Xmaxx is just a better overall basher. Yes the outcast steers better, but i like the clumsiness of the xmaxx and using driving skill. Easier to work on. Cheaper. And less time on the bench, more time bashing. $Teel City Pittsburgh in here!
Just too much weight with the mostly metal 1/5th scale rc's. Xmaxx (stock) is just so much lighter its not even comparable. If I could afford one id get an Xmaxx all day long over all the other 1/5th scale rc's.
I agree having the XRT, Xmaxx, Outcast and Kraton The Xmaxx is what you want to bash for big air I dont jump that high 6 to 10 feet at most and every time I bend at least 1 axle on the Arrma I have not broken anything on the Traxxas. The Outcast is a beast so much power and wheelies for days so does the Kraton and it does seem to break less but I really dont like jumping them. Arrma needs a huge weight reduction on the 8s line. On the ground full speed the weight does help keep them planted definitely a lot of fun that way.
Love my Xmaxx and XRT. Don’t have the 8s arrmas platform but the 6s is good but I don’t think I would like to spend that much to fix them every time you go out. Good stuff Earl. Keep the hobby going bro.
I'm taking the X-Maxx out for a bash this weekend. Feeling like I might just take the Kraton out for a rip also. 8:00 this is why the Kraton stays under the bed !
I have all 3 kraton EXB , outcast EXB and xmaxx Kraton ( castle 800 kv xlx2 ) outcast & xmaxx ( hobbeywing 1100 kv & max 5 ) All 3 are modded all are great trucks and all break from time to time. That’s the price u pay for 1/5 scales . Wouldn’t have it ant other way
I had an XMaxx and Kraton 8s EXB RTR and of the two the XMaxx went home broken every time we went out. I’ve had a couple breaks in the Kraton but two were my fault (caught a pole at speed when I shifted my attention to see what my son was doing, and a broken cvd pin from a seized bearing that I had not properly lubed/maintained). Every time I took the XMaxx out I was replacing a control arm. As far as breaks with the K8 I broke a bell crank, a front bulk head got ripped off, and a couple broken brace ends broke. I got so frustrated with my XMaxx I just sold it. Now, that I think of it when I first got my XMaxx I broke the lower control arm after like 5 minutes on the first bash. lol. I literally had a bag of spare control arms with me any time I took the XMaxx out. Control arms, steering links, hubs, steering blocks and casters. I agree with the XMaxx parts being far cheaper. I also like that you can buy control arms independently as with the Arrma’s it’s pairs.
Yesssss. Just got a pretty good deal on a outcast 8s. It has magmas on it. It’s a heavy son of a bitch lol. Haven’t broken anything yet other than it lost drive to the back tires today. Center diff sounds rough.
Ever tried the Losi DBXL-E? I once owned one and I might want to get another one. Running the Baja 5B SBK Flux at the moment, it is a crazy tough machine with it's 2WD simplicity.
5B Flux is art in motion. I have mine built out but only run it in the grass. I got the Outcast 8S for the rough stuff though I'm not jumping it as big as Earl. I like the DBXL- E but I figure between the O8S and 5B I have the use cases covered, and somewhat concerned about the durability of the DBXL-E.
@@barbedwirerat661 Yeah I love the driving characteristics of the 5B the most. It is so much fun at the beach with sand paddles as well! Thinking it over again and watching Earls videos on the DBXL-E made me realize why I sold it. It was pretty durable, I bashed it in skateparks without bad breakage, but the chassis and all drivetrains were bent.
I honestly don’t know how you did that. I had a K8 EXB, with a max4 and 800kv geared 30/39 on 12S and a reefs beast 2000, and beat the shit out of that thing, and never had an issue.
I know you can’t jump 20 to 40 feet without the RCs breaking. I have a 6s Arrma truck. I run it and it breaks. I see some new Arrma 6s models are out. So I set back and keep up with the reviews. No Thanks You’re Welcome
Are you coming to Armageddon Earl? Come break all your Arrma’s with us? They say to only bring Arrma’s… lol, yeah right… that’s two days of bashing and I only have three arrma’s left that I didn’t sell… I’m bringing other vehicles for when I break my Arrma’s I’ll still get my money’s worth of bashing!!
@@earlmoorhead5555 no, it’s in Florida at Cleetus McFarland’s race track (Desoto county speedway) going to be a bunch of you RU-vid influencers there brother🤙🏻… look up the events they’re having… long jump, high jump, tug o war, last man standing… it’s going to be awesome
I have an x maxx broke the spur writhing first 5 mins of running then the esc. Got an arrma outcast 8s exb and never looked back this guy always hates his arrma rigs lol traxxas fan
I think both are expensive 2 bash xmaxx has trash gears, crappy servo, and just plain boring 2 drive in stock form. Xmaxx hop up are inevitable. Outcast 8s rtr is exciting out the box handles better but downfall it's cost so much 2 repair. It's a toss up which 1 is better.
Seems to be this truck was intended for the sort of thing you are using it for, though your experience with it seems to indicate otherwise. Maybe a fresh start with a new V2 might have been the way to go but now you have a lot into getting this one running again. Perhaps just more time behind the controls getting used to it since it has been awhile since you have run it...but still would hope for more resilience out of this RC since it is supposed to be stunt truck.
Is armma going downhill? Have they fell over the horizon? Traxxas parts are way cheaper despite not having the best selection of cars. I'm tempted to buy a traxxas these days 👍
Been watching alot of your vids and I think the xmaxx is the stronger outta the bunch I'm gonna pull the pin and get one soon I was gonna get that new red cat vigilante but have been seeing alot of gears stripping on it in videos but ya definitely a xmaxx fan now...
