There had been a couple of reports of people buying stuff off of craigslist and Facebook marketplace using fake money. Days after those there was a call from a local convenience store where a 20 year old was attempting to pay for gas with a fake $20 bill ( movie prop money ). The man claimed that he sold a PS5 to someone for $500 and was given the fake currency.
There was a 17 year old juvenile (blurred in the video) that arrived with the other suspect, he then exited the car when the police arrived and was acting very strange. They located 15 additional fake $20 bills on the juvenile..he had real money in one pocket and the fake bills in the other in what appears to be done to not mix the two together.
They were both arrested, the 20 year old was charged with Counterfeiting and the 17 year old was released to one of his parents. The case appears to be still pending and the suspect is out on bond.
