood for Stone" - Mor Dhona Snowcloak: MSQ Sastasha (Hard): "It's Definitely Pirates" - Mor Dhona Sunken Temple of Qarn (Hard): "The Wrath of Qarn" - Mor Dhona Keeper of the Lake: MSQ Wanderer's Palace (Hard): "Not Easy Being Green" - Mor Dhona Amdapor Keep (Hard): "For Keep's Sake" - Mor Dhona
@Jeff Villona, all "Hard" "Extreme" etc one's are story/progression locked. Want an easier time? Keep an eye out for any Blue quests. Blue generally is a mandatory or immense QOL related unlock.
For anyone struggling, keep in mind, fates required for a book are sometimes initially purple quests you need to accept before the fate becomes the correct name. Make sure you look up the fate before waiting around for 3 hours :D
WARNING : Do NOT, under any circonstance, throw away your relic. You won't be able to buy any of the replicas without the relic itself in your inventory. Plus, if you do throw it away, you can only get back the initial step of the relic (because it's the only step you get a specific achievement for). Don't be like me and have to use the item recovery service. You can only use the item recovery service once per account...
@@samuffert absolutally! the crystals will only take you around 30 minutes to an hour, maybe a lil longer depending on your luck. use the wiki to see where you need to go for the different crystals
you're a lifesaver. thank you so much for this excellent guide! I attribute my smooth completion of this grind to you, and couldn't be happier with my ragnarok zeta :')
if you're like me and clear Aurum vale in just under three minutes... do bowl of embers! You can kill Ifrit around 12 times in that time! and if you aren't getting bonus light? You're better off doing it this way as you can get around 100 light in under 3 minutes which is way more than the blinding light. I timed it and was able to kill ifrit 15 times in 3:10 Which is 120 light! At this pace you can likely complete this step in 51 minutes (assuming your loading times are like mine)! It does require a lot of tedious button presses but otherwise very limited movement (if you are ranged or caster)
Yo this is the best video out there for info. He is 100% correct in that "If you can do the books you can do the rest." Stay Strong, also if you had under a million gill beforehand get ready to see A DIP in your wallet by the end. They really just said "Yo you want this cool weapon right? The one you spent HOURS on up to this point? Ya that'll be like 400-500K gill." so sad, I'm broke and now have a DOPE weapon.
For those doing the books, and want to conserve leves, all you need to do is to get all of the levequests that are currently available to you for your current book. Complete one levequest and then get whichever ones are missing. I did this method to avoid burning through leves trying to cycle through levequests to get the one that I needed.
You only have to grab and complete 1 levequest to make the one you need appear. Just make sure to check and accept the one you need before collecting the reward of the one you just completed.
@@J_Mirae Yes but you run the risk of the one of the ones you need disappearing. This is why you check and grab any that are available which you need for your current book before completing any levequest. For example let's say that I need A, B , and C while A and C are available from their respective NPCs. If I do the leve for A, or another leve, in order to get B to show up, without grabbing C, I run the risk of C going away and having to repeat the process again wasting a leve.
For anyone who's onto the light grind, and like me, are not max level (60 or so),or chose a tank/healer job to get the relic for... Do Thousand Maw of Toto-Rak. Streamlined, almost nothing to interact with. Almost a straight line start to end. Instant/2 tap enemies with long passage ways to burst down while still moving between webbed/blocked off doors.
Thank you very much, your guide was incredibly helpful. I got my Yoichi Bow Zeta tonight and one of the replicas I wanted to use for glam after completing it. :D
Thank you so much for the guide... i got a warning about 1.4% chance of it being made into a higher relic weapon at the 2nd to last step, and it made me 2nd guess if it was worth it 😂
Just started grinding for my first relic today, met two people who were also grinding and we party'd up to get all the atmas together. The first atma drop took like an hour for me but after that we got each of them within 5-10 minutes. Hopefully I can pace myself and not burnout trying to get this weapon lol
I thought the books would tire me out. Turns out the light farming did. I actually had fun doing the books, maybe because I was lucky and found 98% of the fates I needed already spawned and running the moment I teleported to the area.
@@CapnIndifferent I was just doing the last mahatma part, aurum vale has bonus rn and I just couldn't power through it. I did 6 and logged out even though I know if I continue rn I'd finish it in like 15 mins ;-;
Capn, I'm at the Zodiac stage and a little confused. There are a few items that I need but according to everything I've read I need items from Treasure maps...I've gotten them 3 days in a row and haven't gotten the items yet. Are treasure maps the only way to get items like 'Belah'dian Silver?' Great content!
Oof, yeah. For the furnace ring and perfect mortar. The silver only drops from boar and peisteskin maps, as well as the unhidden leather maps. I think I had one and bought the other when I did mine. :X If you're on the free trial, looks like you'll need some extra luck.
@@CapnIndifferent I still am xD I've been taking my time waiting for my fiance and best friend to jump in with me. Your tagline about mentors cracked me up
This relic grind has been painful. Started doing it immediately after I finished base arr, and now I'm about to get nexus. It was not fun doing the books in a day.
This says you can buy the mysterious maps from Auriana, but I don’t see the option to. Only way I can get alexandrite is the daily and just grinding fates.
I'm not able to make 100% sure right now, but I believe the only requirements are the prerequisite with Brangwine and unlocking treasure hunting in Wineport. Maybe you're missing something.
Any ARR dungeons, Hard/Extreme trials or raids can grant bonus light. Some of the other dungeons may be faster now that they've gotten reworks, but I haven't had a chance to try them out. I mention those dungeons specifically because they clocked in the fastest for me at the time.
Yea... Im out. Thx for the complete guide, I just completed atma now I noe ima stop at atma (maybe animus if mood strikes). Try doing all these for ALL your classes' weapons 😵💫. There are better glamours out there to save me from this torment.
Thanks for the help! I wish the ppl that viewed the video atleast gave you a sub! I'm gonna be updating my comment as I go just as a lil internet timestamp for myself :) Edit:IM HALF WAY THERE! Edit: At distinct light currently. Made some good progress today. Edit (Feb 28): I made the mistake of only soulglazing the PLD sword and not the shield. Had to light farm all over again FUU. Once I got the shield done, started working on the 4 other quests, already have all the items, just need to knock the dungeon runs. Feels really close now!! Edit (Mar 1): MAHATMA FARMING TIME Edit (Mar 2 Midnight): Fucking got my PLD relic!!!! Big thanks to CapnIndifferent
I got my Longinus Zeta(dragoon) I got it.... and I was on free trial... I not only have my relic.. not only have the glamours for the other versions. NOT ONLY DO I HAVE THE TITLES AND ACHIEVEMENTS.... I have the glory......and mental anguish. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT
Can confirm that Ifrit normal dies in one shot even if you are a healer after 6.0 which makes it the fastest to spam even with "feeble" light at level 90
im here to let you guys know that the book part can be done!! just take your time no need to rush. i just finished it today. i did about 1 or 2 books a day and then continued to play the game normally. you got this!
I just finished the Book part. I learned that the best way to do it is to 1. Acquire all three leves. 2. Queue up for dungeons 3. Look for the needed Fates (complete if available). 4. Complete a row on the enemies page 5. Complete a leve. 6. Repeat 3-5 until you're in a dungeon It'll take between an hour to one and a half hours to complete one book. And this way, you're always doing something, and not just standing around waiting for a queue or a spawn. The worst thing was, surprisingly, completing the Fates, as they spawn randomly. Maybe there's a more efficient way of doing this, but it worked well for me
I started my relic weapon back in 2016 but once I got to the book step I flat out quit, and only came back recently in 2021 five years later to pick it up again. Finally through pain and gain I get my Longinus Zeta its glorious
Just got my first zodiac zeta weapon yesterday (Excalibur), absolutely vile grind, but the payoff was pretty great. Thanks for this guide, it helped a ton!
Thank you, your guide has directed me perfectly step-by-step without fail with upgrading my mnk relic. I would have never known who to talk to or what to do next if it wasn't for this guide.
yo you missed something pretty important i think. in order to accept the quest "rise and shine" it says you need your zodiac wep equipped (which i do, the nexus one anyway) but it says i cant accept it. theres a option at the bottom which says "turn nexus weapon into longius (which is the dragoon one) and when you click that it will give you a cutscene with a prompt that says "this has a 1.4% chance of succeeding, if it fails your weapon will be lost. do you wish to proceed?" you should probably clarify thats NOT HOW IT WORKS IT DOESNT MATTER WHICH OPTION YOU CHOOSE IT WILL ALWAYS SUCCEED. idc if its a fun fake out or whatever that shit is fucking wack.
Also soloing stone vigil (hard) is actually possible as a dps assuming you're level 90. when before i think it was only possible with healers and blue mage.
Well i haven't reached that but thank you for the info am currently in the light farm so ill be spamming Aurum Vale since i can finish it in 2:30 with my blacmage
@@vindicen7359 you could do it level 80 melee dps too, just have to stun the boss with your job ability as well as the cannons and takes a while to solo cannon down the boss while hopping off to clear the all the mobs
Update for light farm - Run new Toto-Rak 42 times at Lv90 unsynced. Takes about 3min per run and you can have it full of light in 2.5hrs even if you aren't getting blinding.
Thank you SO much! With your guide I got my Ragnarok Zeta weapon within only 6 days! This is my first huge achievement as a sprout who only stepped into Ishgard to unlock DRK, AST and MCH. :)
@@CapnIndifferent lol really doesnt because I started playing at end of ARR and so the first "relic" wepons I did was the HW ones and I have done 6 of them.... and I havnt completed a single ARR one. It's aweful!
Please please please! Soulglaze your relic by going to Jaulzahn or else you will experience what I have been through not getting light from activities. I am on about novus to nexus bit.
Someone else already said this, but I 100% attribute the completion of my arr relic to this guide. I would've had absolutely no idea what to do or who to talk to next without it! Thank you so much
Small addition to the 4 repeatables stage. You must complete "One Man's Trash" mystery map quest from north shroud even if you are just going buy the maps or you wont be able to speak to Brangwine to pick up A Treasured Mother once you reach that step.
You don’t show or tell what weapon you are on just the quest and it’s pretty confusing. Maybe put pictures or actually take the time to tell if your at whatever weapon and the ilvl
Pro tip: the Book FATEs spawn in 3s, so if one of the FATEs are up, the other 2 are also up within a few minutes of each other. If you somehow missed it, then it was completed before you got there. This change went into effect in later expansions along with the reduced time to spawn rare FATEs to make this part of the grind easier.
Honestly, I did this back when it was current. It was awful. The fact they haven't reduced after so long (after your first) is insane. It really needs to be addressed. With 21 classes around the corner, relics are too much to keep pacing with.
completed, just now. took less than a week of focused effort! this guide was super helpful, thank you!! (luckily, we had seals, leve allowances, and poetics on hand when we started)
My personal Light Farm is Ifrit Normal. If you're even close to level cap it takes around 6 seconds to do it, you don't need to worry about any possible loot drops and even at the weakest amount of light it's still faster than a dungeon just for travel time alone.
Moggle Mog Extreme is faster imho. If you do it right/have enough damage you can kill him in under 30 seconds, which gives you 32 light. Including loading screens it should be the fastest way to farm light in a numerical sense.
Just finished my Sasuke Zeta following along this guide, but I just spammed Aurum vale for light and Mahatmas not caring about the Bonus as I could clear with my lvl 74 NIN in just under 2min.Instead I was chasing my personal best time to stay motivated, got the Bonus for the Mahatmas anyway and it was done in no time =) Thanks for the great guide, will be back in some time for the HW relic guide.
Great guide, helped me a lot. For some reason, I decided to do the ninja weapons from start to finish in 4 days. Can't say I ever want to grind that hard again but I'm glad I got the daggers, rofl.
I did the same thing for Paladin. Took me 4 days of non-stop grinding. Never again. Well...I plan on white mage and black mage weapons...but will do them much more relaxed this time
As a sorta of 10 yr anniversary to the game i decided to finally do this which i been putting off for 2 yrs. Amnnnddddd its going lol. Just really pacing myself so i dont burn out with this quest. I finally made it to the light farming.. so the end is in sight!!!
Geez, this is more involved than the Breaching the Tomb achievement in WoW, and I completed that 9 times for the the different Order Hall mounts. I think just the first versions of each weapon would be enough for me if I decide to put the effort into getting them.
on the final stage now! only took me a year to get through the books, light wasnt bad its actually feels faster to spam thorn march ex, can be completed in 30 secs and is gurantee 32 light everytime with no bonus.
Just picked up last quest rise and shine for the start of the mahatmas. Going for my Warrior Weapon. Cant wait to finish this thing. Its been a LONG grind. 10/10 will not be doing a second one. All said and done if youre buying items from the market board its about half a million gil for those 6 items. Or near that much. People price gouge because they can. Oh well.
I'm only at the step with the book by now and hoped I'm close to the end by now. Wtf...why am I doing that again? For a stupid nicely sparkling weapon? Haaaach...okay. It's not like there's nothing else to do xD yay, let's do it!
I'm not sure if they will change the part about HQ items after endwalker or not but I guess that will make it easier in the zodiac step, also awesome video ✌️♥️
They said all hq items that are gathered or dropped will be removed the only hq items you can get are those you acquire through crafting (poor gatherers)
Swear to God when I finish getting my weapon I'm gonna be walking with it up my ass loud and proud, this is such a CRAZY GRIND. The guide itself is perfect, a lot of detail, thanks ♥
I believe you can get book credit for the step to animus simply for participating. Gold medal isn't necessary as long as you earn something. For FATEs.
I'm almost finished with my Longinus Zeta and this was easily the worst grind I've ever experienced in this game. Needless to say I'm never doing this shit again.
Got through this recently, and this guide was a godsend. I was mentally repeating your line, "if you can complete the books, you can complete the rest," like a mantra to keep myself motivated through that step. Excalibur Zeta is so pretty though that it was all worth it! I started the HW relic next, and I liked how you can turn in the Zeta weapon to skip the grind at the start. I wish that there was something similar for every relic quest, since the idea of it being the same weapon through each expansion continuing to change forms and grow alongside you is really nice.
Just got my Curtana & Holy Shield Zenith. Now I am running around the world completeing FATEs xD got the whole Shroud Bussiness behind me. Now for Thanalan and La Noscea.
great guide (one caveat): the materia melding. the charts and etc, mad eit way unnecessarily complicated. who cares about the stats on this? its 110? I have a 590. so, the goal is just squeeze 75 melds, whatever is cheapest! spellspeed on my WAR weapon, who cares. quickarm and quicktongue were by far the cheapest materia on the MB, so, ya, my WAR Bravura has spellspeed!
It's just not my jam to leave things at that. I never say you have to min-max the stats, but I tried to make sure all viewers know exactly how the system works so they can make their own decisions.
I've done white mage a few years back and now I'm on the matiera step for bard, god I hate this grind but the weapons are by far some of the best. Good luck to everyone out there, and thank you for reminding me where to go!
