Trying out Hot Racing diff locker.. pretty simple to install. Went this route before I buy the upgrade diffs again and modify my diff housing on my typhons. I originally bought the upgraded diff and they didn't fit well without modifying the diff housing, so I'm trying the diff locker...
Lets see how long I like the way it handles.
After the test run, the spinning out was not intentional.. the front diff is still stock.. I will look into getting the upgraded diff to solve that problem..
You gota baby the throttle and ease in to it if you want to go straight and fast, otherwise it will spin lmao. Still fun to run though.. i enjoy it..

Hey brother, today I went out to speed run and race around large park parking lot… thanks to that sloppy steering in the granite grom, I was 3s 3800kv 2838 stock pinion and speed ran 40 mph straight into thick cement corner curb… because torque and loose steering is a no go with grom at 40mph. Anyhow the grom literally bounced off curve hundred feet in air away from impact area, body got ruffled up, steering even more loose, one shock pin bent and not fully extending but all still useable and driveable if you can over correct vehicle at 40mph. It was fun and hilarious!!!! Also drove my granite typhon with 2s and 3s and managed not to crash and it has 4000+ kv 2440 motor and flies on 3s.. I use stock tires for now and they grip.. also drove my mini t brushless but limited to 2s, need larger pinions for speed….

nice man.. 40mph is plenty fast for these lil guys, pretty cheap to fix if you bang them up, only thing is getting the replacement parts.. Im on a hunt for the upgrade diffs so hopefully i can grab a few soon. thanks for watching my vids man.. at 3k im doing a give-a-way.. just to say thanks for all the folks tuning in.. stay tuned....

A locked differential is good for drag racing i wish my grom was more tunable the suspension is fixed can't adjust shock angles or camber I hope arrma fixes that soon 😮😁

Totally agree.. the diff situation sux.. turnbuckles and shock angles would have been nice for sure. Thats where team associated 14b buggy wins. 🤦🏾 but they cost more, so …. 🤷🏾‍♂️..idk… groms are fun nonetheless. Waiting on the nascar version now..

Is there a metal gear in the red square box?? My typhon grom differential gear is damaged and can't work. If the red box is a differential, it's too expensive.. Original Arrma products are not available anywhere.... :( I'm always looking at your Granite and typhon grom posts. So good video

Good question.. inside its a square peg that the diff cups bolt on to, thats it. No gears. The drivetrain move as one unit now. Its good for going fast in a straight line. But you can still bash with it. You will do more double wheel spinning of course but its still hella fun to run and you dont have to worry about chewed up plastic gears. Whenever the upgraded diffs become available, its better to get them for off road bashing than this diff locker. But this is great too. I have put them both in the front and rear now. So it drives very straight when it hit the throttle

Thanks for watching, the bumper came from my granite grom. You can buy it from horizonhobby or ebay. And the GPM aluminum parts i got from ebay as well. Search granite grom gpm billet upgrades. They should pop right up. 👍

Tried bro, i couldnt get the ones i had to fit in my typhons so i put them in my granite. Weird .. i think my typhons may have a defect in the diff housing that prevents me from using the upgraded diffs without modifying the housing. But i do need the diff in the front. May have to modify it.
