I'm not surprised your diff broke, I bought a Granite Voltage back in March because I wanted a cheap brushed 2wd truck to mess around with. The diff didn't last 5 minutes with the brushed motor for me and the part was ON BACKORDER FOR NINE MONTHS. People were complaining on the Arrma forums since Dec 2019 about the diff being on backorder and they finally didn't come back in stock until July-Aug 2020. So ever since then my Granite has been a parts bin donor haha still not too bad for $100 considering all the spare parts I got for it. BUT it does make a terrible first RC though, the lack of upgradability, the chassis/shock towers are all one unit, you have to take the entire truck apart to change the diff so it's a pain to work on, and Arrma parts support are really suspect, waiting NINE MONTHS for a part is unacceptable.
Yeah, I’ve heard horror stories about it but that wasn’t my experience. It’s hit or miss sometimes, I’ve got a buddy that’s been waiting that long on Kyosho parts. No joke. I have a theory that Arrma really doesn’t make those trucks. They just stamp their name on it and sell it at $100 to fill a hole in the market. Meh. More power to them.
Yes I've had one for 3 years or so. Its upgraded to brushless 3000kv motor and esc. I kept stripping out drive cups more then diffs. So I replaced them with metal cups havent had a problem since. Now just diffs every now and then. The main problem 3 chassis later is the motor mount holes likes to crack alot since its plastic. I wish they would come out with a aluminium chassis upgrade for it or something. I also replaced servo and shocks has trackstar shocks and chevy Silverado body now and proline super swampers 2.8.
Forgot the most important thing put T-bone racing wheelie bar they make one for it and basher front bumper also need that wheelie bar it's a must when u go brushless have no problems with control now even on hard road
Actually they dont make them for the granite voltage. I read on internet about ppl having problems with the plastic one s and a guy had done this and gave me item # for some from a different arrma rc and cost like $15 and I tried they worked if ur interested I'm sure I can find out which ones it was they come with a grub screw hold them on. Sorry wasnt more exact about those.
Well one more thing I just found integy makes the whole rear axle for granite voltage with drive cups and all kinds of alloy upgrades from bulkheads to shock and body mounts hub carriers caster blocks wheel hexes and more and the axles r $30.99 with cups and all.
That sounds like stripped gears, but check the diff outdrive cups. They may have just rounded off where they slip onto the transmission. That's the issue that I had with mine. Cheap part and takes about 3 min. to replace. I've had fun with mine, but definitely lacking in the durability dept.
All these horror stories. Damn. I hated the split frame but I went to a 4000kv brushless a year and a half ago. Just went through the whole truck start to finish in two and a half hours. No big deal.

I bet you the drive cup is stripped. Sometimes they strip without actually breaking in half. I do have an Arrma Voltage, was a Fazon but I truned it into a Granite. I've stripped gears twice with the stock brushed motor on stock gearing. I've also stripped and broken many of those outdrives from normal use. I mean small jumps and putting around in the street the driveline just falls apart. I had always planned to go brushless with it, but I quickly realized that it's just not going to hold up. If someone made a steel gear set for the truck, I'd buy it even at $100, but they just don't have it. And by the way, that issue with your stock esc burning up, yep had that too. Can contact Horizon Hobby and they will replace it free of charge, but you might have to get it replaced 6 times before you get a good one. That's what happened to me.
Did you watch RC Drivers upgrade of this truck. I loved this idea after watching that video a year or so ago. It’s a beast after upgrade! Love these types of upgrade videos the best . All day erry day!
You were saying you had a program card for the ESC, and I'm pretty sure that'll fix the delay issue. I put a small brushless system in a LaTrax Teton of mine and it seemed a bit delayed at first. Turned the punch level up, and seemed to fix it.
Don't do it! ...or buy 20 replacement drivecups and diffs. There's no slipper clutch on these. Great, Fun truck as is, stock for only $100. Leave it that way!
Wassup 10th scale!! You should find a used 🏰 Castle hobbies BEERCAN motor, the biggest one they have, strap that to a 150 amper. THEN, set up for a long distance jump, give it throttle and....... LAUNCH IT!! It might be lights out at that point, but, it sure sounds like fun carnage, doesn't it???? 👍💯☑️🤣

You legit can’t do huge upgrades on this thing though. You can only do so much. There was a guy, I forget his name and channel, but he got this thing to go over 60mph. He was only building it for speed runs though. He knew it won’t last with the upgrades. Just wanted to see what it could do.
Stretch it! Turn it into a 1/5 scale like RCManiaDotCom did with his Stampede ( tho his no longer producing Videos because he got burnt out) and I plan on doing to mine. HAND Make Some Parts for it out of Aluminum and Only Using a Hacksaw, File, Drill like I did with a few of my trucks... mostly A-arms and Shock Towers and a few other Easily done parts.
@@10thScaleGarage 3D printers were not around back in Early 2000's and used tools I had lying around the Hobby Shop I hung out at all day, everyday... Didn't Officially work for they guy just hung out and did everything a employee would do.. Paid under the table.. I Still need to make a 1/5 Frame for my Savage since no one makes/sells them anymore and when they did...$$$$$$$$$$... The Plastic in the Granite is Supper Soft. I Dented the Rims with my Fingernail.. That's why they rounded out. No Jump bigger than what you were doing and running it through Grass. Even at $99, it's kinda not worth it. By the time you upgrade it, Might as well went to Banggood/Aliexpress and got a Pirate1 or 2 or Any of their 1/8 trucks..
I think you should try installing some hop ups, aren’t some parts between voltage and other arrmas interchangeable? I wonder how good of a base for a drag racer it would be
Well, you did toast it in a pool for no good reason. The ESC is waterproof, but there are limits to the IP standard. Who expects to drive their RC in a pool?
It might be “splashproof” but definitely not waterproof. I send my RCs through puddles, water, snow and even do water crossings. This truck obviously wasn’t designed for any of that, but I have a bunch of rigs that could pass that test.
I wouldn't recommend the brushless system I got. The servos are ~$10 on bang good (link on the community page) and the reciever will only work if you have a Spektrum DSMR transmitter.
I can't remember the brand name but you need a transmitter, reciever, servo, ESC and motor. You can do the conversion for about $100 but you're better off getting a different truck at that point.
Thanks. My buddy has a v1 granite voltage and it isn't working. I think it's the receiver but just in case it's the motor/esc I wanted to have a good option.
