So you want to take the next step up? You have to do it in the first half of the season and build up such a lead that even City will think nah, you can have it. City's totals after 19 games in each of the last 6 seasons 2018/19 - 44 pts. 2019/20 - 38 2020/21 - 41 2021/22 - 47 2022/23 - 39 2023/24 - 37 So ranging from pretty good to really good. But only once did a team take advantage. Liverpool in 19/20 didn't just have a good start. Or even a great one. They had a near unbelievable first half of the season winning 18 out of 19 games. And that was too much even for city to handle. So my friends. That's the task arsenal (and everyone else) are faced with. Because if by Christmas you've not broken city, then I'm afraid you're in for another "if only " season. Good luck fellas.

But you don't have to build some arbitrary points total in the first half. The division of seasons into halves means nothing. It's 38 games. If they had the exact same season but beaten Aston Villa at home, they would have won the league. City always finish strongly and if you don't finish strongly also, you're done. Saying that you have to build up some massive buffer before Xmas so that you can afford to lose when City enter their strong run seems like loser mentality

Some advice for Robbie and others when Spurs or other fans mock Arsenal and then say that any response about their club is "deflection.' The mockery has a personal element - call it gloating or insecurity. Therefore, getting personal in turn, and asking about how their club is doing is valid. On the other hand, if opposition fans are critiquing Arsenal is a non-personal way, challenging their performances and standards, then, going on the attack is deflection. It's about a good faith discussion or gloating.

I was just thinking… That Fulham at home game cost us the title. We were up 2-1 against 10 man Fulham. They equalized in something like the 87th minute. Those two points that we dropped would’ve put us level with City at the end of the season. We both ended with a 63 goal difference. That one goal, had they not scored, would’ve given us two points and a 64 goal difference, and we would’ve won the league by 1 goal.

we need a lcm this window. Notice how well Martinelli played when odegaard and white fed him. And how bad trossard always plays on that isolated lw. If we can keep feeding Martinelli like Xhaka used to i dont think we need a striker. And we can focus building up the squad as a whole. But seeing how odegaard fed martinelli yesterday makes me think "what if we had a lcm that fed him the ball all season". Hell even partey gives balls to that right side with that little curved ground pass. If we can start incorporating that left side more we will be much better next season.

I must say as an Arsenal fan that I have new found respect for Liverpool fans. When watching as a neutral few seasons ago seeing how Liverpool were hoping on the final day and city came back on A.Villa to get the title it was easy to just enjoy it and cheer who ever won. after the Man U game I was so happy that we were taking it to the final day but until that final day itself where there was a possibility that we could win it the pain was a new chapter that I have not experienced as a fan meeen😂. A cup trophy would have softened the pain.

Pep has only lost a league title race three times - when Mou assembled the greatest counter attacking squad ever, and made the Barca-Real rivalry so toxic and so intense that Pep needed a break -his first season in the PL, when Conte had prime Hazard and Costa -when Klopp's Liverpool were defending UCL champs who only dropped points ONCE all the way into Feb, and finished on 99 points Arsenal are deserving to be champions, but to beat Pep you almost need to be historically great and virtually perfect.

Easy to say when you're not the one busting your knees hips, thighs and muscles trying to win every single game to compete. Arsenal will need to keep spending millions just enough to stand still on the table while being hampered by the PL fair play from buying a group of expensive top talent that can topple City. All City needs to do, on the other hand, is just to top up on their immense pool of talent by buying the odd $100m player. It's a self-defeating loop.

As a neutral I am glad Arsenal are serious contenders. But you are big 5 I will always route for an underdog against you. But Tottenham are not in a “big 6” I consider Newcastle more.
