Definitely agree, picked my Vorteks up on sale for $279 from Arrma and am amazed at the value at that price/ picked up more aggressive tires for using on dirt and grass / absolute wheelie monster and a blast to jump and bash with.

Right now its $329. And worth it at that price imo

The vortex is higher for 1 main reason: DX3 transmitter, and AVC receiver. The stock SLT3 is $70 online, the DX3 is $99...Not hard to sort this out people

Great vid! I wanted to see these compared. I have the Helion Avenge, same design as rival and i really liked the power n potential of Vortex. I opted to put some more power in the Avenge for know. Props on the honest review. 👍

Great vid. Unfortunately not all batteries are created equal. There are plenty of other you tubers getting 60 mph. 100% agree with you on the best looking. Luckily I got the Vorteks for $359 US. Granite BLX is almost the same @ $350. At $319 vs $350 would you chose the MT10 over the Granite BLX?

I have 3s vorteks but looking at 6s notorious and wonder if there's a difference or benefit of using 1 (6s) battery over (2) 3s batteries? Great video

Great comparison with the MT10 plus honourable mentions for the Granite. As Ricky knows, I have very mixed feelings about our Vorteks (compared to our Big Rock). Love the looks. Less keen on the rest. Ultimately, buy the Vorteks understanding that its first a "speed truggy" and second, an "off road and jumping "basher" and you wont be disappointed. Buy it expecting it to do ALL the things your Granite, Big Rock (or MT10) can do and you'll be unhappy. It has a higher top speed on the flat than the Granite or BR but a lower top speed off road because it's lower and therefore drags more. It has worse run time than the Granite or BR because the Spektrum firma100 has an LVC set high at 3.8 voltz (and is very sensitive to LVC-induced voltage sag when runnig on grass) AND because the 18T stock pinion is much more power hungry than the smaller pinion in the Granite or BR. It's decent at jumping but less good than the Granite or BR because there's much less suspension travel. It's better at resisting traction rolls than the Granite or Big Rock because its lower. You cant use the bigger tyres from the Granite or Big Rock (let alone Badlands) on the Vorteks because theyll rub the body, so if you do want to get better ground clearance (and better air control) you'll need to widen the track using the parts off a Big Rock or Typhon. Because the shocks are "truggy style" and short, you are limited on upgrade choices compared to the other Arrma 3S models. So, buy the Vorteks with your eyes open and you're bound to love it. But Ive poured a chunk of extra money and time into ours to make it as good off road as a Big Rock which has changed the price gap by something like £150 for an AVC function that is extremely erratic and for Smart battery technology I dont use. It's certainly prettty but in the same position again, Id get an MT10 with its lights, its centre diff, its sway bars and its amazing value.

If you didn't let the battery warm up before the speed run you will not get top speed. Nice video 📹👍👌

I have Typhon, Big Rock and Vorteks. Vorteks is by far more fun, easy to control and fast.

Does the the rival mt10 also have plastic diffs?

I love the new truck, I hope to one day be able to afford one, with a baby on the way though i dont think it will be any time soon

After owning my vorteks for a whole summer if say no. This car spends more time waiting for warranty parts or repairs than it spends driving. Breaks super easily and the electronics that are included (servo, motor, esc, cooling fans) are all low end sure-to-fail crap. And while you could upgrade the heck out of it I just don't find it worth it. The performance makes it difficult to keep on 4 wheels off even a small bump. Haven't had a single issue running my Kraton 6s for the exact same period of time and driving style.

Can you use a ec5 to deans plug adapter to run it on a 7.4v 6000mah battery? Thinking of getting one but don't want to buy anymore batteries as I have enough lol

in my honest and bashed out opinion, It's worth the $369.99 USD that i paid.

I like the vorteks. When I stated to look into this truck I was looking at the vorteks and the traxxas vlx rustler which is more expensive and in my opinion less good features. Would like your opinion on that truck compared to the vorteks

Rc toy prices in general are rising

I wish I could be one of the winner's because it's hard to get certain things shipped out to the little island of Guam.

Their are a few that got 59 - 61mph on stock Vorteks with speed pinion fitted, check out Tomley Rc got 61mph. Main reason for the higher price on the Vorteks ovethe other 3s Arrma's is the more expensive DX3 radio, with the Smart battery function & the Giro or AVS. Having said that if you are not using the expensive Spektrum Smart lipo's then the Smart battery function on the TX is pretty useless to have. I think most would prefer for it to come with the old SLT3 radio & pay the lower price of the other 3s line of trucks. If someone then wanted a Giro change out the SLT3 radio cheaply to the excellent Dumbo radio with a Giro for under £30.

i have seen videos of people like yourself reviewing the arrma vorteks and getting speeds of 61mph not just one video a few showing the speed of 60+ there is alotr of factors to consider not everything is equal you can have 5 of the same motors and get 5 different results and there is things like how warm was the battery as a cold battery will drop the results speed also how tight or loose was the wheels how tight was the pinnion gear on the spur all these things should be taken into concideration this is the first video of the arrma i have seen showing the speed lower than advertised and i have watched alot of videos about this car as i am concidering buying one for bashing

Got a used one with a bad gearbox/slipper. Totally rebuilt it twice now...hate this pos. Freaking motor bearings went out ffs! No tread wear at all yet, it hasn't been drove even by the first owner. Just breaks. I haven't even jumped it yet! All street driving.

Traxxas Rustler VXL 3s cost $425 and it doesn't even come with a heatsink and fan

Brought two don't like them either does missus have sold one already 2nd is ready to be sold . Prefer team rival anyday bashed it silly only upgraded servo would take it over vortex anytime.

In my experience this is the worst Arrma in the 3s range! We have 2 and nothing but problems...both had motors repaired under warranty (faulty bearings), new servo's (juddering problems), multiple spur gears stripped , weak front A-arms (now RPM).... If you want an Arrma 3s simply buy a Granite or Big Rock instead and use the money saving to buy another battery. If your on a budget then pickup a Rival MT10.

You used 1 battery? Jesus I am not sticking up for Arrma I am just calling out out your testing. 1 battery really?

Are you supposed to be an expert? You should learn how to test something before you jump to conclusions. Your car at your location using your day couldn't reach 60 mph. That's all you know. 😣. You have a test sample of one, your results don't count. You can't see 4 mph variation depending on surface or battery temp or maybe your radio only sends 95% speed instead of 100%. Don't present your experience as fact. Talk about opening yourself up to being sued.

Traxxas rustler 4wd is absolutely a better choice, more versatile, more power, easier to get parts. I’ve been into RC FOR 19 years and work on these trucks….Arrma time and time agin is a let down!!! Ive had way better luck and results AND customer service with traxxas then any other
