I think it's about time that referee's should also be made to attend press conferences and explain their controversial decisions.this will bring more transparency to the game
Yes, like why Ødergaard wasn't given two yellow for a blatant shirt pull followed a couple of seconds later by a nasty foul. Why Xhaka wasn't booked for his assault on Bruno early on or for his taking out of Willock later on, or why Ben White wasn't even booked for his assault on JoeL, why no penalty for the shirt pull on Burn, why Arteta wasn't shown a red for his disgraceful behaviour, why .....
To be fair Newcastle respected arsenal too much and changed tactics only for Arsenal they never changed tactics for Man city or spurs. That says alot why teams fear playing arsenal and iam Newcastle Fan
It just wasn't our day. Coz the few opportunities we had (besides Eddie's, and the headers from Gabriel and Martinelli) we just didn't have the composure and quality...but that's football. These same 11 guys won for us a few days ago and in truth other than that final part of the field we were dominant against a good and in-form Newcastle team..I was always of the opinion that if we win it would be 1-0 but most likely a draw this time.
Its weird the ref gives Marton. O a yellow card and a foul against him for a shirt pull but somehow didnt give that pen.. these Refs will ruin the league for other teams when it matters
Good question. I think this is what causes the inconsistencies in football. Maybe we should borrow from field hockey for instance where if it touches your foot it's an infringement. No questions asked🤷🏾♂️
Odegaard was not at his best yesterday and that's why Arsenal couldn't win. Yesterday his decision making wasn't at the best. He needs to calm down himself and not listen to the pressure from the media. Arsenal needs him to win this league
I'd like to see you chaps in your day to day lives. I'm sure I'd learn a lot about being on top form everyday. Opening comment was fair but completely uncalled for to say our captain must go back to Real Madrid. This is the toxicity that Arsenal doesn't need. Assuming you're a Gooner, I'm tempted to ask you to find another club to support coz clearly we're not good enough for you. There's 18 others to choose from 🤷🏾♂️
Against Manchester United We scored the first goa which in my opinion would have put us in position to win, it got cancelled and months later after reviews, we were told the goal should have stood. Today We had a stonewall pen, VAR said it was no Pen, These guys are trying to screw us!! Very pissed with match officials!!!
@@MegaNjabulo that's not the point Football sometimes will favor you and sometimes it wouldn't it's not the first time seeing this making complains on social media won't change a draw into a win move on!!
Reality is Arsenal deserved two penalties. The guy whose job it is won’t ever in his life need to be held accountable. Refs are coddled like a newborn.
Somehow wrighty always get's pullied by his pundit colleagues the foul on gabriel is a clear penalty and it was scandalous becsuse VAR didn't even have a look at it.
Match fixed for a draw by officials, possibly if Newcastle could have won , just trying to keep out arsenal from getting more points that's y the poor officiating
The Murphy handball was never a pen, not a chance. The Burn shirt pull I think wasm but, if you want all the decisions right, that chance was from a free kick given for a beautiful tackle that was never a foul.
You think Alan Shearer would be laughing off at those penalties not been awarded for his Newcastle side pushing a top team like City for the league??. See how he coins Ian Wright to not be dead serious with his stance about those penalties 🙄. Arteta done absolutely nothing wrong. He was aggrieved by the Ref and has every right to vent out his frustration 😤.
Nothing wrong? He was constantly in the fourth officials face because he couldn't break Newcastle down. He was crying about ever tackle. He cried about 5 minutes added on. He cried about the possible pens (which is justified) Then when Newcastle started playing them at their own game diving he cries again. He's a 🤡
@steven west Wasn't this the same kinda Energy which got Mourinho and the likes of Conte and Klopp loved and adored by the media when all of those managers first grazed the prem ?. Oh suddenly its a problem now just because the media ain't buying into it when certain managers that don't tickle their fancy do it. But I'm sure there'll be no problem if a manager like Eddie Howe or any other British managers be getting in people's faces. Oh yeah it's passion then. Nothing wrong.
Gunners.. am here.. Newcastle last night was a hostile team. The ref.too did not help anyone.. he was mean to himself too... but our team is strong able to read the game.. yes no goal but what does it tell us.. we must sign.. we must fight..we are the target of all teams.. arteta emotions to go down.. we can smell the trophy.. am kenyan 🇰🇪
Alan shearer is not being professional in is speech towards arteta. All coaches do react same way . So Alan shearer stop being sentimental, no disrespectful
Stewart Attwell was the VAR, he screwed Arsenal again by not advising the on field ref to check the penalty when Gabriel was brought down in the box. Last season the same ref did the same when Arsenal played City, what a shame! Shame on Stewart Attwell.
World cup referees were spot on in several occasion but with premier league referees, it a different story. It makes me feel that their are teams they favor
Hypocrisy at high level complaining about Mikel Arteta and he had every right to be ferrous and referring in the UK are a joke. imagine it was Liverpool or Man utd they would give a penalty for them.
These guys are embarrassing, in a bid to talk down on the penalty shout from Gabriel, they played the wrong clip… Arsenal deserved to win, but we move.
Alan Shearer knows he’s talking rubbish. Newcastle were awful just parked the bus & broke up play with fouls. The cheating, time wasting, subs stopping throws, surrounding the referee, etc we’re really poor.
It's called tactics, I know you would rather Newcastle opened up and let arsenal just walk into their box, but you have to try and play your own game to frustrate the opposition, otherwise they would have lost 3-0, its not rocket science
As an arsenal fan I am not gonna seat here and say Newcastle were cheats etc , they had a tactic and knew if they played attacking against us they ain't gonna win , for me is that we should have enough players on the bench we could bring on to make a difference, and we did not have anyone , so yeah we have to blame ourselves, our second string of players ain't good enough, nketiah ain't good enough
This team win the league Martinelli. Jesus. Saka Mudryk. Eddie. Felix Xhaka. Odegaard Esr. Veria Partey Savic Zinc. Gabi. Siliba. White Tierney. Holding. White. Tomi Ramsdale Turner
In the last minute of the match there was a 100% penalty moment for Arsenal, because the ball hit the hands of a Newcastle player in the penalty box and then the ball turned in that direction, but the referee didn't give Arsenal that penalty, even seeing VAR the referee didn't want it. What's wrong with the referees in the EPL, are they unfair and only defend certain teams? if MU or Liverpool, surely this referee will give a penalty to MU or Liverpool
Was fired at him at murphy did all that was humanly possible to get out the way, his arm was also very tucked in. Arsenal had 97 mins to score but couldn’t and are now winging like usual.
Let's 4get about penalties not awarded. We should question Martinelli indecisions in the final 3rd. That is what I'm expecting the technical team to address. 1st he failed to lay a pass to Granit Xhaka for the 1st goal. The second was also failing to pass on coming Eddie only to give it to drifting Xhaka. That's very poor judgement. At Brighton he made same mistakes just that we were lucky to have people to score
Shearer is so biased about the whole thing, he would've been tearing into the refs had newcastle been on the receiving end of those two penalty decisions!
I hope next match the opposition doesn't get a penalty they ask him about it and if he says it wasn't a penalty they absolutely hammer him for being a hypocrite !!!!!!
Arsenal need someone who shoot from the d position, Thomas party does not always do it, need someone like Fabio Viera in such situations, who can take or try curve shots between the breaks. Odegaard is focused on tiki taka and creativity which is crucial. Maybe saka and martinelli have to be given spaces so that they take that shot. Right now arsenal are focusing more on pressing possession and quick passing, they need to add some long range shots to their game by making spaces outside the box and giving chances to xhaka or Odegaard or partey or Tierney or Viera to grab some goals.
Shearer u are never in such a position before to don't judge nor speak for other until u have put in the shift knowing you are a Newcastle fan so don't expect much of you anyway....
We've got Bruno in the middle, he knows exactly what we need, pope botman at the back Isak & new signing in attack Newcastle gonna win the premier league... 🏆
Ref made poor decisions. The manager got annoyed. Who do they blame? A few penalties given ball hitting the hand in the short proximity. Ed agrees. Neville talking through his back hole.
Disappointed with Ian Wright today. He was there when Alan Shearer was disrespecting Arteta and he never strongly rebutted it. He preferred his Pundit job and his friendship with Shearer. Why was he laughing at the penalty claims and light of claims.
If Eddie and odegaard get yellows for the same thing that Dan burn did then it was 100% a penalty. The ref was awful and shouldn't be picked to ref a game of this magnitude after this. And for shearer to say that about arteta when his man keegan did worse on camera is a bit rich.
People you have gotten me all wrong.i did not mean to take sides.oi simply said that all referee's should attend press conferences to explain any controversial decision that they may have taken during the course of play. This will bring more transparency to the game we all love.by the way I'm out and out a gunner.
That's the way the FA fixes games......why? the want you to think the FA is the greatest league in the world so that the trophy can be won down the wire, on the last day!! if you have watched epl for long you know what am talking about!
this is the same referee that messed up city game against Everton.. He was useless in that game as well, trying to be hero of the match rather than players...Ban this guy from refeering any more premier league games
Well France got penalty for that kind of handball against Argentina ! And Edie was yellow carded for pulling shirt while Gabriel was heavily fouled and nit hung happened
Alan shearer seriously? Delighted to sit back and get battered by a better team? He’s disrespectful, say the truth Newcastle were fortunate Arsenal were not quite at 100% That simple. How can Howe be proud of flagrant fouls and desperate tackles Interesting perspective to make a team better than they are
The Murphy handball was never a pen, not a chance. The Burn shirt pull I think wasm but, if you want all the decisions right, that chance was from a free kick given for a beautiful tackle that was never a foul.
arsenal grasping at straws more than burn was grasping that shirt. Hilarious arsenal if they went 1 up they would 100% park the bus, fall to the ground, slow the game to a stand still....yet.... sorry to hear saka has been diagnosed with acrophobia after being in dan burns back pocket all night. Newcastle took arsenal down from their high horse, thats what happened and they dont like it.
The handball is never a penalty the burn shirt pulling 100% is tho we were lucky to get away with that I was sure var would of awarded a pen once we saw it on the replay
You don't get it, or you've not been watching Arsenal at the Emirates for long enough. Last night was a bad result, it wasn't at St James' it was at the Emirates and Arsenal failed to get the 3 points. That being scared works _against_ this Arsenal team, because they don't have enough options and/or variety in the squad for someone to come off the bench and find a way through a team defending for its life. Every other team would have taken notes last night and so expect more points to be dropped in this fashion against teams now inspired by Newcastle. Arsenal had better make some signings this month, because their bench is weak. If they don't, their title charge will slip away very quickly from here on in, as we've seen in previous seasons.
@@haideebusayomi OK, well when you see teams adopt Newcastle's successful stifling approach, you _will_ start to get it when Arsenal start dropping points from here on and lose their lead in the table. In Laymans Terms, they have just been found out. There is a way out of it though and that is to get in these January rumoured players. If they don't, then the decline will ensue, like it does every single season Arsenal buy nobody in January. You're going to get it, don't worry.
@@Longlostpuss lol... how many teams can do what Newcastle did, very few... Arsenal will pull through and I’m certain they’ll sign this January, they look serious for once
@@haideebusayomi Alot actually, it's just that no team has thought to try and do that up to now. Do you not remember when Arsenal first moved to the Emirates and teams were parking the bus against them on a regular basis? Arsenal would drop points nearly every time managers implemented that strategy. Arsenal have gotten away with it up to now this season and if they don't spend wisely by the end of this month, or don't spend at all, I would be willing to bet they fall down the table within weeks.
I'm sorry, but are both Alan and Ian both saying the ref was correct in NOT awarding a penalty to Arsenal!? The shirt pull on Gabriel was definitely a penalty and the handball would have been harsh but we've seen them given.
The FA should quickly find the remedy to deter this useless referees who are always destroying the rhythm of the games. Let referees start accounting for their mischievous agendas, are they being bribed to change the outcome? It's irritating.
Hahahaha what a 🤡 Arteta is 😭 Eddie Howe owned your tactics. You went out to roll around from every tackle so we matched them and frustrated Arsenal. It was poor and scrappy but it's a point noone thought we'd get. Arsenal were not at theor best because Newcastle made them look this way. Every time a team doesn't play well against us oh this player played bad, that player wasn't at his best... yes because we made you look that way and stopped you playing how you wanted. Still best defense in league, still legit unbeaten all season. Another cleansheet
Newcastle deserved the result and played arsenal off the pitch last time they played. So what arsenal are entitled to the win? There are no easy games.
@@ezenwaikechukwu4244 newcastle didn't play them off the pitch this game, was talking about the last game, arsenal were better in this game, just saying these teams are competing strongly last couple of games and the idea that Newcastle were lucky or parked the bus is not correct...these are two teams that are doing well and that the games will be tough, as this one was. and that of course newcastle were always going to take an approach that was most uncomfortable for arsenal. I'm a newcastle fan through and through but i can see that arsenal are brilliant right now.
Fifa gave all powers to referees and turned players and managers to be nothing because they don't have to say anything this has killed the football league so they must reverse it and start punishing such referees of personal decisions we have seen it some referees show it clear that they are against some teams
United were as lucky as you can get in the first game. Disallowed goal that should've stood, all the chances we created and dominated United at Old Trafford
@@Michaelkaydee What kind of nonsense are you talking man?. Spurs and United are almost takeaway games for Arsenal and 6 points will be taken no doubt...
It was great game but awful refree. Premier league best league in the world but with the wost refrees. It is something that can be improved but really FA doesn’t care.
If it's a tie in a competition and you manage to hold a team to a goalless draw in their turf, that's a win for you. Nothing new. Arsenal failed to capitalise in front of their home crowd.
@@Lelough_ when you play against 12 men, 10 defenders, 1 striker and 1 blowing the whistle they don’t leave to many chance to capitalise. Newcastle needed 3 men to mark Gabriella and 2/3 to mark Saka. If you see that as win clearly my point has triggers you.
Alan your comment against Arteta is wrong because you are through and through Newcastle. Anyway Arsenal made Newcastle a laughing stock, made them park the bus.
The martinelli goal being chalked off by var for a foul committed near the arsenal goal is a farce. There were 3-4 passes after that "foul" where United could have easily won the ball but couldn't.
What annoyed me with that draw was with Eddie upfront we’re vulnerable and couldn’t play through the middle so our overall attacking options are limited. Martinelli and Ødegaard are inconsistent performers compared to Saka & Jesus and didn’t have a good game today in truth there’s many flat games Martinelli has had whereby he’s fails to be creative, take on players, cut inside and get shots off, put balls in the box or looks like by 65/70 mins he’s fatigued and doesn’t even want the ball. Saka was the only one trying to make something happen today from our main attacking 4! Zinchenko had a fabulous game 😍🔥, defo my man of the match. Xhaka hasn’t scored in a while nor is he getting those clean chances from crosses or loose balls into the penalty box so today I felt it was so much easier for Newcastle to hold us off and defend if we come across many other teams who set up that way currently with the way the team currently stands I feel as if we’ll easily throw the league away eventually we need about 2-3 signings now especially a striker we can’t rely on Eddie Nketiah if he doesn’t score he’s basically useless on the pitch!
I beg to differ. Eddie also harassed the Newcastle defence. And had chances to score but the Newcastle defence were resolute and Pope was spectacular. FYI, Newcastle has the best defensive record in the EPL this year. That been said, I completely agree with you on us getting more players into the team.
@@allenugwu6206 Eddie didn’t do much he was half hearted in closing down and forcing passing errors onto Newcastle’s players so they’ve don’t get balls easily into our midfield, the effort he had was a tamed left shot it was never really gonna trouble nick pope, he dwells on the ball too much and doesn’t just lay simple first time passes off, his overall movement to get into attacking threat positions is poor and he don’t have the ability to take on players draw players towards him and open up gaps in opponent defences to start assisting some of our wide men so he’s a burden on us so the fact we have to rely on him for a full 90 mins is criminal and so frustrating 🤯🤯
@@jeffreyowusu-ansah6136 tamed left shot? Dude Pope made a spectacular save. I get you about not wanting to depend on Nketia and I also want us to bring someone new this January window which the club is trying seriously to do. But you can't tell me Nkethia hasn't stepped up and played his heart out post world cup. Three starts and two goals. As well as causing defence problems. Come on bro. He isn't a magician even Halaand despite being a monster has a limit to his play. Arsenal know they need another forward and are in the market for them so let us as fans stop throwing tantrums and trust that they know what they are doing as well as what we need.
@@allenugwu6206 The shot was on his weaker left foot credit to him for getting it off but it wasn't hard or fast enough to trouble Pope he stuck a leg out and easily saved it nothing too troubling in fact we didn't really trouble him all game though he was the busier keeper all game come to think of it. TBH I'm beginning to question how "serious" we are in regards to bringing in re-enforcements in this January window as we've had ample time even during the world cup break and all up till now we've managed to bring in no one just time wasting with tedious negotiations like the Mudryk deal for example. There's only so much Eddie Nketiah will ever give us anyways if he doesn't score he just looks very mediocre on the pitch he's not a title winning or impactful striker at all he defo will go missing in the next few games I'm telling you mark my words. Until we Sign Mudryk & Tielemens this January window I'm not taking Arsenal or this current board that seriously we're gonna fall off soon the players are getting tired and we need more options in general FFS 😮💨.
@@jeffreyowusu-ansah6136 I don't understand what you mean by them dragging on the Mudryk deal. They have been pushing hard for him. They have already agreed personal terms with the player. The only people stalling this deal is Shaktar cos they want more more than the player is worth. During the summer, the player was valued around 45-50m now they are asking for 80-100m. As a rule of business, you don't over pay for something you know you can get for less. That's why there are negotiations. You forget that with FFP, there is a limit that we can spend. So now knowing that we need 2 or 3 new signings, how are we expected to get all of them if we spend just 100m on one player? Not forgetting how other teams over payed for players who ended up been just ok players. Manchester United bought Harry Maguire for 80m pounds when he wasn't worth more than half that amount. Jack Grealish went to City for 100m pounds. Tell me in your opinion, was Jack worth that amount? I had thought that by now Arsenal fans would start trusting the process but it seems many of our fans can't ever be satisfied.
@kevind6956 and all the decisions that went against newcastle this season so stop ya moaning all the penalty we should of had but didn't that's football
He was speaking the truth furthermore how can you claim to have the best defense in the league yet you made clumsy tackles inside the box. Just thank God you got away with it.
