One month ago, before the cookies and Kingfeemer I flew into Delhi's Indira Gandhi airport to wait for Harald Baldr and begin our trip across the amazing country that is India.
I tried uploading this video literally 20 times in India but for some reason it wouldn't upload. Doesn't make much sense to do it now one month after our arrival but hey better late than never I suppose.
Even with Rs. 1000 You can't get inside as an Indian unless You have a passport and a valid ticket departing international flight. As foreigner You can always say You want to change money inside airport or pickup Your luggage from left luggage show passport and receipt! Even then they might charge You Rs. 100,- which is not much even in India!
From years ago, there used to be loads of people who would come to see off their relatives flying off to the West - I've seen 15-20 people coming to see off one guy. Mostly they were from small towns/villages who'd probably never flown themselves. If they all entered the airport, it would be mayhem, hence the ticket. Same thing used to happen at major railway stations. Probably much less so nowadays.
@@baldandbankrupt Even with money You can only enter the airport with a valid international ticket in the coming 5 hours! It's because of the terror attacks! Also they don't want beggars inside the airports asking tourists for money. Beggars think somebody who can afford an international flight is a millionaire! As a foreigner You can always enter the airport to change money{foreign currency} with a valid passport and a plane ticket. Same phenomen in Germany, You find frequently beggars asking for money on trains going to distant destinations so they introduced a platform ticket in Germany!
@@baldandbankrupt discovered you guys a few days ago and without doubt best travel vlog/videos I've come across, up there with Michale Palin. Love your work and please don't stop!
My husband and I have been watching all your Soviet series and thoroughly enjoying them. My husband was raised in a Russian/Ukrainian home in Saskatchewan, Canada and has found by watching this series some of his understanding of the language has returned, so thank you for that. We are starting to watch the India series as we eat our lunch in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, Canada!
@@baldandbankrupt Try to build a custom-made wig, they are very skilled in India. As You can see Anupam Kher{bald} in Lootere and Raza Murad in many movies with wigs.
He once landed in India and went back with a blessing in disguise.. Bald has become such a popular figure as a you tube star with the Calibre of his humour and wits ...
I sincerely hope Your channel keeps growing mate. Proper down to earth exploration! Me and my old man have travelled to India a few times together and we can’t get enough of your videos. All The best
Love that this video popped up to watch again ! I love to watch you together, as well as on your own ! Thank you for sharing your laughs along the way on your journey ! Enjoy your channel from The USA !
I was confused on arriving in India until I read your comment. 😄 At least it's uploaded now. I recently discovered yours and Harald's channels, and you have me hooked. I'll eventually have a Mr. Bald and Harald marathon and catch up.😊 I can't sleep sitting up either. I'd have to be just about dead. 😵 lol
They are men, they can roam streets alone, you cant, I wouldnt allow my sister to roam streets alone at night either, and dont trust anyone, book hotels through makemytrip, not oyo(sometimes it gives shady hotels) but makemytrip. Dont go alone at night, dont go outside hotel at night at all if its not perfect famous public place. Make a local female friend if you can, she will guide you. Trust me. I am an Indian. Not everyone is like me. And yes India is fcukin amazing, trust me. Enjoy and welcome to India. If these steps are taken with cautions, trip to India will be memorable. Remember, India is amazing and diverse country, but northern India, especially UP, rajasthan,Delhi and Haryana are not safe for women at all. Gujarat and mumbai(west India)is safe, even at night, even at 3AM, alone. Good luck. And dont forget to try every food, especially vegetarian. 😉
hey man, i just sub'd after watching like 20 of your videos. honestly man, youve been doing great going on and about india. im indian and it took me a while to pick up some of the stuff. but when your there, you always have to be skeptical, because not everyone is lookin out for you. But your doing amazing my dude keep it up, I hope to watch more videos in the future
You do something amazing, no borders, no political wise sponsered format...true life. Most kind regards from little belgium (and kind regards from my 95 years old babuchka from bellaruss (and more..long stories), who doesn't see well but had very good ears.
Some developing nations charge people to enter the airport so they don't get riff raff to just walk in and sleep inside, they do this in the Philippines too.
Airport is built and maintained by a company (named GMR INFRA) and they have to recover it from the people using the airport property. That's why they charge ₹100.
Loving your work Mr Bald i can't believe you was so camera shy in Harald's previous uploads. Im glad he persuaded you to make your own videos because you are a natural my friend in front of the camera. You have interesting take on things very informative and funny expressions at the same time. The nightmare bus journey was hilarious i could feel your pain lol. I especially like your eastern block travels not sure i would be brave enough to go to Dagestan etc when not speaking enough Russian. I feared for you when stranded on that snowy mountain pass. Fortune does favour the brave lol. I think i should visit belarus one of these days. I understand you worked in India hotel for years so could understand learning Hindi but what was reasons for learning Russian. You seem to have lived a interesting life hopefully tell your story more down the line if you have family other places you have lived etc. I look forward to future posts in new countries. I like your voice over narration aswell good story telling. All the best brother keep up the good work. P.S Do you base yourself in england and will you ever divulge your real name :)
Wow, Mr Bald your life story is beyond amazing ! Your life story can become bollywood movie ! One life is not enough !! Your love for India is awesome ! Pranam, namaste and may you always stay blessed
Yours and haralds vids remind me why i love travelling . Even the long plain and bus journeys that take for ever and leave you tired and confused , then that buzzing feeling as you check through the new airport and head out into the world . Keep posting the good shit man , if i ever cross paths with you il buy you a beer 😎
Well, it is actually beautiful to see out of the window in an airplane, provided the conditions are right and lights are dimmed. Thousands of uncountable stars. Just a marvel of universe
this channel grow so much :D I was in the first thousand subscribers, couldn't stop watching for his videos and I was waiting for all new videos. Bald deserves it.
Thank you, friend. You are my spirit animal. Inspiring. Great manners and honesty, feel sad you left India. I saw your Indus river tribute to Shivji. Hope you will return. Three weeks you got to do many friends from mystic India. I will watch your Russian your too. You are the best traveller polite and Harald also is excellent.
Watching the start, now after seeing the raw footage of the journey, I can't help but think how the opening here could be an auspicious intro to a short feature film created from the best of your adventure.
No Fricking way. I started watching Harold and got on to your channel and thought you two were like brothers from different mothers and then to find out your friends. Crazy. Love both your channels and started watching Tim as well.

I watch your videos all the time and enjoy all of them. You go to some of the most interesting places on Earth and meet very interesting people. One day when I have some time I want to do what you do....best job in the world.
I've just started watching all of your videos, starting from the oldest uploads. I find it a bit confusing since they seem pretty randomly uploaded and the playlists you made don't seem ordered either. I love getting lost in your videos anyway, but I think it would be helpful if you organized them a bit better, so we can follow the timeline easier! thank you for all the great content!
