Q&A: Thea mentioned how keeping the secret is for William's protection. How is telling Felicity gonna make a difference? How is telling Felicity going to endager the child at all? She can keep a secret. The worst Felicity can do to that child is run him over with her wheelchair or give him food poisoning. Also they just made Thea look so stupid in that entire conversation. Didn't she cry the entire season 2 about how everyone was keeping secrets from her and how they didn't protect her? Anyways, my point is Felicity is supposed to become Oliver's wife and has every right to know.
+Cory Weston Well she's kept Oliver's secret, Sara's secret, and the stuff Oliver/Diggle have shared with her the last 4 years a secret. I think she's just fine at keeping secrets. What is she going to tell? Go run to Samantha and say "Yo Oliver told me that William is his son HA". She wouldn't do that, she isn't a bitch. She also doesn't said that she doesn't mind that he has a kid but that he lied to her about it.
I was pretty annoyed that Lance was keeping secrets from Donna the entire episode since it's pretty much been shown several times in this show that secrets always end badly, but when they rationalized it by explaining how Lance would also have to admit that he was working with the people that paralyzed her daughter, I really liked it. Probably one of the better reasons to keep a secret in the show so far, but regardless, it's nice that it's been resolved.
Q&A: Don't you think that Thea's speech about his son was out of character? She was on the other end of a similar lie (S 02, the Malcolm thing) and she knows how it feels. For me, this whole scene was like the writers were trying to convince everyone that the Baby Mama storylinie doesn't suck. Besides, Malcolm and Thea know about William. So why Oliver still thinks it's alright to lie? Why Thea supports it? It's like a soap opera... Also, if Felicity knew about William she would probably keep an eye on him and she would know that he was kidnapped... I mean, Oliver should know by now that all of his secrets/lies come out eventually, so what's the point of the lie (besides obvious break-up, of course)?
QNA: I think Merlyn didn't tell Darhk about Oliver being Green Arrow because that would increase the chances of Dark hurting Thea as Speedy. Merlyn probably told Darhk that Thea is his daughter to keep her safe, but if Darhk finds out she's Speedy he may target her regardless.
Oliver is not a liar for not telling Felicity about William. However he would be a liar if he told Felicity, because that would mean he broke his promise to Samantha, the mother of his child.
Q&A: 4x14 drinking game: anytime someone says the word secret. What's the DIFFERENCE b/n Thea & Felicity knowing? bc Thea found out, so according to Samantha, Oliver can't see Will anymore? If F knew, she'd protect William better like by WIPING THE DIGITAL TRAIL THEA FOLLOWED IN A SECOND. CLEARLY, Will's safer if the team knows, so why does Oliver/Thea think different? do you guys agree w/ Thea's BS? Doesn't make sense.
Q&A: Are you guys really on Oliver/Thea's side with the lie to Felicity? 1) Oliver plans to marry her, how could he possibily do that whilst lying to her? Felicity is big on trust and always tells him the truth. Remember when she found out about Thea being Malcom's daughter and told him despite being threatened by Moira? She also told him straight away when she found the engagement ring. Also one day when they're married does he plan to introduce William to Felicity and be like "hey this is your step son". Felicity deserves better than that. 2) Oliver mentioned in 4x12 that he's being going back and forth to central city. That's kind of horrible especially whilst Felicity has been going through her physical and emotional trauma. 3) Do we really have to listen to what Thea says? I mean she spent the entire season 2 crying about everyone keeping secrets from her and how they don't protect her. Didn't she leave Starling City because Roy and Oliver were lying to her?
What's up with Smoak women and the damn truth? Oh my god... I'm with Oliver. To get to know his son, he has to respect the baby mother's request in limiting the people who knows. Especially since he's running for mayor and he's green arrow. Enemies upon enemies. No offense, I know how this series keep on pushing how Felicity is a STRONG women and all, but she will be the first to break with important information. She can't even keep a simple secret. There's keeping secrets, then there's lying. And I hate how these Smoak women can't tell the difference.
I was certain they were going to out Oliver having a son at the debate, and there'd be a bunch of drama around that right now. I really didn't expect Darhk to basically kidnap William. God damn man I love this show.
Q&A Do you think Thea's reaction from Oliver's lie was a little OOC considering how she wouldn't even talk to her family for like a month back in s2 when they kept Malcolm being her father a secret, for her safety? Idk why it just didn't make sense to me from that perspective.
+Hannah M Exactly. At this point, considering Malcolm - the sickest SOB - knows about William and threatened him in front of Oliver, it made no sense for him not to tell Felicity, when Oliver already knows that what he's doing isn't right. That speech, also coming from Thea who blamed her family for being lied to for 2 seasons for her protection, looked good on the surface but it's like the writers forgot Thea was the one giving the speech. He had a choice between lying to a stranger and lying to Felicity, who keeps secrets for a living. If the safety of her fiancé's child is at stake, she would die before spilling the beans to a supervillain à la Malcolm.
+Hannah M Back then she was nearly a drug addict, and a real troublemaker. Now she's risking her life to save others. People change, it's called character progression. She's also the youngest one there and she's easily affected by the things that happen to her or the people she loves.
+jim halpert Once again, the general idea not to expose william to the public is there but we also get the underlining message that 1) felicity knowing would put him even more in danger when malcolm already knows and 2) lying to a woman he barely knows is more important than lying to a woman he plans to marry. No matter how hard you twist it, it's not ok. Thea is either still influenceable and her advice is crao or she's grown and she can see right or wrong from everyone's perspective, not just the mother's. Thea growing doesn't mean she should be vouching for lying but that's just me.
+Cory Weston And lying to Felicity about William has nothing to do with keeping his son safe. Do you really think that Felicity would revealed secret like this? She's in this business since season 1. Plus, if she knew about William she would probably already informed them that he was kidnapped... she would keep an eye on William or wipe him and Samantha from the Internet or whatever, to make sure that no villain will find them.
Q&A: Don't you think that what Thea said was very hypocritical? She hated when Oliver and Moira and Roy lied to her (she hated it SO much, whole season 2 was about her being mad that people lie to her) and now she thinks it's okay to lie to Felicity? How would Felicity knowing endanger Oliver's son (or Oliver's relationship with him)? It's not like Felicity would tell.. She's the most trustworthy person, keeping secrets since the beginning.. Also, Oliver agrees that he needs to keep his son safe, so he won't tell Felicity, but he knows that Malcolm Merlyn (psychopathic villain who promised him a revenge) knows about his son and he does nothing about it? This storyline just doesn't make sense at all. Anyway, enjoyed your video, as usual..
Q&A! What do you think Oliver will do if Samantha or William is killed? Would he instantly know it was Malcolm due to him and Thea being the only people that know about them? Please answer.
Q&A What if Malcolm has a secret plan to get close to Darhk, and know what his up to from the inside? And he gave to Darhk William's name, because he needed to get his trust (later he's gonna help to save the boy somehow). Maybe Malcolm doesn't want to reveal that Oliver is the Green Arrow, because he's going to tell him how to stop Darhk. It doesn't seem to me that Malcolm is really cooperating with HIVE, he may be mad at Oliver, but he wouldn't send his daughter to death, I think.
I know you are bored by the flashback (like most of us) but I think that we forget that all that shit happened to Oliver and made him who is(was in season 1) He was only a rich playboy who didn't care about anything except himself. He grows so mcuh from who is was. He saw people he loves die one by one, starting in his father in front of him (and he had to stay in that boat with his body for how many days before being on the island?), he was torture, he's been betrayed, saved. Sometimes both. He loved, he lost. He was forced to kill and torture. In the flashback of this season, we can see him loosing his humanity. He has good attention but the line between what's good and what's wrong is getting blurred. Yes, he may survive, but he has been damaged.
+Brandon Collins I meant he is gonna become Mr Terrific! Curtis is based on an actual DC comicbook hero ! And his abilities are technologic based. That is why they made him as a genius creating stuff! I don't think he'll be the new green arrow, cause if you look at his powers he has some awesome abilities. Google Mr Terrific and you'll see! Or check him here: www.google.nl/search?q=Mr+Terrific&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiIzr66xoXLAhWBVRQKHZJ1ADgQ_AUIBygB&biw=1366&bih=648
That is exactly how you are supposed to hold a knife to fight. But you don't stab at them with it , you just pretend it's part of your fist and swing and fight just like you would otherwise. Unless a clear shot comes open.
Q&A: I have a crazy/dumb theory for how Diggle can be Green Lantern - He was adopted as an infant, his surname was changed from John Stewart to John Diggle and his adopted parents kept this a secret from him and his brother. p.s. My chips are on #TeamEric for winning the slapbet (sorry Arron).
q&a Merlyn is likely playing the long game and wouldn't have told Darhk about Oliver being the Green Arrow, for one thing, it would put Thea at risk and knowing Malcolm he's likely going to do a long Con and take HIVE away from Darhk so keeping that secret might help him out later. Not sure about Ryan Robbins, aka Conklin, being upset at losing this job as he's a pretty busy actor with two projects filming right now, Given how brief appeared in this episode I would assume he stopped by to film his scenes and run back to his other gig. If he looked upset it could just be missing out on his lunch break or something.
DicksAreDeliciousWhenCooked: So what do you guys think about Darhk Vader's new ability? I can just imagine Darhk in his undies, layed out on his couch watching the debate on tv being like: "You know what, it probably has been 2 weeks..." Olliver: "And if I become mayor of this city, I will fully allow the usage of marijuaaAURHGGHRRHUA-*dead*." *camera zooming on Darhk smiling in his undies while Arrow theme plays*
I saw James "Bam Bam" Bamford who is the stunt co-ordinator on arrow and director of this episode and Ryan Robbins at a Stargate convention, and Ryan Robbins can actually fight so i don't why they used a stunt double.
Q&A Did you guys give any thought to the fact that it's Laurel in the grave? If they want this grave to be a successful plot device as they've been teasing this whole season, they'd use the person least expected. From my point of view, all signs point to her being in that coffin.
Q&A: Don't you think that "he" who needs to be killed by Oliver, is Malcolm? Oliver said that his responsibility is to kill "him", and since Oliver had a chance to kill Malcolm in #413 and he spared his life, it's his responsibility to do it now.
Q&A: In the graveyard scene from a few episodes ago Felicity said "you have to kill the son of a bitch". She is most likely referring to Darhk, but if she was talking about someone else, who do you think it could be? Given that we know nothing about Damien's plan other than it probably involves mysticism and now somehow William, Oliver might as well have to kill his son in a possessed-demonic-child sort of way. I know it makes no sense at all, but hey, I would pay to see an epic battle between Green Arrow and a child possessed by a corn demon or something.
Q&A: If you would get superpowers and fight against villians, would you tell your friends? because, my point is this: Why is the one thing that superhero storys constantly teach us is "lying to protect the people around you does not work. NEVER." and oliver never learns this? after all these lies that backfired in the past. Wouldn't it be nice to have other plot devices than this for a change? gnaaah! so if you are suddenly a superhero tell the people you love, because this way at least they can prepare themselves!
Q&A: We are still Three Months away from the grave. I doubt they will wait three months to resolve this William story thread. THE DIGGLE THEORY STILL LIVES!
+Nick Reed I don't think we are 3 months away. The neighbor from Ivy Town said she has been waiting for 5 months for the engagement. So I think we are 1 (or so) month away. I think it could be episode 18.
Q&A: I know that they have already done something similar to this, but what if Oliver finds out that's Dark has William and goes with the crew to try and get William back but it somehow backfires and Oliver gets caught and made to watch his son get killed right in front of his very eyes but then unexpectedly Diggle jumps in front of the bullet or whatever taking his own life for Oliver's sons, leaving a scene similar to when Tommy died. Lmao, just a thought I don't know xD.
Samantha can't be the one in the grave because Felicity was way too upset when Oliver came back into the car. Remember her saying "you have to kill this son of a bitch". The one in the grave was closer to her, I'm pretty sure it's her mother.
QnA- why did Baron Reiter not get suspicious that he left Oliver in handcuffs and when he came back he was out of the handcuffs and Conklin was dead? Also do you think Samantha will rethink no letting Oliver telling anyone about William because of Damian?
QnA : Do you guys think that Malcolm didn't tell Darkh about Oliver being the Arrow because it would also paint a target on Thea's back because at the holiday party Darkh did look like he suspected her?
Q&A: Actually, there supposed to be two checks. First million for leaving the town and not telling Oliver, and the second million after she is in another city. I don't know if the writers forgot about that, but there is possibility that Samantha cashed one of those millions.
I can understand where you're coming from Eric, having made all those movies with the crew and spending a lot of time on choreography with Shane. But imo the best ways for effective knife fighting is quite debatable, and so is the advantage of having more range when you hold the blade up. Having medium to long reach with a weapon doesn't always have to be a good thing. It depends on the situation; the skills of the user, the way of movements and the opponent/surroundings. As a knife and stick fighter myself (Kali, Escrima and Silat) I'm also use to holding a knife the 'regular way', however, when I hold it blade downwards I do so deliberately to grab/lock incoming attacks of the arms more easily (I trap it between my own wrist and the knife I'm holding, and often continue flaying/cutting the limbs or torso from there). Also because having the blade pointed downwards can require a certain way of movement that differs from the knife pointed upwards, a skilled enough knife fighter could make it look like he isn't holding a knife at all, deceiving the opponent with arm movements in which he/she can't visually identify the knife's danger zone clearly, feeling the cuts/stabs later. Btw I for one tend to 'flow' more naturally (follow the knife's optimal trajectories) when holding the knife downwards as well.
Q&A: Last q+a someone asked your thoughts re: seeing Curtis as Mr. Terrific THIS season... THEN during the 4x14 ep reaction video you guys didn't even mention the fact that, after Curtis gifted Felicity with the Implantable Chip which could make her walk again, Oliver call him "Terrific". • DISCUS... PS: I still can't believe Aaron had NO reaction to the fact that our girl, HotWheels - I mean, OverWatch - could walk again!! Peace!😎
Q&A FirstI think Malcom hasn't told Damien about Oliver being the Green Arrow because it won't be long before Damien figures out Thea's role on Team. Second do you think Malcom's alliance with Damien is simply for revenge or do you think he's trying to put himself in a position of power once again. Also do you think Damien knows Malcom was Ra's and that the League has been disbanded?
Q&A Dear Mr. and Mr. Blind Wave, what if Malcolm Merlin is secretly working with Oliver, just like in the previous season? Seeing as to how Captain Lance's cover has been foiled, Team Arrow needs another inside man. Also, did you guys notice the Canadian Tire store front when Thea drove out of Diggle's van? I'm aware that the show is primarily filmed in Vancouver, but are there Canadian Tires in the US?
QNA: Ok in regards with the debay between Darhk know or not the Oliver and Arrow are the same person. I think they are beginning figure it out since in the beginning of the debay Oliver told Darhk's wife something about the house falling and then trying to correct himself. I didn't see this in your reactions so I decided to point it out.
Q&A: How much of a miracle-maker is Curtis? How long do you think he will last, and what will the writers to with him in the future? Please expand into the crops market. Blind Wave; Glutenfree. Hello from the Goose.
Rich people usually have to keep more meticulous records of their finances. So there would have been a record of such a large check being written. Imagine a twenty-something year woman attempting to cash such a large check. Oliver's mother would have had to notify someone on her financial team that the check was about to be cashed and it was legitimate.
Q&A : It is actually my thoughts about Thea in this episode. I think that she is hypocrite. All season 1, 2 and half season 3 she hates Oliver and Moira for they lies. And now she give Oliver stupid advice about not telling Felicity truth. I agree that in Olivers life Williams will not be save but hellooo...Barry knows, Malcolm (enemy) and Thea soo why not Felicity??? cheap writting... but we need some Tv drama even if that delete previous character development... great action episode and awsome DonnaSmoak interaction, also some Oliver/Lance scene and thank you Curtis...you are TERRIFIC :D
+WerOTA I agree ! Thea is the last person i expected to hear condone Oliver's lying ! The writers are sacrificing the characters' integrity for cheap drama :/
+S1m0nV1v31r0s maybe but i don't see this that way... ok she want support her brother but that scene was only for this "(in future episode all viewers) poor Oliver, that lie was good decision, Felicity is stupid, she don't understand him, it is all her fould, she shouldn't be mad at him etc etc " i like Thea that is why that scene pissed me sooo much...
+S1m0nV1v31r0s it is a good idea to not expose his son to the public for his safety, but lying to felicity, who happens to know everything about their lives and the danger surrounding it (even gained a wheelchair along the way), that's far-stretched.
WerOTA okay looking at the scene and why this scene exists you're probably right. I was just trying to understand Thea's (The character) thinking, thats all
Q&A: What do you think about Malcolm Merlyn dying by the end of this season? He's seemingly gone back to being 100% villain. He could end up being killed by Darhk, or maybe just dying in the fallout of an episode's events
I feel you're pain Eric. I've been bored of the flashbacks since season 1. I roll my eyes every time I hear that stupid "woosh" sound for a visual clue to say let's take another trip back down memory lane.
I absolutely do not like Arrow's flashbacks. Never have. It's the weakest part of the story for me and the most boring especially last season and this season. I get that the writers are telling Ollie's origin story concurrently with his present day story but it just doesn't work for me. It'd be one thing if they did it once or twice every few episodes but 5-6 times every episode? The flashbacks are what keep me from loving the show. And a few other things. I like Arrow alot and I enjoy watching every Wednesday night and the cast and crew work hard and I appreciate all that they do but I'll never love this show like I love The Flash.
#QnA With Merlin now visibly there in the lair of Darhk, what do you guys think: has Merlin been working with Darhk the entire time or just now after that Oliver unhanded him? And if so what do you think is Merlin's endgame?
Q+A: We talked at the beginning of season 4 when we were speculating about who was Felicity's father that we couldn't picture Damien Darkh with Felicity's mum, does the Blind Wave crew feel the same about the Calculator?
Q n A : Do you think Darhk would become like a mentor to William and teach him his mystic powers to make him go agasint oliver. Finally, please start SUITS or if u have react to it please.
Q&A I doubt that Ryan Robbins (Conklin) would be the type of guy that would deliberately act not as good as normal because he's being killed off... Specially when being directed by BamBam (who was the stunt head on Stargate Atlantis which Robbins appeared in .... Alongside Rachel Luttrell, aka nail gun lady). Also, surprised you guys didn't recognise Daniel Cudemore.... Aka Colossus from X-men and the Master Chief from the Halo show Forward into Dawn)... Like you guys, I'm loving watching BamBam's shows, not too bothered with stunt dude issue... Just need to see more of BamBam's directorial style on the show.
Q&A. Sort of a theory/question for you. I'm starting to believe Eric may be right about Samantha being in the grave, I don't think Arrow will put a child in the grave because that's messed up. However, we may have been short sighed, what is Oliver's speech at the grave was not meant for Darhk, but for Malcom Merlyn? He did threaten Oliver by targeting his loved one...if so, what do you think about Oliver vs Merlyn Season 5? Is this the season Merlyn's reign of terror ends?
Q&A: Not sure if this was said or not, but now that Dig has everything he wants, do you think there's a good chance that he might be in the grave? Also will Laurel get any screen time?
Q&A as much as i want Eric to b right in such a wild theory, i think lance is in the grave. we get nothing from him for 3 episodes and then gets a hole episode they're preparing him to die. what do u guys think?
Q&A:What do you think Darhk did with Samantha? I personally think she's dead, but NOT the person in the grave. However, do you think Darhk kidnapped her as well and is in a jail cell or is he truly evil enough to kill her to send a message? Also I'm positive now that Oliver is talking about killing Merlin when he mentions I'm going to kill him at the grave scene.
DicksAreYummy Aaron-2015 do you think Oliver's fighting abilities were nerfed again in this episode? He had such a hard time taking out the demolition team member yet in last episode he took out Merlin with ease. Idk, the inconsistency is kind of bugging me.
Q&A! Maybe Oliver is just visiting his moms grave and someone is in the hospital that's why they're mad but my other theory is that digg brother kills digg but WTF
QnA: Lance and Donna are dating. Now imagine if Henry Allen starts dating Ms Lance. Then Barry, Laurel, Sara, and Felicity would all be step-siblings. Also O-H
QNA: Do you guys think Felicity will keep true to the words she said to her mom about Lance lying to protect someone close to him when she finds out about William?
+Walkingdeadfan1997 The thing is, though, if Felicity knew about William, he would be safer. She would probably keep an eye on him and knew by now that his son is kidnapped. So, I don't know how keeping secret from Felicity, ESPECIALLY after his enemy (Malcolm) finds out and threatens him, is protecting his son. This storyline is a mess. I know it will be a lesson for Oliver, character development or whatever, but it just seem to me like the writers want to do some big angst before the wedding.
DicksareYummyAaron2015: this guy should really direct every episode! Andie Diggle Digging lol I was also completely expecting Damian's wife to use the son card in the debate. Isnt weird that Damian kidnapped Oliver's son and when Anarchy did it, was completely agains it? Greetings from argentina
xxdavecz Merlin is working with him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! darhk wouldn't attack olivers son because he is a political opponents, he also crippled Felcity !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
xxdavecz maybe, its unclear i kind of get that but he is to smart to be fooled like that and i think that he wouldn't oof attack the limo just to take our a political oppeonent plus when they face off outside darhks house he diffinatly new it was oliver!!!
Am I the only one who hated (once again) Bamford as a director? The guy is a genius when it comes to stunts but with everything else? The camera angle was so off at times, weird transitions between scenes as well. I understand the camera moving along when there is action sequences but with everything else, it was a turn-off for me.
it's not right to keep things from someone who is going to be your wife or husband. Felicity had a right to be pissed. She could've been made a step mother with not even knowing if that lie kept on going until they were married.
