Because so will your heart age and rust along with it. You rise up because you wish to change the world, through "freedom" and "self-expression," yet you end up following the steps of the world, being changed by the world. You seek nothing new. Your attempts to be freed are flawed just like your spirit is flawed as well, and all of this, not because of particular situations in your childhood or teenage years, but because of sin. You walk like the blind and you listen to the blind and all of this to lose your soul not just here on earth but for eternity also. Jesus gave man a path to walk on, one that cleans the unclean, one that will give life to the spirit. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”, and this, free to all who are seeking truth and not mere pleasure or temporal happiness. God wants you to live, but in spirit, because just as your flesh will one day die, so will your spirit die because of sin. Sin is what has you in heavy chains, sin is what has led to your misery, sin is what made you rebel against God, who is a God of Love. So here you say "I hate you God" but then you cry "I want love...". So I repeat, the blind will follow the blind, not knowing what they say or think, but simply reacting to the flesh. Unable to discern sin which is spiritual, because they are dead in spirit. Let's say you broke the law, and you have a list of fines. But, the judge tells you, "Well, it seems that a man has paid your fines. So, despite your crime, you're free to go, and this still being legal and just." You can be set free from the world, through Jesus who died for you, He shed blood for your freedom, Jesus paid your fine, so you won't be counted in the judgment to come by a Holy and Angry God. But this, only to those who surrender everything to Jesus, following him and repenting of the path you’ve walked on praising sin. This is the choice all men have to do. You are either a slave to sin and this world waiting for eternal condemnation in hell to come. Or a free man living a holy life, waiting for the Kingdom of God to Come. Choose. Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
