I'm just getting to your review at 1:35 am ( Globe Arizona time ), Thank you for your honest review ! I have the outcast 8s and my plan is to take the motor and electronics out of the original 8s and install them in the EXB . I am buying two game changer fans and a Reefs Raw 500 servo . After BasherQueen gets up and going then I'm going to completely rebuild the original 8s with her stuff and make the original a dually . Thanks Earl for the great videos !
Awesome vid. Def like what I’m seeing . Have the 6s kraton. Only bashed once and the center diff leaks already. Have an infraction awesome car . But this exb is calling .
Hey brotha , so glad you bought this one. I'm not a fan of the 8s kraton EXB either. I sold mine after just a few runs. Love my V1 Outcast 8s though. Looking fwd to your side by side comparison.i know how much your RCs love trees 🤣 if it can take an Earl bashing and you think it's a solid worthwhile RC then I think I may just buy one.
HELLO EARL! Funny thing is, I bought the same servo, guys at the hobby shop said it’s ok it’s not that great, I was in a pinch and was the only one left, come to find out you use that one! Cool! I just got done building the car. I plan on shooting a video tomorrow. No holding back. I wanted to test it so people know what there really getting. Glad you got it! Can’t wait to see what you do with it!
@@earlmoorhead5555 I just got a xlx2 1100kv which roller is the best in your opinion I don't do alot of jumping, kraton 8s exb or outcast and I already have both vehicles in RTR
Earl, I have front to back play on my spur shaft on the EXB. It’s internal no end play. Is that normal? It’s put together correctly with the speed pinion. Thanks Earl.
@@earlmoorhead5555 mine was excessive. I shimmed it so there was a little play but not 1/4” lol. It made gear noise bench testing. That’s how I figured it out. It’s all good now!
The two things I'll say arrma got 100% right with their 8s vehicles is how easy it is to put basically any electronics in them, and the drivetrain. The differentials on these things are such beasts. Durability is OKAY, the EXBs are a lot better, but the arms and wing mount still leave a lot to be desired.
@@earlmoorhead5555 What does EXB stand for bud ? I googled it and cant find anything. Does it stand for " extreem basher " ? How come your not a fan of the Kraton ? Everyone who has it I hear loves it. I use to have a old school savage x 4.6 nitro and I loved it ! Very tuff truck ! Only broke small stuff and Its my own fault lol Id like to get a arrma talion EXB or the Kraton EXB not sure what I want yet. Id love to get the HPI Savage XL flux v2 ( the orange electric one ) but it needs new servo and like id have to get rid of dean connectors ect Id also consider the HPI Vorza S truggy ( the green one ) but it sits so low ! Like to low for me I think. What do you think is the most durable 1/8th truggy or monster truck ?
What do you recommend for batteries? I heard 5000 mah size LiPos don’t last too long (10-15 minutes). I figured if I get a 1/5 scale I would need at least 7000 mah rated batteries.
Stunt trucks have never been my style. I had a bunch of spare parts so I recently built a 6s. I gotta tell ya, I’ve been having a blast with it. With all that being said,I just saw a flash sale for the 8s rtr and I was wondering what your opinion was comparing the EXB & RTR. If for nothing else, I’ll grab it to add to the collection. Thanks for the vid🤙🏽
EXB and RTR both having differential issues on the 6s line as the differential cases are an issue but the 8s line seems to do better but over time those differential cases will have the same issue but luckily there are fixes out already just factor in that purchase it the cost and your good 👌
@@earlmoorhead5555 I always count on diff work when it comes to Arrma. But you guys have turned me into a Pro when it comes to building diffs properly. I kinda look forward to it. Gives me a piece of mind.
I think 🤔 so I love my rtr outcast so now my Kraton 8s v1.0 is going to be retired for a parts rig since I have two KRATONS v1.5 I’ll keep complete 👍👍💯💯
I have a hobbywing in my rtr outcast 8s and I like castle esc for tuning and troubleshooting with castle link I feel the magnets in castle motors are stronger then hobbywing motors so the punch is stronger in my eyes 👀👍👍🔥🔥
@@earlmoorhead5555 thank you for explaining i I've been waiting for the EXP outcast to come out because all of these other arm is you have to spend double the price of the car to get them so they don't break I think with this one it might have a chance so I think this may be the one for me to see how your test goes and then I might pull the trigger finally
Yes I agree I feel the rtr is a good rc for most ppl who won’t send them off a mountain the ExB I hope will hold up as it will add up quickly to a $1300.00 rc when built 💯💯🚀🚀🚀
Honestly i still think the tried and true xmaxx is still king of 1/5 scale i literally bent my exb kraton chasis on small kiddy jumps its crazy and my xmaxx is all plastic and its over. Year old never changed anything!
The 6 s platform great the 8s is way to stable in the air for me if I where racing on a track the Kraton 8s is perfect but I love the control of the shorter wheel base like the xmaxx and outcast 8s 👍👍🔥🔥
@@earlmoorhead5555 I was like looking for something me and the kids could race on grass. We got a Big Rock and Losi DB Pro but the 1/10 scale still struggle on grass even with 3S. What do you think is better for racing on grass, the 6S-8S Arrma Outcast or Kraton. I’ve heard the 8S versions are pretty heavy compared to 6S...so I’m wondering which versions preform better, power to weight. Another option we considered was a Tekno ET48 2.0 with Backflip 6S wheels/tires, but I’m not sure if that has enough ground clearance for mostly racing on grass.
Superior product compared to Xmaxx! Traxxas needs to update everything. Arma killing the game. I wish they would do more EXBs rollers. So much customization you can do. And hear people say there’s no aftermarket ! Is now
