Two drummers who instantly come to mind with the rack setup, who did it before Art, are Tony Laureano, and Hellhammer. There's likely alot of black metal drummers who did it way before.

Art is awesome. Saw Prong in PDX on their last tour on Art's birthday. Took my 6 year old son and he wrote him a birthday card, that got to him through the merch guy. Art came out after the show to say hi and take a picture, made my son's day. They're a bunch of nice guys and always high energy on stage!

Seen Prong play on the Ruining Lives tour in Dublin, Ireland. Fantastic live band, nice guys and should be bigger, I highly recommend checking them out live if you ever get the chance you won't be disappointed!

Dude played drums for a band called azusa back in the day got me more into metal music when I was young. much respect for this guy his drumming has always been on point.

Yep. Used to see Azusa alot with dear life and this is the hospital and planes crash. Killer drummer. I owned a studio bout 30 mins from a church that through great shows. Sleeping giant,impending doom,WOP etc. One night he called and said dude...I need a double pedal for a WOP tour. I have him one of our dw9000's. Never got it back hahahaha. No worries. So glad he's con tinuing to kill it. Good dude.

Im surprised he didn't claim he was 1st drummer to not use a high hat stand and mounted his high hat cymbals like a cymbal stack on his rack because he definitely took that idea and concept of the drummer mike smith. Because he was on tour w mike smith and suffocation and saw how mike had his high hat mounted and after he saw mike do it he started doing it to save room on his set up. You can see what im talking about on arts playthrough video of chest and horns by winds of plague and his heel toe video. Then go check out mike smiths studio drumming playthroughs.

That is a bad ass drum set!. So easy to pack up and haul around. Art is one of my favorite drummers and plus he's got a sense of humor 😆 👏.

Symmetry is not the hole thing about the drums but Art makes a good design for his brain :D crashes places are very sensitive for every drummer, so he wants to underline this point. And his twin pedals ahhhh very good omg....

Lol hows he going to claim he started the trend of using one center leg on his rack system. Companies like Gibraltar racks use one center leg configuration. Besides that bands like Gojiras drummer has been using the 3 leg configuration long before this dude was even playing drums. Even Joey Jordison before he signed w pearl used to use 3 leg configuration systems back in the early 2000s. Im not trying to hate but I can't stand when ppl claim they were the first to do something or theyre the very first to do whatever. You know how man rack systems are out there that only use 3 leg configs. If you wanns get even more technical that pearl squared rack system he has was used by dead to falls drummer Tim Java w the 3 leg set up back in 05 before this dude was even on the scene before he was in a band anyone knew about. I been drumming since 1999 and bought my first Gibraltar rack in 2002 and it was a leg system w the middle leg between my 2 bass drums.

Art is a great guy and killer drummer! Got one of his sticks at a Prong show in 2018 and he gave my son a stick and a signed drum head from the whole band back in 2016.

Seen Prong open for Testament. I remembered Prong from back in the day, had no clue they were still a thing. Anyway, Prong impressed the fuck out of me. The band was great. Tight (drummer was fucking awesome), energetic, great songs. So I started buying a bunch of Prong albums, seen 'em with Helmet. Seen Art with Lamb of God opening for FUCKING SLAYER!!!! Then I recently seen Art is going out with Mark Morton. It's going to be an awesome show with Moon Tooth and Light the Torch. So without that Testament show, I wouldn't have been turned on to some great new metal.
