RC DUDE81 Thanks bro. Totally agree the wider stance is essential for this truck. Arrma has a funny way of listening to the community and something may be in the works for the next version of this truck. I would love to see them try an Outcast version of this platform. That's why I've been holding off on the Granite and most likely the Typhon too. Waiting for the temps to go north of 32 degrees but can't wait to hit the ramps the next time out. @Gursevek baller 6mm offset is more than enough. I think you will be introducing issues by using the 10mm offset.

@cyigen85 I don't own or have driven the Granite but I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I would say with the Big Rock and the Senton there seems to be more ability to interchange between multiply variations since this, the Senton and the Typhon all use that longer chassis.

Great tip. Which I seen this before I did the 12mm conversion to 17mm hubs. Cost 30$ but I'm happy with my mx28s on mine. Might grab stooge trencher x ones next.

Actually I ordered this part number and tried them on. There is play where axle just sticks out at the end. You’d need a small bearing or something to steady it on the nut end. Was disappointed with it

@@longboardguy maybe majesty (op) will help you out with it. I did the duratrax 12mm aluminum hubs and then the hot racing 12mm to 17mm hex.

Chris Watson that would be great I must be missing something. The fit is perfect as far as pins though the hubs etc. Hmm I might have a look at that conversion. I’d like to use the Typhon 3s parts for 17mm but I think it will be a while before those parts are available

@Damien Miles Is it that the extenders are flying off with the wheel or just the wheel? If it's just the wheel try some serrated nuts or a little Loctite on the extenders when you tighten down the nuts. If it's the extenders flying off with the wheel a little bit of Loctite on that nut that goes through the center should do the trick.

Ready Set RC It’s just the wheel but I keep losing the little pin. I’m using the hot racing 6mm offset 17mm hubs 12 mm hex mount. But I didn’t use the Duratrax 12mm wheel hub adapter. Could that be my problem. Do you need to use both? Thanks!

@@meversesmerc1793 The extenders I'm using converts a 12mm inner to a 17mm outer, so yes 12mm would be needed.

@Nate 17 Any 2.8 17mm hex wheel tire combo is going to work. BUT the offset on these wheels is key which is why I used this combo.

@cmcclellan80 * JayTee just posted a video of the Traxxas 17mm wheel adapter. I wanted the offset because of the rollovers. I had the same issue with the Pro-line Pro-MT and once I put the offset adapters on it, completely different truck. Same for the Big Rock.

@Warren Law Not sure I understand your question but I try to take a stab at it. So 14mm, when it comes to wheel options your very limited. Almost every wheel company out there makes a 12mm option. Best way to put it's the standard of 10th scale RC's. Now the reason I put this hex adapter on the Big Dock Crew Cab, I wanted the wider stance to give it more stability mainly on turns on throttle. Hopefully that answers the question.

@@ReadySetRC Thank you.... I am assuming that Big Rock hexes (14mm) = Granite? so how can a 12mm adapter work? that's what I'm trying to get at? Maybe I am misunderstanding the way these adapters work or where the hex measurement comes from? I thought hex is the thing the wheels plug into?

@Warren Law That is correct the hexes on the Granite are also 14mm. I replaced my 14mm with 12mm and then put a 12mm hex to 17mm hex adapter with a 6mm offset.

@@SteveS-hr8je I use my Futaba 4PL with this. Mine actually came with the Tactic TTX system but I've since heard these come with the STX system. Any 2 channel or 3 channel system should be good. If you have multiple RC's I love going the way with a controller that can hold several. Unless you like sharing your RC's out it's the best way to go. I use Futaba, Spektrum and Flysky. All great. If you are trying to keep it simple the Spektrum DX3 is a good basic controller. I've used the DX2's and the DX3's are the updated version of those. Hope this helps.

@@ReadySetRC great information. Thank you. Yes they currently come with either model controller and I've read so many reviews which are 50/50. Currently they are both priced the same and I am looking to make my decision today.

@@moblackmoney3424 Well maybe the wrong words for you. No car will turn on a dime on full throttle. Had this truck a month and the only thing didn't get upgraded is the motor, esc, front and rear shock towers. If I were to do it over again, I would.🤣🤦‍♂️

@Matthias Grill This is not about a tire change. This was about widening the stance to limit the rollovers. The extenders are 17mm which rendered the old wheels useless since they are 14mm.

@@ReadySetRC I know that it´s about widening the stance to prevent rollovers. (no offense) Just because im really new to this hobby i think i just bought the wrong tires (those www.prolineracing.com/tires/badlands-2.8-all-terrain-tires-mounted.asp) with 12mm hexes so its impossible to fix em with 17mm screw. The center rim hole is too small. I hope u understand my english.

@Perkins ShaneSav Don't know what a sentonbis is but I use to own the brushed Senton 4x4 (coverted to brushless) and this shares the same chassis. The BRCC width is wider than the Senton but it rolls over more prior to the width extension. But if you owned or driven both RC's you would not know that. Condescension does not go far without experience.

@@ReadySetRC uhm I own every armma besides 8s kraton and my 3s armma sc,handles better then the bigrock when it comes to punching the throttle going around turns that'd why I widen the stance on it.just like my trc Maxx handled like shit until I widend the wheels,like most mt trucks the wider the tires or longer a arms the better they handle ,I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about I'm 42yrs old and been into rc since the 80's and raced for 7yrs on a track upstate NY for 8yrs ,8th scale buggies annf 10th scales so I understand handling,listen in this hobby and when u have a RU-vid channel you have to be able to handle criticism or opinions,this hobby is mostly about people's opinions not facts.

But there is a gentleman way to post and there is a childish way. I'm glad to see your expertise in the hobby but I was not questioning it but it seems you were with mine. I'm about building this hobby up. This is why I started the channel. RU-vid is about opinions. My comment on the Senton and BRCC is simple. As I stated, they share the same chassis. Senton and BRCC wheelbase 12.87 inches. Width for BRCC front 12.72 inches, rear 12.91 inches. Senton width 11.7 inches. Most of the people coming into the hobby and looking for information don't want to hear "Duh cause an Sentonbis low and wide." As I said RU-vid is based on opinions and hell you may hate mine and I have no problem with that but don't post the comment if you are not expected a reply or expected the community to just have some click bait response. It's ok to dislike and move on without a comment😊

d0f1x3rr first rollover seemed so loud! I made it about 1 min into its first run.. really need wider tires, I’m waiting on parts for mine to do this. On top of too skinny of tires, I had one come apart after I went up to 3s. Just a bad choice of tires

@@ADVlife287 LOL same here man... I just ordered the duratrax tires + adapter/hot racing hex combo everyone recommends. The hex's are on back order tho at towerhobbies.com...In the meantime I was running my Granite tires and it seems to be more stable than stock.

So was it better with the upgrades. Can you turn full throttle, or are you having to ease of still?

@AJ Green Very little. Still need to manage throttle control a lot on turns to prevent it from rolling over. I don't own the Tyhon 3S but I would have to believe the offset makes it perform a lot like that.

Ready Set RC thanks for the video and the tips. I’ve been trying to decide between this, the granite blx and rustler vxl 4x4. Gonna take this one off my list. I’ll probably end up going with the granite blx. How do the granite blx and big rock compare?
