And even if they might not be prem level (best league in the world), there's no shame in ONLY being good enough to play in the 3rd or 4th best league (Serie A & Bundesliga) on earth. Sell them for 10-20 million pounds. I would love to have more home grown players in the 1st team, though. Especially now that we have a team identity so training can be really focused on developing the types of players we want at each position.
Sousa, Patino, Norton Cuffy, Nwaneri , Duberry (and Azeez maybe a lesser extent) all so exciting. Love seeing academy players making it into the first team.. would be awesome if they make it and can add that to Saka ESR and Eddie and have that many in the first team. Looks to me like Patino will definitely make it, prob Sousa too...Nwaneri still so young but looks amazing, and Cuffy is excellent but depends if he can do inverted role otherwise he will make a great RB for someone. Even if just a couple of those make it (Patino and Sousa my best guess, if we're talking regular starters) we could feasibly have 4 or 5 out of 11 starters being academy players .. how awesome is that?
Number 7 for Arsenal is a beast. Damn his skills with the ball is just pure class. Just work a little bit on looking for his mates in better position and i'm sure this guy can be a world star one day. And btw, that goal winning assist was freaking amazing.
Exactly. But he needs a coach to turn him to a beast. He mostly not aware of his surroundings. If he had, he would created many open chances for others to score.
That run from skelly for the opening goal was massive, a true jewel for the 6 role en hope they keep developing him as a no6 coz we cud do with one in the near future
I think Patino is clearly the next one from the academy tbf.. he is older & he is playing great on loan.. debate if he is 8 or 6 but he is playing real deep for Blackpool and looks good doing it.. we also heavily linked with Declan Rice who is one of the best no6 in the entire league and supposedly agreed terms already and is a big fan of Arteta, plus he only has a year left so fee shouldn't be an issue this time. So, I don't really think we need one that desperately.. nonetheless skelly looked good in there and its always good to have more coming through. There is Azeez as well who I haven't been following so much this last year or so but I imagine he is ahead of Skelly as well? He also may be an 8, im not sure..
@@sco9616 we have an aging midfield by the team these kids are ready partey Jorginho elneny and xhaka will all be 33-35. Even if we sign rice and caicedo.
@@leechesplays4925 I see Rice or Caicedo coming in the summer.. Xhaka getting a new deal and retiring at the club.. both Partey and Xhaka have a couple more years in them and Patino will be ready by then if not before (possibly Azeez tho im not sure how good he is looking at the moment). Rice Odegaard and Patino looks good midfield to me. Obviously other signings likely over the next few years and then maybe Nwaneri added to the mix. I also think its quite likely given the age and his attributes for the role, that Vieira is actually the successor to Xhaka in that attacking role.. I thought it when he arrived and now we are seeing he usually comes on as a sub to replace Xhaka, not Odegaard.. so I honestly think they have planned it really well.. Odegaard is young, Vieira will be phased in for Xhaka as Xhaka gets older.. Rice will come in (who can play 6 or 8) and Patino/Rice being phased in for Partey. Eventually we could see Vieira Odegaard (or ESR for either of them) Rice with Patino rotating at 6...and again no reason not to expect more signings over next 3 years to provide more competition. Vieira/ESR Odegaard and RIce is a sick midfield 3 first choice tho imo.. i see Vieira adapting to EPL and becoming a top player.
I guess passing is not in that kid's vocabulary ... somebody needs to sit him down and stress the importance of passing the ball to teammate if he's going to make it to the next level. They won that game because of the beautiful pass the leftback made in the added time. That pass was more beautiful than the goal.
Skelly is a talent, has the ability to run with the ball but keep his head up. I’ve watched him a few times now and seems to be at the heart of all that is good
Cozier Duberry is a very talented young player, but he can be too selfish in his game. He needs to learn how to be a team player if he wants to go far in this game.
Huge shoutout to Cambridge United. Not many youth teams can say they made it to the Youth Cup Quarterfinals, Beat Chelsea in the Youth Cup, play Arsenal at the Emirates, AND TAKE THE LEAD at the Emirates. Cambridge United have been absolutely phenomenal. They made everyone in Cambridge proud.
Squad isn't yet a cohesive team. Saw some incredible sparks and moves by the youngsters but you've got to ask if the forwards could do more with some passing into open spaces where there were free players on goal. Same with the defence, too many open holes and spaces for the opponents to exploits. All in all, a good game for the lads. My hope is that the team grows into a cohesive unit.
It's cause these guys don't really play that often with each other. They are kind of disjointed. As some play more U18 while the others play U21. They don't have great chemistry yet, but rely a lot on natural talent to see them through. They have been very clutch in this competition. Hopefully this is the year we win it.
As a Cambridge fan we are just glad people haven't cottoned on how good Yearn, McConnell etc are and they haven't been poached! Also respect to the 3000 odd making the trip
You're spot on. The penalty for Arsenal is a soft one. It shouldn't have stand. Cambridge are deadly in the final 3rd as well. End to end game worth watching.
@@olumideale5753 nah I was watching in the stadium they weren’t that good they relied mostly of their big men in the box other than that they had a poor final pass and shots from range not many good passes I think it was there number 10 and 20 who stood out the rest weren’t anything special
What i saw was a Cambridge team playing as a team and unlucky to be punished with a penalty which clearly was not , very poor refereeing . The Arsenal team was in essence a group of wannabe's yet to learn how to play as a team , plenty to work on but perhaps a new approach is needed to cut if the selfish attitudes in play .Unlucky Cambridge a good team performance .😮
Spot on mate , I'm biased as a Cambridge fan at the game last night but I'm actually optimistic about our future if we get some of these lads in our team in the future

why is no one talking about how many fans cambridge bought? thats a third tier side who have recently been in the 4th and 5th tier. Unreal support and for an under 18s game
It's good to see a lot of talented youngsters in the academy. They just need to learn to play better with each other. There were a lot of selfish decisions on that pitch. They'll definitely get better though.
Nwaneri is cut above all these players the boy can’t even buy a lottery ticket playing with players couple years older than him and being so composed and decisive arsenal DO NOT LET HIM GO
Dear Cozier-Duberry, Congratulations on making the Semis. However, I think it'll do your career a lot of good if/when you learn to pass to & assist your teamates. The ball is faster than you & it's not only about you but the team. Cheers
@@potentialswillrule sorry but stopped watching the game after that decision its like up in Scotland where the ugly sisters get all decisions because they are the major clubs so poor unfashionable teams like Cambridge are up against the establishment of the old school FA
Great game, well done lads. Several direct shots when someone else was in a good position to score though. Remember assist are as valuable as the goals you score.
istg im not just saying this cos he's number 7 and plays as an inverted right winger but duberry plays exactly like saka. they even have the same penalty run up.
How can the CU defender playing the ball followed by the Arsenal forward running in to him - be a penalty?? Never in million years!!! The muppet ref should follow Lee Mason - sack him and ban him for life!!
Duberry needs to learn how to pass and cross he needs to learn from Saka passing and assisting is just as important as scoring he only wants to score and not pass to his teammates who are in better position I don't like that
