Always wanted to see the Vaults there... In all these years I never saw an open window or breech in that building! My curiosity is quenched! Love the Vault doors - they were absolute beasts... James Bond Gold finger caliber doors!
Never ever held Gold Bullion. Was a cash holding centre to service the Banks In Bristol before they set up their own "bullion" centres. Gold was only ever held in Threadneedle Street London.
I honestly do not like it when Jordan screams in that way he does, its like nails on a chalkboard to me,, worse maybe.... But other than that it was good..
Jordan is an absolute legend I didn’t like him to start with for the same reason but now I find him hilarious an is one of my favourite explorers to work with Matthew he is like marmite but he will grow on you after a while
Its a shame the conversation with the police officer was not included at the end of the video. I would have loved to know how you dealt with the incident.
I had to secreet my sd card away... they took my camera and all my gear when they arrested us. A little legal shenigans and we got all out stuff back quickly though. I will try and explain on a live soon.
Great explore Matt like the old jimmy Saville helpline on the phone always have a laugh at that one keep the great explores going Matt great videos 👍👍👍👍
A big cash facility like that might of shredded old currency as well. Those blue blowers in the mechanical room in the first building could be where the shredded money went. via a large pipe. The secure server room could of been used for wire transfers. I worked as a contractor in a federal reserve bank in the states for two months years ago. Looked kinda the same as where you were. I remember standing on pallets of clear wrapped cash pulling wire across a ceiling in a vault. Thanks for the video.
It's the UK not the US and things are done in different ways. Not saying one way is better than the other, just different. As for shredded money, it's only ever destroyed at the Royal Mint in Llantrisant in Wales and almost always by Incineration not shredding.
Am intrigued by the wire pulling, can't picture what you describe.. immediately think of the metal strip in each bank note ....but please could you elaborate on this procedure 😊
@@hoohargh9945 Sorry if I wasn't clear. I worked for a security company and we were installing access control, alarm and video cabling throughout the building and we couldn't use ladders in the vault as there was no room. We had to stand on the top of pallets of currency while running a cable across the ceiling. this was a while ago in 1999 where the place was stocked up on cash incase of any year 2000 issues.
I'm a little dissapointed in this video. From what it seems to me, all the interesting parts especially in the plant room were just glanced over. Feels more like a walk around than explore.
Very cool explore wow. That vaults I imagine had Gold in the past. I found some references online to storing Bullion at this location but it is not official BOE. I imagine after gold standard ended they stored cash than servers. Gold > cash > servers I guess.
What the hell was the voice at 19:48 as you panned left from the orange boilers, as you looked at the health and safety poster and eleccy shock poster, it was like a spooky quiet voice saying "Watch iiit" or something like that... Defo didnt sound like a door....
