Art historian Deborah Lewer in a wide-ranging conversation with the noted theologian, poet and former Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams. Lewer will be asking Rowan Williams about his own relationship with visual art, including the works of art that have moved him to write poetry, and those that inspire and challenge us more widely in our lives today. The discussion explores how art can open up, to all of us, ways of seeing and imagining the world differently.
This event, part of the Art History Festival 2021, was recorded on Saturday, 25 September at the National Gallery.
Deborah Lewer is Senior Lecturer in History of Art, University of Glasgow.
