Is it possible to create an option for less torque during calibration? The amount of torque the motors generate during calibration is unnecessary, I understand turning down the torque "fixes" this problem, however, I need the torque high for speed. A low-torque calibration option would save me a lot of time on set.
Rather than inputting manual T-stops, could we not just have a dummy iris scale to adjust using the slider and thus giving us the same 'mock' depth of field calculations, removing the need to enter numbers each time the iris changes ever so slightly?
We are working on a Focusbug license support update for the CUB-1 and cforce mini RF. We can’t provide an exact release date yet, but we are working on it with a high priority
Cool updates, but why would you put effort in making an screensaver option when I can’t even use my cforce mini RF motor with camera control on an Alexa 35 and many other bugs?
Thank you, for your feedback and we’re glad that you like the updates. The ALEXA 35 has the latest generation of RF-EMIP module integrated and there is no technical advantage in using the cforce mini RF as a radio host with this camera, as long as you can avoid blocking the ALEXA 35 antenna with other components. We are also working on an update for the cforce mini RF and it will support this feature soon.
Amazing update thank you! Could it be possible, in the tally knob status, to keep our preferred colour when in stand by, and switch to red when recording instead of green? Thank you!
FEATURE REQUEST: When Lens mapping an i/ data lens, can we have an auto map function. Where after we name the lens and we get to mapping. We then would select auto map, and the Hi-5 would run the motors through the range to read the i/data to map the lens. Feels silly now to have I/data but then use my eye to map the marks. Possible?
Hey Randall, thanks for the suggestion, we spoke about this in the Product Management team today. The /i protocol doesn't actually include the marks of the lens though, it just has the current distance read out, so you would still need to define which marks you'd like to put into the lens file. Cool idea though, we'll put it on the feature request list. -Sean
Hola! This is a known issue and is specified in the release notes. We will add ES selection to a future firmware update. Este es un problema conocido y se especifica en las notas de la versión. Añadiremos la selección ES en una futura actualización del firmware.
The LCUBE CUB-1 works now with the Focusbug using the cforce mini RF motor. Focus information is relayed properly to the Hi-5; you just can't configure the Focusbug on the Hi-5, you have to use the Handset Control unit.
@@derekjcooper Hey Derek, what I want to know is, when will there be a SUP that allows access to the Focus Bug License and Hi speed/Bi Directional serial communication. I understand that the system currently displays a distance read out.

Hi ARRI Team, wow! that's a remote, bravo! My question if it could be possible when we use a cinetape or a cineRT, to have just the distance of the range finder on the display of the Hi5, I feel confused when i see both distances (Lens distance and range finder) it will be great to have the possibility to just read-out in big number the range finder on the center of the hand unit, and turn off the big numbers lens "real" distance. The real distance of the lens is already on the side of the screen and on the knob, Maybe these 2 central displays could be useful to have the option of 2 x views -The bug device from cine RT. EX.: The Top view could be the range finder and the bottom one could be the bug device (vice/ versa). Best regards Martin.
Cool idea! We’ve refined the focus tracking visualization on the Hi-5 display with many users and realized it is extremely important to immediately notice that focus tracking is on when looking at the display. In some circumstances it might be too late if you get the message only when you already try pulling focus.
A lens file is a mapping of a specific lens for the ARRI ECS system. You need it to get lens scales, as well the current Focus, Iris or Zoom values in your System.
Some great updates! Looking forward to the LCUB update with Focusbug license. I wish I had known you were going to make reverse focus Smart Rings before I spent $500 on the standard ones 🥲
Thank you for your feedback! We really hope the new reverse and left hander smart focus rings will make the life of many Hi-5 users easier. Regarding CUB-1, we are working on a Focusbug license support update for the CUB-1 and cforce mini RF. We can’t provide an exact release date yet, but we are working on it with a high priority.
