@@BobEarnshawMoHo ah I see what you mean, I was pointing it out to others and not you Bob, as I know you wouldn't have travelled outside the restrictions 😀
I stayed at Moffat at the end of my Scottish tour. I met a car and caravan coming out as I arrived. They were obviously late leavers and looked at me like I shouldn’t have been there! 😂 That was interesting! 😂. I also noticed the plastic glove dispenser at that service station. It’s a great idea. Each time I visit Moffat I found different shops etc. It’s a handy stop over and the area warrants longer than just one night to break a journey.
That is a lovely traditional town, the name Moffat comes to my mind as the maker of demountable forklifts fitted to the back of lorries!! Thoroughly enjoying your travels. thank you.
Saw your videos by chance, and since then have not stopped watching them. Moffatt has found memories for me, as we always stayed there as a whole family, while we would be doing touring holidays of Scotland.
The colour of those trees in church yard were beautiful, Moffat looks like a pleasant village. Take care of yourselves x x our lockdown finishes tomorrow Monday after 6 weeks, 4 on local lockdown and 17 days on full lockdown 👍🏴🏴🏴🏴👍🏴🏴🏴🏴👍flowers were snap dragons( antirrhinums).
Bob n Jenny I've really enjoyed your Scotland tour and videos been to most of the places myself but you have delved into them a lot more thanks for that , very informative videos which will help other motorhome/ caravaners decide on some locations , very well done .
Really enjoyed this video. Moffat looks a great place. Your walk around was very informative. Was also nice to looking at the different shops/facilities etc.
Hi Bob and jenny, jenny is correct about the grass pitches down the bottom end.we stayed on them early 2018,I think, along the fence line.they were bad for flooding so they put them all to hardstanding.i was there in November 2021 and they were updating the bottom end again, new electricity cables and sorting the pitches I think
We've stayed a number of times over New Year in Moffat.... We were booked to stay over NewYear 2020/21 but now cancelled due to the current situation..... We couldn't get in 2019/20 and we were so looking forward to returning with our friends this year..... Gutted but we felt due to all the restrictions the 740 mile round trip was too much with so much uncertainty. The New Year firework display must be very doubtful. Hopefully next year..... Thank you for the great vids.
I remember the road from Moffat to Edinburgh when I used to deliver motorbikes. Great road. It’s on my list when I get up that way in my Autotrail Tracker 2002. I’m in North Cornwall, Bude. Thanks for all the info you put out.
Great to watch your videos👍🏻 I’ve never been to the Moffat site even though it’s not to far from me in Northumberland just 4.8 mile south of the Scottish border on the A68. I might try to go there in late December if I manage to pick my new 2020 Delaware S up from Brownhills as it’s been delayed due to the new lockdown so it’s pencilled in for 10th of December handover. Looking forward to your next video best wishes to Jenny and yourself and Poppy of course.
Bob and Jenny you Missed one of the best butchers in Scotland, Wallace brothers on the corner of Well St and the High St some of the best Haggis / Black Pudding and steak pies you will find, I never fail to stop when I'm passing Moffat. Great Video 😃😃
@@BobEarnshawMoHo comeback in spring or summer and you can stop overnight in Langholm Hawick Jedburgh and other places also Kelso is lovely if i know your around i l shout hello
A well deserved complimentary stay. Always make us feel like we are there with you, brilliant choices of sites, and lots of useful information about the area, etc. The Scotland tour has been especially interesting, for us, as you didn’t take your car along. All in all, how did you find it, just touring in Thor? You certainly didn’t seem to have any problem getting about and visiting places. 👍🏻
Hi Bob and Jenny. Just finished watching you latest vlog. We find it was very factural. For future vlogs we would love to see both you and Jenny cooking in your motorhome. Regards Matthew
Good Video brought back great memories of our first holiday in a hired a motorhome and Moffat was our first site! - have you walked up Gallow Hill? super views! watching lots of your videos in preparation for purchasing instead of hiring.
Hi . Mr& Mrs . E .. good video as normal .. used to go through , Moffat quite a lot when on the way , to & from Scotland, never had the time , to stop & look , nice trip around , thx .. back home now i trust ..??
Hi Bob n Jenny if you get a Fuelpecker card through the caravan and motorhome club then you would have got 4p off a litre from all Esso stations and 1p from shell. Thanks for videos
My mum asked if you've ever been to see The Grey Mares Tail? It's a waterfall (apparently better when there's a lot of rain).Enjoyed the video Bob and Jenny.Stay safe.
Do you, or anyone else, know what make the twin axle caravan was just on the left as you entered the site, ~8 mins in? Looked more like a spaceship than a caravan!
Do you use the fuel discount card (fuelpecker) from the Caravan & Motorhome Club? Use it at Esso stations & save roughly £1 per fill up, can be used at Shell also, but you only save 1p per litre.
Did try the other fuel card they did, but to be honest I can't be bothered hunting around to save a few pence per litre. I just avoid motorway stations.
This was recorded nearly 3 weeks ago before the English Lockdown. The central belt travel was purely advisory - we had to stop somewhere on our journey back from Inverness,
I believe you would have only accepted the CCC offer on the basis that you would only give an honest review as the three (Poppy too) have with all your other videos that I’ve seen. Iam a great believer in constructive criticism as destructive criticism helps no one in the short or long term. 👍👏
I used to be a police officer working in Moffat. Am retired now but it was a great wee town. Lovely people and very few problems. Highly recommended. Shame you didn't show the infamous Moffat ram on the High Street, but maybe you have previously?
Yes, but check the club's websites as some will be shut for winter and the travel restrictions that may apply. We are back home in England and in lockdown now, so we can't travel to Scotland.
