Arrow 7x16 "Star City 2040"Reaction/Review 

EmotionallyTalkative - Honestly, Nyssa training Mia makes sense. Nyssa has been an ally of Oliver’s for years, she’s incredibly skilled & basically a ghost, that no one knows about. Plus, Oliver was trained by both Talia and Ra’s. Also, based on how the season will end and the fact that most of the team will most likely have to go their separate ways b/c they’ll be seen as criminals and Thea not being an option, Auntie Nyssa fits in perfectly. I think Rene’s turn around made sense. He believed he was bettering things without vigilantes only to find out that working with Galaxy would end in a city destroyed and innocent ppl dead. That was never his goal so I understand him deciding to be a double agent and work with the team. I guessed that Archer was the evolution of Felicity’s home security system since they have been dedicating time to it in each episode since Oliver got home. Felicity didn’t play a part in Oliver’s “death”. When Mia asked her if Galaxy was personal because of Dad, felicity said NO it was personal because of her. It seems like in 2019 Eden Corp gets their hands on Archer and warps it into something evil. Dinah said that Galaxy was just a front for Eden Corp who in 2040 are trying to use Archer to hunt vigilantes. I have the feeling Roy was resurrected in a Lazarus pit and that’s why he had that rage blackout after the detective hit him. As for the spin-off, this episode felt like a backdoor pilot. One of the most successful aspects of Arrow is OTA which they have recreated in Mia, William and Connor so if they decide to do another show it would likely be about them with the occasional appearance of Roy, Felicity, Dig, etc. The actress who plays Mia is a bankable star because she was the lead of her own series for 3yrs.

Wow!! Lol You've definitely given me a lot to consider and think about. I will say though that as far as Rene changing within the episode, I agree with what you said my only problem with it that it came out of no where. 2040 Rene seemed very OK with the "status quo" during all the flash forwards leading up to this episode and then One conversation with his daughter who has been om the opposite side, changed him that quick. I'm nit picking but it just stuck out to me.
