My beloved Aunt Avery whom we called Betsy is in this! She plays the role of the woman in blue who stumbles into the suitcases at the very beginning of the movie, when Toni is at the airport! My Aunt was an AMAZING WOMAN! She was a Naval Lawyer, could sing, dance, spoke two languages fluently, had the most dynamite sense of humor and remained beautiful both in spirit and body until she passed! I'm so so happy that a small clip of her is immortalized in film! She considered acting and loved movies living in Canne France where they held The Film Festivals but it's my understanding she had to pick between working with the Navy versus acting she chose the Navy after this but she was such a strong, kind woman she could have done both! I miss her so much❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing this movie!
I think it's because he lost most of his famous and powerful Hollywood friends after he left Janet Leigh for another woman. Before that he was on his way to superstardom, but lost respect for hurting Janet.
I knew Tony Curtis a long time ago with "The Persuaders" and now I discover that he was a very talented actor. From "Trapeze" passing by "The strangler of Boston". And now with this movie, I can see he was a complete actor. Thanks for having shared.
Nancy Kwan so naturally beautiful. I was next to her while shopping at Beverly Hills, California, Robinsons Department store. I greeted her abd she gave me a big smile. This was around year 1995.
Never watched this before, my mama had me in 1966. Curtis is seen at the children's home when sixteen, when he's actually forty-one, comedy can be stretched beyond belief at times.
Just got this movie on YT..never seen it before, but my introduction to the Curtis charm was in about 1955 in The Prince who was a thief ..with Piper Laurie. Can't beat the old movies which had such entertaining stories. From RSA 🇿🇦🇿🇦
The Prince who was a thief. A movie I plan to watch next. I haven't seen this movie in such a long time. Definitely looking forward to seeing it again.

I can't resist, I absolutely loved this movie and Tony Curtis was quite a handsome young man... I totally loved old movies, something about those yesteryears, they were golden!!! Thanks for sharing this, I really appreciate it...🌻🌻🌻
Don't get why Curtis never won an Oscar. He was an excellent & versatile actor who really put himself out there for some of the more difficult roles he took on.
This film has it all! Comedy, capers, the Italian and French rivieras, murder, romance, rockets, explosions, fast cars, beautiful women, English manor houses, butlers, Italian priests, nuns, croquet, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Tony Curtis a deliberately cartoonish atmosphere and so much spaghetti! When I sit down to watch a movie, it is really this movie I want to watch. Tony Curtis is the best!
They get their money by having slaves to do the work: remember that fat billionaire asset-stripping department-store tycoon, who told one of his workers: "you belong to ME!" ?
Dennis Farnon, the composer of this movie, also composed for a few Jay Ward productions, those being Fractured Flickers (composed alongside Fred Steiner) and Hoppity Hooper (composed solo), which the soundtrack to these shows were licensed as library music tracks for Conroy and Chappell. Him taking his Jay Ward style to anything is just awesome. =)
His character was politically incorrect, even then, not Mr Mitchell. The writers meant is to laugh at his ignorance and stupidity. This was the show which was remade in the US as All in the family. At time of this movie, the actor playing the old man was 40! He was a fine actor and his characterisation of Alf Garnett was one of TVs greatest. A monster hiding in plain sight, a sentimental, reactionary, jingoistic, bully boy misogynist.
@@lifeworksndhenterprisesllc6597 no " Archie Bunker " is the American Alf Garnett, " Till death us do part" first aired in the UK July 1965, " All in the Family" first aired in the States January 1971, 6 years of " Alf Garnett " and his silly moo with his myopic views till you Americans were brave enough to try it.
@@maestroclassico5801 likely stuck in only asian girl roles for most parts based on the timel hence why I say this one is odd as it has nothing to do with her race. But thats the only good thing I can say about this film. I found it quite disturbing having attractive nice women killed for their money...yeesch
A man ( Tony Curtis) who kills his wife’s for money meets a woman ( Rosanna schiaffino) who plans to dispose of him! Pretty good movie - Tony Curtis shows his comedic talents in this one-dig that 1964 ford thunderbird-too bad it blew up! Lionel Jeffries,Zia zsa Gabor,Nancy kwan did their best roles in this flick! Good 👍 film 🎥! 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤
This is hysterical! Why I loved Tony Curtis comedy.Impeccable timing. You see the same comic flare in his daughter Jamie Leigh Curtis. I’ve never seen this one. Love it. In its own way as good as Some Like it Hot.
👏 👏 👏 APPLAUSE, 💘 Tony Curtis.... You just have to concentrate on this man,Tony Curtis. He was like the wheel of good fortune in all his movies. My 3 favorite comics in the movies. Tony Curtiss Jack Lemon Rock Hudson This was a great movie
Nice, France, like it used to be.... and Rome, full of nothing else but "Romani" and empty of tourists. What a great time. I really am priviliged to have known and lived in both places.
A silver screen gem! How come l missed this one? Thank you. Zsa Zsa, oo la la's:- _"I wanna guy who's kind AND understanding: is it too much to ask ... of a billionaire?"_ _"How many husbands have l had? You mean apart from my own?"_
Reading the comments reminds me of a funny experience I once had in a dark theater audience as the Pink Panther began on the screen. About 10 minutes in - a child's voice in the dark said: "Mommy when will it start to get funny" :) Just like this movie - some will get it, others wonder when it will get funny.
Rosanna Schiaffino (25 November 1939 - 17 October 2009) was an Italian film actress. She appeared on the covers of Italian, German, French, British and American magazines
First time watching this movie. I'll say they don't make movies like that anymore! And the lead actress I think she's beautiful, she may not be Sophia Loren or Gina Llolabrigida or Pier Angeli, but in my opinion she's a beautiful woman may she Rest in Peace and so the late Tonight Curtis. From a movie fanatic.
Rosannah Shiaffino, Isa Barziza, Anne Vernon, Suzannah York, Sarah Miles and Barbara Parkins- for me, the most beautiful actresses ever (in their prime). Definitely.
Ì donf know why everyone saying yuck about tony gurtis he was one of the most handsome men in hollywood, and had the most pretty eyes and i am not saying that about his eyes because they were blue but because he had very nice eyes even if they were blue. and avery nice handsome face. So whwt is the hastle about tony curtis i may have spelled his name wrong but you all know who i mean. So stop hating, most of you do not know much about him and his talent in movies in hollywood because most of u that r commenting r too darn young u only know about the stars of today. Not of the great stars of yesterday, today, and, always si do more studying or watching movies on TCM CHANNEL 82.AND THEN U WILL SEE THE DIFFERANCE about the looks and talent of the stars then and now.thank u 4 listening Maria is my name.
Maria Tobe he was an excellent comedian, and yes, very handsome. Today the so called ‘star’ men are and look like boys, all look pretty much the same and ‘comedy’ is all about special effects and filth. I have completely given up watching modern movies, but watch these old doozys a lot.
I have never seen a movie like this before, thought the orphan scene hilarious bordering on kinky, then I fell asleep, great way to forget the corona virus for a while, later I watched again, charming parody. Remember vaguely a movie with Liz Taylor and Warren Beatty with Las Vegas background like this.
I was 10 when I saw this on tv, and absolutely laughed my head off at Tony Curtis talking to the camera and killing his adoptive mother. He was a genius:)
Wow you was 10 and you watched this immoral movie about murder, and sexual immorality? Did you realise that Satan stall your innocence that early in life? I feel sad😥 I hope you did not follow the example that was set for you deliberately to take your SOUL to HELL. You know your innocence can be restored? Ask Jesus Christ to save YOU from your SINS and ask him for Holy Spirit. You will be changed and you will know the TRUTH and he will set you FREE. Than if you each this movie again you will not be laughing but CRYING. May Lord Jesus have mercy on your SOUL.
@@Jesus_isLord_andGod I'm sorry if I upset you. This was a comedy movie that I enjoyed and didn't come away with a murderous attitude. I'm 62 now and was saved in 1992 for His glory. Of what is out there to watch, this old movie was harmless in my time.
@@RainsWorldVegasSlots I was not laughing at this movie I was saddened by it because 10 years old child watched this movie and her innocence was stolen from her. And I preached the gospel to this person of Jesus Christ because only Jesus can restore us and heal us.
@@ikutu7771958 Hi Linda may I ask you now that you are 62 years old and you are saved do you still think this movie is ok to watch with all the innuendo now? To be honest, I didn't watch the movie fully I skipped most of it when I saw clips just to get an understanding of this movie so I can comment. I intended to comment to you because you were shown this at 10 years old and I felt sad that your innocence was unconsciously being compromised. If I got it wrong please forgive me but surely you can see the danger of feeding young minds with subtle adult content. Surely it's all about protecting the innocence, of children.
At the 36:30 mark, Zsa Zsa Gabor was wearing the same white wedding dress and veil when she married her fifth husband, Texas oilman Joshua Cosden. Unfortunately, that marriage didn't last long either. And just like her previous six marriages, that too ended in divorce as well. And that same year, her dahlink sister Eva was doing Green Acres.
